“POPS” Hideo “Pops” Yoshimura was born in 1922 in Fukuoka City, Japan. He was trained as a military airplane mechanic, but after his time in the service, he made a name for himself working on the BSA and Triumph motorcycles of American servicemen stationed in Japan in the 1950s. Pops’ reputation as a master bike tuner grew boundlessly, thanks to his talent for hand altering stock parts to make them perform more efficiently and produce more power.

ROADRACING DOMINATION The Yoshimura Suzuki Superbike team wants to monopolize the top spot on the podium. Period. Of course, it takes more than hard work and “wanting it” to succeed in road racing. Thankfully, Yoshimura’s pedigree of outstanding racing for over five decades has given us the edge when it comes to laying rubber down on the track and organizing a successful race effort. We don’t just work hard; we like to think that we work smart. As the old saying goes, “A racing team is only as good as the sum of its parts.” First and foremost, you need to have riders capable of taking a bike to the podium. Next, a world-class crew to build the machine and maintain it at its full potential is required. On top of that, you have to have management that guides the whole effort in the proper direction and, last but not least, you need a relationship with the factory that enables access to special parts. Yoshimura is fortunate to have all of these. When you add in Yoshimura’s experience and dedication, and the incredible performance of the Suzuki GSX-R1000, you have a combination that’s hard to beat.

MAT MLADIN – 82 SUPERBIKE WINS

RYAN DUNGEY – 2010 SUPERCROSS/MOTOCROSS CHAMPION

MOTOCROSS DOMINATION Yoshimura has taken their championship-winning skills and put them to work on the supercross and motocross tracks. The popular RS-4 muffler and all-new dual-outlet RS-4D muffler are a testament to their drive and commitment to the off-road arena. Yoshimura has been supporting Team Honda Racing’s supercross and motocross efforts for the last six years. It was in conjunction with Team Honda that the RS-4 was born. In 2010, they took on the Rockstar Makita Suzuki supercross and motocross effort with tremendous results – titles in both the AMA Supercross and AMA Motocross Championships. Yoshimura has stepped up their participation for 2011 and is looking forward to another dominating year.

2011 SUPERCROSS/MOTOCROSS

RYAN DUNGEY – ROCKSTAR MAKITA SUZUKI

There’s really nothing like entering a racing season with a dominant rider and a dominant motorcycle. For 2011, Team Rockstar Makita Suzuki will do exactly that, with both Ryan Dungey and the all-conquering Yoshimura-equipped Suzuki RM-Z450 returning to the team with the goal of repeating what they did in 2010: Win everything there is to win. Dungey’s 2010 season was historic, with the 21 year old becoming the first rookie to win both the AMA Supercross Championship and the AMA 450 Motocross Championship in the same season. Combine that with his Supercross Lites and AMA 250 Motocross Championships in 2009 and Dungey has won four consecutive titles on his RM-Zs, not to mention the 2009 and 2010 MX des Nations titles as well. The RM-Z450 is the most dominant motocrosser in the four-stroke era and that’s not expected to change this year, with Dungey and newcomer Brett Metcalfe set to ride the 2011 model in the premiere 450 classes in both Supercross and Motocross. They will do so in a team led by new team manager, Mike Webb, an accomplished racer himself who has led Suzuki to 22 major championships in the off-road sector as that team’s longtime manager. And Webb will be joined by Suzuki Racing Advisor, Ricky Carmichael, the legend who really needs no introduction. Carmichael has a long and storied history with Suzuki and as the man universally considered the best Supercross and Motocross racer of all time, he will help guide Dungey and Metcalfe to further greatness in 2011. The team will also benefit greatly from its stepped-up partnership with Yoshimura – Yoshimura knows racing.

2011 YOSHIMURA SUPERBIKE TEAM Yoshimura Suzuki is looking to have another championship year in 2011 and has the team to do it. Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Tommy Hayden did very well in the 2010 season, tallying five race wins and ten podiums on his way to finishing a close second in the AMA Superbike Championship on his Yoshimura Suzuki GSX-R1000. Add to that his past successes, and we believe Tommy will continue moving forward on his journey to get on top of the box for 2011. Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Blake Young had a shortened season, missing five races due to a mid-season injury, but still managed to score three wins and two podiums in 2010. Young has become progressively more confident on his Yoshimura Suzuki GSX-R1000 and has shown he’s a great racer and a true talent. Blake is a strong contender and we can’t wait to see what he does on the track for 2011.

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT Our methodology is key. We built a completely separate facility dedicated only to Research & Development, enabling our talented R&D technicians to thrive in a focused environment while continually raising the bar on product quality. The Yoshimura design motto is simple and has not changed since the company’s inception: Make the best parts possible, and never compromise.

MANUFACTURING Yoshimura ships over 6,000 pipes per month throughout the world. With our dedication to quality, producing that many exhaust pipes is no simple task, but our manufacturing group consistently pulls it off. The detail, handwork, and old-world craftsmanship that go into making a Yoshimura product are impossible to replicate with a machine. The technicians at work here are artists; the exhausts they produce their artwork. All of this talent, tools, and raw metal come together to form the best exhaust systems in the world.

SLIP-ON AND FULL SYSTEMS Yoshimura Exhausts

Yoshimura Full Systems

Exhaust systems and engines are more closely linked than the casual observer might think, as the engine’s ability to produce power is determined by how quickly it can expel spent gasses. Exhaust systems are the easiest way to make your motorcycle’s engine perform better.

More than fifty years after the introduction of Yoshimura Full Exhaust Systems, we’re still building upon our strong foundation by continuing to provide unparalleled power, performance and quality.

As motorcycle engine technology has advanced, so have exhaust systems. Today, Yoshimura has invested millions of dollars in manufacturing equipment to ensure that we’re on the cutting edge of technology. Where tubes used to be cut with hacksaws and bent by hand over a torch, we now have CNC cut-off saws to accurately cut pipes to length while multi-level CNC tube benders shape pipes to exact specifications.

The full systems are designed with nothing but power in mind. Our years of experience and knowledgeable R&D technicians combine to make remarkable pipes. Add to that our inventory of more pipe bending tooling than anyone in the business and we’ve got what it takes to make the best products available.

Despite all of this equipment and some use of computer-controlled robot welding machines, one constant remaining at Yoshimura is that our pipes are welded by hand. No high-tech gadget or tool in the world could replicate the quality and incredible performance our racing and R&D groups build into our exhausts. Yoshimura pipes are built at a level of quality that few other companies can match.

12

Our list of innovations is long. While other companies are just discovering technology we’ve been perfecting for 35 years, like our duplex systems, for example, there is simply no match for Yoshimura’s incredible quality and attention to detail. When you put a Yoshimura pipe on your motorcycle, you know you’re going to get perfect fit and performance. More than five decades of racing and winning has given us an unparalleled level of expertise in all things power and performance.

R-77 SLIP-ON AND FULL SYSTEM

R-77 CARBON FIBER

The R-77D was born from the popular trapezoidal shaped R-77. The R-77 is serious business when it comes to performance as it was designed with racetrack feedback from racers Tommy Hayden and Blake Young. The R-77’s trapezoidal shape allows a large volume of packing material and in turn delivers top performance. With a straight baffle and removable low-volume insert, the R-77 muffler’s front cap is MIG-welded, while the end cap is riveted using high-end 304-L polished stainless steel rivets and bands. You can get the muffler in stainless steel, titanium, or race-inspired carbon fiber. The R-77 comes as a slip-on muffler, which attaches simply onto the stock exhaust mounting slip-fit, or on various full Yoshimura exhaust systems. The cone end caps come in either polished stainless steel or carbon fiber and the slip-on itself is mounted with a stainless steel mounting clamp.

14

TRAPEZOIDAL SHAPE

Introducing the all-new R-77D. A dual-outlet version of the race-proven R-77, the R-77D boasts a carbon fiber cone end cap and polished stainless steel dual outlet turndown. The R-77D requires no inserts or restrictions, increasing muffler packing life, and provides 5% more open exhaust outlet area and as much as 3 decibels lower sound output (compared to open standard R77). The R-77D also offers greater gains in bottom and mid range power with out restrictive inserts.

TRC-D SLIP-ON AND FULL SYSTEM TRC-D CARBON FIBER

The TRC is second to none! It’s a race-proven exhaust featuring a tri-oval design, trick coneshaped end cap, and an easily removable low-volume insert.

TRC STAINLESS FULL SYSTEM – Ti Muffler

The TRC has a straight baffle leading to that distinct cone-shaped end cap. The cap is available in stainless steel or carbon. The muffler choices are 304-L polished stainless steel, carbon fiber, or titanium. Both titanium and carbon fiber sleeves come with carbon fiber end caps for a truly sporty look. With an optional low-volume insert, the TRC also comes with a laser-etched heel guard that combines style and function.

DUAL-OUTLET CONE

The TRC-D features a tri-oval shape with striking dual-outlet, turn-down stainless-tipped muffler and an ultra lightweight carbon fiber cone cap. The dual taper exhaust manages sound in both high-flow and high-power applications. The TRC-D boasts 304-L polished stainless steel and MIG-welded construction with stainless, carbon, and titanium muffler sleeve options. The TRC-D is available as a bolt-on or slip-on muffler that attaches simply onto the OEM (stock) exhaust mounting slip-fit or mounting flange. It also works with various full Yoshimura exhaust systems.

The TRS offers the best of Yoshimura but with a friendlier price tag. It’s a race-bred muffler that has the clear look and sound of Yoshimura. We never skimp on performance or style.

TRS STAINLESS FULL SYSTEM - SS Muffler

Developed in Japan by Fujio Yoshimura, the TRI is a race-bred full exhaust system. It features a handsome dual outlet, turndown titanium-tipped muffler that produces a unique sound note that is pleasing to the ears. The dual outlets and overall design make the TRI visually pleasing as well. Many of our customers believe that the dual outlet tips combine with the Tri-Oval shape to make the TRI one of the most eye-catching pipes on the market.

The straight baffle of the TRS leads to a single-machined turn-down tip. Low volume insert compatible. The TRS comes as a bolt-on or slip-on muffler that attaches easily onto the OEM (stock) exhaust mounting slip-fit or mounting flange and on various full Yoshimura exhaust systems.

The TRI full systems feature stainless steel MIG-welded construction with titanium and carbon muffler sleeve options. There are also high-exit applications available for select models.

There are three configurations to choose from: polished stainless, titanium, or carbon fiber. The TRS is also available as a high exit configuration on select models.

The RS-3 comes as a bolt-on or slip-on muffler and of course attaches simply onto the OEM (stock) exhaust mounting slip-fit or mounting flange. It can also attach to various full Yoshimura exhaust systems.

SINGLE-TIP OVAL

Muffler sleeve options for the RS-3 include polished stainless steel, titanium, and carbon fiber. A high-exit option is available for select bike models.

RS3-C STAINLESS STEEL

RS-3 TITANIUM

The RS-3 exhaust is race bred and has the unmistakable look and sound of Yoshimura. It is also one of our most popular exhausts because it’s a reasonably-priced alternative to some of our more “exotic” mufflers. The RS-3 has the classic good looks preferred by many riders and just like every single pipe we make, the RS-3 packs a whole lot of performance into an attractive package. The RS-3 mufflers feature a straight baffle that leads to a single turndown tipped aluminum end cap. The oval-shaped muffler is capable of housing a low-volume Yoshimura insert.

RS3-C SLIP-ON

The RS-3 has been one of Yoshimura’s signature exhaust systems for years. This staple of our pipe lineup has been given a little twist, and now we have the RS-3C. It has the same classic shape as the ever-popular RS-3 but with a carbon fiber end cap to give it that trick look. The RS-3C features stainless steel MIG-welded construction with stainless sleeve option and slick carbon cone end cap. It’s available in slip-on or bolt-on configurations. The RS-3C is also offered in carbon and titanium muffler sleeve options, but only for the 2008-2009 GSX1300R Hayabusa. See application book for a full range of models and applications for each system.

21

R-55LE TITANIUM – CF end cap/shield

R-55 SLIP-ON AND FULL SYSTEM The R-55 is currently one of Yoshimura’s most popular pipes, and for good reason. It’s a hybrid of Moto-GP, Superbike, and Yoshimura style, which makes for a pretty impressive package. Its asymmetrical shape appeals to the eye and really captures the spirit of Moto-GP racing. It also complements the look of any sportbike, following the race-inspired lines of today’s motorcycles.

TAPERED TRI-OVAL

The R-55 features a straight baffle with a removable lowvolume insert. The pipe is TIG-welded to Yoshimura quality standards and is made of high-quality polished stainless steel. From there, you have the option of a polished stainless steel or carbon fiber end cap. The laser mounting bracket is TIG-welded to ensure strength and good looks. You can get the R-55 as a slip-on muffler, which attaches simply to the stock exhaust mounting slip-fit, or on our various full Yoshimura exhaust systems.

SUZUKI SLIP-ON AND FULL SYSTEMS The Suzuki motorcycle fleet is simply amazing. From the GSX-R lineup to the jaw-dropping Hayabusa, Suzuki is focused solely on making winning motorcycles. The best part is that they never rest on their laurels. With all of the updates Suzuki has made recently, particularly the all-new GSX-R600 and GSX-R750, the entire lineup is outstanding. If you are a Suzuki fan or owner, you already know about the special kinship Suzuki and Yoshimura have solidified with years of racing and winning.

YOSHIMURA GSX-R1000 SUPERBIKE PROJECT

Hayabusa GSX-1300R Due to its wide appeal, Yoshimura makes more models of exhausts for the Hayabusa than any other motorcycle. From the RS-3C to the TRI dual outlet full exhaust systems, we have the pipe for your ’Busa. No matter which pipe you choose for your bike, they are all made with the same high quality, high performance, and careful craftsmanship in mind. Yoshimura’s attention to detail and dedication to quality is well known, and our Hayabusa pipes reinforce that reputation.

GSX-R1000 The GSX-R1000 has been the bike to beat for some time, and Yoshimura leads the way with innovative products for this winning motorcycle. We make every kind of exhaust system imaginable for this big Suzuki Superbike, and rest assured that the pipe’s performance is unrivaled. Just look at our track record for the last decade of racing, and you’ll see why Yoshimura exhausts are the way to go if you own a GSX-R.

Hayabusa with R-77 Carbon Fiber

GSX-R750 The last standing 750cc sport bike brings to light the best that motorcycling has to offer. Nearly identical to the GSX-R600 but with a lot more horsepower, the GSX-R750 has a high-performance engine in a lightweight frame. Because they’re similar, the 2008-2009 GSX-R750 and 600 share pipes. So, all of the options for one fit the other. During testing, the same specifications worked best on both bikes, which is pretty handy as far as we’re concerned.

GSX-R600 The GSX-R600 is one of the most popular Suzuki motorcycles, and for good reason. It’s fun, handles well, and looks sharp. Yoshimura’s exhaust products for the 600 are tirelessly tested and unequaled in quality. We dedicate so much time testing the pipes for this bike that we almost always wear through one dyno tire in the process. From blazing full duplex systems to the broad pulling power delivery of our slip-ons, you’ll get the performance you demand from the Yoshimura and Suzuki collaboration. Check out our full range of accessories including case savers, carbon fiber heat shields, bar ends, chassis protectors, and adjustable rearsets.

HONDA SLIP-ON AND FULL SYSTEMS Honda Pipes

If you’ve got a DR-Z400SM, you’ve got options when it comes to exhausts. The RS-2 single-sided system is a great all-around pipe that’s lightweight, has good ground clearance, and gives you big power gains. And it looks cool. If that’s not enough, it comes with the little touches and features you’ve come to expect from Yoshimura. It has a plasma-cut heat shield with our Yoshimura logo, high-quality chrome steel exhaust springs, and even spring vibration dampers with the Yoshimura logo molded in. Want to spice it up a bit? Try the Dual RS-4 Full System. Also, check out our engine services on page 61.

Honda is synonymous with innovative, forward-thinking, high-quality motorcycles, and that’s why they’re the biggest name in two wheels. Their lineup is a veritable “who’s who” of machinery. The Honda 1000 and 600 are awesome bikes that take kindly to being hopped up. They have great track manners and stout engines that are ready to be built up. Yoshimura pipes are a natural choice when it comes to kicking the Big Red machines up a notch. Yoshimura has dedicated a lot of time and effort to the 1000 and 600 Honda’s. Take a look at the laser-etched heat shields that come with our pipes to make a visual impact. And of course the performance is typical Yoshimura—strong! Strap one of our pipes on your Honda and you’ll experience the power that more than 50 years of racing has taught us.

CBR 1000RR with R-77 Titanium

Honda CBR1000RR The flagship CBR1000RR represents the ultimate in Honda liter-bike performance, and the RR’s low weight and low center of gravity is perfectly complemented by our Yoshimura low-mount R-77 exhaust. The R-77 Slip-on goes on low and comes with an aluminum alloy heat shield that replaces the integrated stock lower bodywork on the stock exhaust. The anodized Yoshimura heat shield bolts straight onto our tail-pipe and has a laser-etched Yoshimura logo. Not only is this one good-looking pipe, but the included heat shield has that “race” look that your RR loves. Options are titanium, stainless, or carbon fiber sleeves with carbon fiber or stainless steel end caps.

Honda CBR600RR RS-2 Carbon Fiber

Yoshimura RS-5 undertail exhausts are a perfect match for the mid-sized CBR600RR Honda. The round outlet improves power delivery and produces more horsepower than the old elliptical design. You’ll get an increase of almost 5 hp with our Stainless/TI Full System over the stock setup. Plus, the RS-5 looks amazing! But the RS-5 pipe won’t just improve the aesthetics; you’ll get the power, quality and fit you’ve come to expect from Yoshimura.

RS-2 Aluminum

The red hot Honda RC51 has been dropped from the Honda lineup…but that doesn’t mean we’re dropping it! We love big twin sport bikes here at Yoshimura. It started when we used to race the Suzuki TL-1000s, and the RC-51 is of the same breed. The sound of the RC51 is music to our ears, and we make those tones a little sweeter with our exhausts. The Yoshimura slip-ons really get the big Honda twin singing. Don’t forget our hard parts as a finishing touch — see pages 53 through 55.

YAMAHA SLIP-ON AND FULL SYSTEMS We don’t know if we could choose between the R6 and the R1, because Yamaha has made them both so amazing. These blazing-fast Yamahas are wonderful to look at, and they pack quite a punch when you flick the throttle. The Yoshimura pipes for these bikes are built of a similar concept: good-looking, lightweight and powerful. When you add a Yoshimura pipe to your Yamaha, it’s like motorcycle magic.

Yamaha YZF-R1 The MotoGP-inspired R1 has been through quite a transformation since its introduction. It now features a crossplane crankshaft with a unique firing order that makes a big bang! Yamaha engineers set out to make the R1 produce smooth power and tons of torque while putting it all in a visually stunning package. They definitely hit the mark. Yoshimura’s undertail slip-ons are the perfect setup for this hot-looking bike. The undertail R1 twin TRC-D’s are works of art, and we’d readily argue that the Yoshimura TRC-D’s are by far the best looking R1 pipes on the market. The undertail R77 ¾ system, which includes Y-pipe, makes this great bike even better with its perfect fit and awesome performance.

KAWASAKI SLIP-ON AND FULL SYSTEMS Kawasaki’s two-wheeled monsters are an absolute blast to ride, and they respond really well to Yoshimura performance pipes. We offer a variety of products to really get the most out of your Kawi.

Kawasaki ZX-14 A full line of Yoshimura R77 and TRC exhaust full systems are available for the Kawasaki’s ZX-14. Our duplex headers have superior mid-range performance and linear torque curves for lots of usable power. The R77’s carbon end cap or the stylishly vented cap of the TRC tops off our full systems, providing a great combination of style and function. If slip-ons are more your thing, Yoshimura has the R77 in carbon, stainless and TI (all with carbon end caps). ZX-14 with TRC Carbon Fiber

Kawasaki ZX-10R Yoshimura has a full line of R-77 and TRC exhaust full systems for the Kawasaki ZX-10R. Our duplex headers offer up superior mid-range performance and linear torque curves for lots of usable power. If slip-ons are more your style, there’s the R-77 line in carbon, stainless, and TI (all with carbon endcaps). The R-55 MotoGP-style units come in stainless/carbon or stainless/stainless, plus there is also the complete TRC line.

Kawasaki ZX-6R

YZF-R6V with R-55 Stainless Steel

Yoshimura offers plenty of pipe configurations to make the ZX-6R uniquely your own. The R77, RS-4, and TRC mufflers offer increased performance, less weight, and greater mass centralization. All of Yoshimura’s pipe configurations improve an already strong powerband. The Ninja comes with a lot of bottom-end torque and smooth throttle response, and Yoshimura adds top end and power across the board without sacrificing the engine’s linear power delivery.

Yamaha YZF-R6V

Kawasaki Ninja 250R

The Yamaha R6V is a middleweight Super Sport bike full of innovations and technology. This championship-winning motorcycle keeps getting better, and Yoshimura offers a complete line of exhaust products for it. The TRC, TRC TriOval and R-55 exhausts work really well with this bike. The MotoGP-inspired R-55 low center of gravity full systems and slip-ons are really popular. YZF-R1 with Dual R77’s Carbon Fiber Under Tail

The RS-3C comes in two setups, both featuring stainless steel Y pipes. Choose between an RS-3C with carbon fiber sleeves and end cap or the RS-3C with titanium sleeves and carbon fiber end cap. The RS-3C does more than just look great; it also performs well, boosting horsepower and snap. With these two great options, deciding on one may be difficult, but the selection is easy when you choose a Yoshimura exhaust for your KTM.

The BMW S1000RR is a sport bike initially manufactured by BMW Motorrad to compete in the 2009 Superbike World Championship that is now in commercial production. It was introduced in Munich in April 2008, and is powered by a 999 cc inline-4 engine that redlines at 14,200 rpm. The S1000RR includes a number of hightech features including ABS and traction control. Yoshimura is offering a number of exhaust system options for the S1000RR including the R77 high mount slip-on (in both titanium and carbon), the R77 Ti carbon full system and the R55 titanium carbon slip-on.

It’s been three years since Yoshimura R&D of America, the world’s premiere manufacturer of aftermarket motorcycle and ATV exhaust systems, entered the fast-growing scooter market and changed everything! Scooters today are cutting-edge technological wonders, but Yoshimura takes them to the next level!

Triumph Daytona 675 Sharp styling, lightweight, and a powerful motor make the Triumph 675 Triple one of the best all-around bikes on the market. Yoshimura R&D came up with an ideal exhaust for the Daytona 675 in the form of a figure-fitting RS-5 undertail muffler, offered in carbon fiber, stainless steel, and titanium sleeve options matched with a stainless steel tailpipe. The Yoshimura slip-on exhaust offers increased performance of 3 peak horsepower and a weight reduction of 8 pounds, which improves the overall feel of the bike. Top it off with a smooth sound note and you’ve got the racer’s edge.

SCOOTER EXHAUST

We offer two great muffler options: The popular TRC style is available in stainless and stainless with a carbon fiber end cap for both durability and looks. It is also available in a carbon fiber sleeve with carbon fiber end-cap for the “racer” look.

RM-Z450

CRF-450R

The fuel-injected RM-Z450 took the motocross world by storm when it was released a few years ago. Racers love the handling, the precise steering, and especially that fuel-injected snap this Suzuki delivers. The RM-Z has seen the checkered flag quite a lot…Simply put, it’s a winner! It is a great all-around bike with solid low- to mid-range power, and it has been updated across the board for 2011. Our Yoshimura RS-4D and RS-4 slip-ons and full systems turn the RM-Z into a full on race machine with even more of that sought-after, moto-winning linear power.

The CRF-450R has a lot of desirable attributes — centralized mass, a killer fuel-injected engine, and all sorts of other cool stuff. Since Yoshimura is the official supplier to Team Honda Racing’s Supercross/Motocross team, we didn’t hold back when it came to making the best for this bike. The RS-4 features a duplex resonance chamber and massive internal pipe tapers, and the canister comes in 99 and 94dB convertible configurations. That’s not all we do for the CRF-450R. Yoshimura’s famous Peripheral Interface Module (PIM-2) unit controls the fuel in this bike. With a PIM-2 installed, the rider can have instant custom tuning to get the most out of the Yoshimura pipe, and to get the perfect setup for any riding condition.

RM-Z250 Suzuki’s new RM-Z250 already has a long list of accolades from the enthusiast press. Our RS-4D and RS-4 full systems make it even better by giving it some much needed over-rev. It’s amazing what a difference a pipe can make, and in the RM-Z 250’s case, the addition of the RS-4 is a big deal. It’s the easiest way to transform your bike from fun to fierce!

We recommend the use of Yoshimura PIM-2 units with all full exhaust systems. See details on page 57.

The YZ-450F has more centralized mass, great suspension, and fuel injection, which makes it a very rideable and successful machine. The only way to improve upon this bike is to put on a Yoshimura RS-4 Pro Series Full System. This race-winning machine benefits from having our RS-4 Pro aboard, as it’s simply the single best bolt-on exhaust you can buy to enhance your riding experience.

The Kawasaki KX-450 has had its fair share of racing success in the past several seasons, which is a testament to the great design of this machine. With fuel injection and a great overall feel, the bike gets even better with a Yoshimura pipe. The RS-2 slip-ons and full systems are all that’s needed to tap into the machine’s dormant power and get more grunt out of the 450F.

YZ-250F with RS-2 Stainless Steel

YZ-250F The YZ-250F is an incredible machine that has set the standard for 250s since 2001. When Yamaha unleashed the first four-stroke 250cc race bike, it set the world on fire. We know from first-hand experience because we supported Larry Ward on a YZ-250F back when he rode for the Moto XXX racing team. Today, our engineers have logged countless dyno hours to extract every last bit of raw horsepower from the Yamaha 250. The end result is a Yoshimura exhaust that is perfectly balanced to mate with an already fierce engine.

TRX450R with RS-2 Stainless Steel

This legendary race quad has been a winner since day one. The Honda 450R has one of the strongest, most reliable engines out there, and when you add an improved exhaust system, things really get cooking. Yoshimura’s Ti-Pro full system works like a charm on the 450: it’s lightweight and wakes up the engine. The Full System and the Ti-Pro Slip-on comes with a 99dB and a 94dB insert, so you can be fast and legal sounding at the same time.

Yoshimura has a storied history with this quad already, and we just keep winning titles with it. From development to the top of the podium, Yoshimura has been a part of this quad’s success. With our Titanium Full System and a PIM-2 unit installed, the power of the Suzuki QuadRacer R450 is breathtaking. The power delivery aided by the fuel injection system has a solid, linear feel that turns out faster lap times and better control. This quad makes it easy to go fast. Yoshimura has a wide range of engine modifications for those of you who want more out of the R450. Whether you add a Slip-on pipe or a fire-breathing full race system, this is definitely the go-to ATV if winning is on your to-do list. Here’s a modern classic that never gets boring. The LT-Z400 performs like a champ…in fact, we won several titles with this quad before the dawn of the 450 race quads. It handles well and is fun to ride. And the best part is the Z400 just keeps getting better. It has fuel injection, and when you add a Yoshimura RS-2 exhaust into the mix, things really get moving. We also offer a PIM-2 unit to make sure the fuel injection is working at the optimum level. And if you believe bigger is better, check out our 449cc Big Bore Stroker kit (see page 145 for Engine Kits). Now we’re talking about fun!

YFZ450R/YFZ450X

YFZ450R with RS-2 Stainless Steel

Everyone loves this quad, thanks to its attentive, fuel-injected engine and lightweight aluminum frame. That’s not to say it can’t get even better with a Yoshimura exhaust and a PIM-2 unit. If you’re looking to give the YFZ450R a kick in the pants with a solid power increase, decreased weight, and legal sound, then the smart choice is one of our pipes.

YFZ450 We get the feeling that the people at Yamaha know what they’re doing. They’ve sold a lot of YFZ450s throughout the years, and when they released fuel-injected YFZ450R, they wisely kept the original 450 in their lineup. This machine is fun anywhere you want it to take you and its narrow front end lends itself to navigating tight trails, but it’s also a serious contender on the track.

We recommend the use of Yoshimura PIM-2 units with all full exhaust systems. See details on page 57.

PIM-2 Yoshimura introduces the PIM-2, the evolution of our original Dirt Bike/ATV fuel injection adjustment “PIM” device. PIM-2 installs easily, typically in under 30 minutes, using simple plug-n-play technology. Plug the PIM-2 into the stock wiring harness, mount it to your bike using the supplied mounting kit, and you are ready to race! The PIM-2 comes pre-loaded with two separate fuel injection maps for either the Yoshimura slip-on or full exhaust system and the adjustability is limitless and easy. If those two maps are not enough, there are dozens of maps downloadable for FREE on the Yoshimura website. No matter what pipe brand or engine modification configuration you have, we have map downloads available from the Yoshimura website that make it easy to obtain maps for virtually any application. Simply plug your laptop into the PIM-2 through a supplied USB cable and you can custom make your own fuel injection maps in minutes.

The optional DATA kit consists of an air fuel sensor and amplifier box that plugs into the PIM-2 and allows for self-mapping of the motorcycle. Self-mapping means that as the user runs the bike on a dyno or on a closed course, the DATA Box automatically calculates the required fuel adjustment at each RPM and throttle position to reach the user-selectable target air fuel ratio. The DATA Box offers an alternative way for mapping without the time or cost of a custom dyno tune. For the rider looking for maximum performance, a dyno tune together with the DATA is the way to go. The DATA Box mapping software allows for the user to easily enter the target air fuel ratio, start, stop, and review the results of the self-mapping function. Once the recommended adjustments have been reviewed, the user can either apply all of the suggested adjustments or just a certain range with a few simple clicks of the mouse. The kit comes with all of the required hardware, but may require modification of the exhaust pipe to accept the air fuel sensor fitting.

Camshafts Yoshimura has been making high-end camshafts for more than 50 years. We started out designing Superbike camshafts, but have since expanded the line of camshafts to include motocross motorcycles and ATVs. Yoshimura’s expertise and years of experience in building the best camshafts in the business is legendary. All Yoshimura camshafts are constructed from one-piece billet or blanks, not re-grind. As a result, our cams not only perform at the highest level possible, but they are also extremely durable. Fujio Yoshimura supervises every aspect of the cam design and manufacturing process. Our investment in state-of-the-art computerized equipment to aid in the design of Yoshimura cams proves our dedication. The results are spectacular. The camshaft’s performance is nothing short of breathtaking, and we use a combination of computer, dyno, and real world testing. Yoshimura cams main focuses are peak numbers and rideability.

ENGINE SERVICES

ENGINE SERVICES ISF Process Yoshimura has an in-house Isotropic Superfinishing Process (ISF) department, and that’s where we can blueprint your engine’s gear sets just as it’s done on Formula 1 machines. This technology allows your engine to run more freely through decreased friction and proper interaction of reciprocating parts.

Before ISF Process

Even though typical ISF treatments include gear sets and internal transmission parts, all of the reciprocating parts will benefit from the ISF process. We use this same process on our 240-horsepower Superbike racing engines, as well as 70-horsepower Motocross/ ATV racing mills. The mirror-like finish reduces friction on all reciprocating surfaces, reducing drag and increasing durability. It also reduces heat significantly, which makes for a smoother-running engine. After ISF treatment, every reciprocating part interacts smoothly and the combined reduction in friction unleashes previously trapped power. Unleashing trapped power, lowering operating temperatures, and giving your machine that winning feeling is a good thing.

Stage 1 (Cylinder Head Only)

ATV & Off-Road Engine Kits

• Decarbonize combustion chamber • Port intake tract, exhaust port, valve seating

If you want to win, you’ll need the best engine performance you can get. Yoshimura offers three basic levels of engine performance upgrades.

• Confirm valve spring tension and condition of associated components prior to assembly

Stage 1 is the basic hop-up that best fits the average racer. This is the correct choice if you are racing in the C or B class (beginner or novice). Stage 1 has excellent reliability yet gives the racer a healthy dose of power when used in conjunction with a Yoshimura pipe.

Stage 2 (Cylinder Head Only) • Blend valve seats to cylinder head • Intake manifold blending • Light port shaping and valve job • Confirm valve spring tension and condition of associated components prior to assembly

Stage 3 (Cylinder Head Only)

After ISF Process

Additional Services: • Machine gasket services • Mill cylinder head to increase compression ratio

• Full port and polish

• Inspection and reassembly of top end

• Reshape both intake tract and exhaust port to optimize performance

• Bottom end blueprinting and assembly

• Complete race spec engine build for all classes • Installation of high performance engine components • Camshafts • Crankshafts

• Reshaping of combustion chamber

• Stage 3 port and polish: single-cylinder and multi-cylinder

• Complete valve job

• ISF transmission process

• Pistons

• Confirm valve spring tension and condition of associated components prior to assembly

• Knife edge and balance crankshaft

• Valve train components

• Engine dyno break in and dyno tuning

• EM-Pro software

• Connecting Rods

Stage 2 is for the racer who is a top contender in the intermediate or B class. The compression is upped, the head modified, and a Yoshimura billet cam tops off the Stage 2 list. The increase in compression will require more maintenance, but all in all, the Stage 2 engine kit provides a very strong yet reliable engine. Stage 2A is a completely assembled engine. Stage 3 is a full-tilt racing engine featuring big horsepower gains. This is the choice for a serious amateur or pro rider who is looking to win and will accept nothing less than the best. Every part of a Stage 3 engine is manicured or modified; even the gear sets and internal transmission parts are polished and matched using our in-house Yoshimura Isotropic Surface Finish Process. Stage 3 is a completely assembled engine.
