108th Avenue SE: SE 21st Street to Bellevue Way SE Pedestrian & Bicycle Improvement Construction Ahead Work begins at the end of September: Starting September 21st and continuing until the end of October, construction will occur on 108th Avenue SE between SE 21st Street and Bellevue Way SE to improve bicycle and pedestrian facilities. Construction Schedule: Work that affects traffic will occur Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Construction will take place over the next six weeks and be completed by the end of October. Project Improvements: The pedestrian and bicycle improvements will: • Replace the deteriorating asphalt sidewalks on the west side of 108th Avenue SE by the Triangle Pool with new concrete sidewalk. • Reconstruct curb ramps and relocate the push-button poles on the southwest corner of the 108th Avenue SE and Bellevue Way SE intersection to comply with current American with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. • Install new northbound and southbound bicycle lanes. • Repave the roadway and replace the in-pavement traffic signal sensors. Construction Impacts & Safety: Drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists please be cautious as you move through the construction zone. Crosswalks and existing bike lanes will be available but, it is important to exercise caution while work is underway. Please obey construction signs, flaggers and uniformed police officers for increased safety. If possible, it may be best to use an alternate route while this work is underway.
