2013 GIVE-BACK VOLUNTEER PROGRAM Concern for Animals is seeking a few skilled volunteers for our 2013 Give Back Volunteer Program. To learn about these exciting opportunities, please see the descriptions below.

CRITERIA FOR APPLYING: •Our volunteers will begin approximately June 1, 2013 and continue through approximately June 1, 2014. •All volunteers are unpaid and expected to help with fundraising events and administrative duties as assigned. •Please indicate in the subject line which volunteer position you would like to be considered. •Interested candidates should forward a cover letter, and either a volunteer application or Board application, via email to [email protected]. •No phone calls please! EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS: This Give Back Volunteer Program is perfect for anyone looking to learn more about the world of nonprofit development, event planning, and animal welfare issues. While these positions will be especially helpful to those looking to continue in a career in the non-profit sector, the skills learned through the event planning, fundraising, marketing, financial duties, veterinarian services and administration are invaluable to anyone who plans to have a leadership role in any sector. Most importantly, this is a fun volunteer program in a fast-paced, casual work environment, and contributes to saving lives of cats, dogs, and farm animals at CFA. Additionally, these positions will give the opportunity to work on an individual project with the support of the board and staff. These are great opportunities to add a personal and unique element to a professional portfolio, and work to improve specific skills with the help of a professional non-profit team. EVENTS PROGRAM: Position Title: CFA Events Coordinator Job Description: Applicants must have open availability the weekend of November 9th, 2013. This position assists CFA board and staff in preparing and executing fundraising events, including Toast for Tails, and third-party events. This position will have a special focus on planning Toast for Tails annual wine tasting and auction, by procuring auction items, working with donors and guests, and assisting with day-of execution of the event. The successful candidate will also provide assistance with public inquiries, third party event planning, gift processing, donor acknowledgement, and other tasks as needed.

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR: Position Title: CFA Volunteer Coordinator Job Description: This position contributes to the success of CFA by recruiting, orienting, and maintaining the daily coordination of volunteers for all events and projects as needed. May work from office or home MARKETING: Position Title: CFA Marketing Coordinator Job Description: The marketing position will assist with day-to-day activities that include print, mailings, newsletters, events, PSAs brochures, posters, and visual communications about CFA and related news. Able to work from home or CFA office once opened. ADMINISTRATION OFFICE ASSISTANT: Position Title: CFA Administrative Office Assistant Job Description: Office Assistant volunteers will provide administrative/clerical support. Duties may include filing, data entry, copying, answering phones, and helping the walk in public and other clerical duties as assigned. This position would also care for any adoption cats that maybe in our care at the office during your shift. Shifts would be 3 hours a week days available are Fridays, Saturday or Monday 9-12 or 12-3. This position requires computer skills in MS Office, FileMaker Pro and website editing. ACCOUNTING: Position Title: CFA Accounting Assistant Job Description: Help with detailed organizational risk assessments, helped the organization strengthening controls around cash/bank, and help in setting up programs and budgets, monthly reports and help with balancing. Work would need to be performed at the CFA office 4 – 6 hours a month. This position requires computer skills in MS Office and QuickBooks. VETERINARIAN: Position Title: CFA Veterinarian Assistant Job Description: Looking for a Vet or Vet tech to help with public outreach training events on pet care and health. Help plan and administer special spay and neuter days, microchip and shot programs. FOOD BANK: Position Title: Food Bank Coordinator Job Description: Support our Pet Food Bank which assists hundreds of animals annually who would otherwise go hungry. The Pet Food Bank enables families on government assistance, students, military,

and seniors to keep their animals during temporary need. Volunteers in this position work with the Volunteer Coordinator and provide assistance as follows: · · · · · ·

Solicit donations from local pet stores, individual donors and special food bank drive programs. Transport donated pet food form donation location or over stock location to bank. Organize food for efficient distribution and keep updated logs of quantity of food and its usage. Log all entries in FileMaker Pro. Ensure Pet Food Bank drop off points off-site and on-site are kept clean and orderly with food supplies stored properly. Work on a plan to distribute food to outline locations and local senior centers on a Pet Food Program. Help CFA procure a donated food bank van from a local dealership, company or single party.

Time commitment: 1-2 days a week 1-2 hour each day depending on need schedule can be made by volunteer. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. FOSTER CARE & ADOPTION PROGRAM: Position Title: Foster Care & Adoption Coordinator Job Description: Develop and market a foster care program, recruit foster care volunteers and maintain paperwork to ensure policies are followed according to guidelines. Coordinate adoption days with local pet stores, market the events, staff adoption days, set up displays, arrange meet and greets, and complete adoption paperwork.
