Child Watch is one of the many benefits of being a member of the Scott County Family Y. This free service is for our family members who have children between the ages of six-weeks to six-years of age. Our staff will guide your kids through fun and character-building activity while you get your spirit, mind and body energized. (It is not permissible to leave your child in the Child Watch Center and then leave the premises - although if you like that idea, we offer Kids Night Out programs.)

Participants will enjoy swimming, arts & crafts, and group interaction. Days are based on the school district calendar. Kids will need to bring a snack, swim suit and towel. Grades K-5th. After School Adventures

Sign up for a fun-filled afterschool time! We offer a safe, fun and structured environment for your elementary-aged child. Monday-Friday from afterschool until scheduled school days. Participants can look forward to fabulous actvities, a snack, arts & crats and homework help. We also swim the first Wednesday of the month. Limited space, so register early. Fee: Enrollment $10 Monthly $80 per month Location: North & West Dates: Davenport School District calendar Time: After school until 5:30 pm

Bettendorf YMCA “Y-Pals”

Too old for Child Watch? Let the Y Staff lead fun activities in a safe, structured environment for your 6-12 year old during extended school breaks (Spring, Winter, Summer). Y Pals is a drop-in program from 8am-12pm, with an annual registration fee per child per calendar year of $25 to cover the cost of staff and supplies. Once your child is registered, they may attend Y Pals any day the program is offered during the calendar year. Y Pals follows the Bettendorf and PV School District Calendars. Activities include: crafts, free time in the gym/game areas, gym games, Kidz Fit ‘n Fun classes, and movies. Y Pals is an extension of Child Watch, therefore, snacks are not provided and parents are not permitted to leave Y property while their child is signed into Y Pals. Electronic devices are not allowed.

If you are thinking about sending your child to camp this summer, our open houses are a great opportunity to see Camp Abe Lincoln. Parents will be able to get a tour of the cabins, the program areas, the dining hall and the pool. Our full-time camp staff will be available to answer any questions. FREE Family Fun Day

Whether this is your first summer or 90th, Family Fun Day is a great way to come ut and see camp and participate in some family friendly activities. Participate in archery, horseback riding, canoes, and much more. This event is free to the community. June 1, 2014 1:00pm-5:00pm

Day Camps offer the fun and adventure of camp without spending the night. Campers will spend time outdoors doing a variety of activities like archery, horseback riding, canoeing, arts and crafts, and games. Various Day Camps are available for kids ages 4-12. Bus pick ups take place at all YMCA branches, including Two Rivers YMCA in Moline and the Muscatine YMCA.

Overnight camp offers an authentic camping adventure. Campers will have an opportunity to experience archery, canoeing, horseback riding, arts & crafts, team building, tower climbing, outdoor living skills and much more. A week of overnight camp will leave a camper with lifelong memories and friendships.

Our ranch camps provide campers with the opportunity to gain knowledge in horse care and riding through the four core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Horse campers will be responsible for taking care of their own horse for the week as well as get the chance to improve their riding skills. All activities are under the careful supervision of the wrangler staff.

When someone is diagnosed with cancer, it affects the whole family. Thanks to a gift from Genesis Health System Cancer Care Institute, Camp Abe Lincoln, in partnership with Gilda’s Club of the Quad Cities, has been providing Camp Genesis for the past six years. This week of camp is for children who have a family member diagnosed with cancer. >> Camp Genesis is made possible by the Genesis Cancer Care Institute

at the North, West and Bettendorf Ys Spend your summer with us! Summer Adventures Day Camp begins at the end of the school year and runs the summer. Themed weeks make your child’s summer super fun, in an educational and structred environment. Activities include: crafts, swimming, field trips, character development, gym activities, social interactions and outdoor playtime. Register by the week or for the whole summer. Bring your lunch, swim suit and towel and tennis shoes every day.

‘Tween QC X-periences

departing daily from the Davenport Family YMCA Tweens! Come and hang out with us! Tween camp will begin at the end of the school year and runs through August 5. Themed weeks will make your child’s summer fun and educational in a structured environment. There will be field trips outside of the YMCA branch on a daily basis, we will be using the Summmer Kid’s Pass to ride the bus to various locations around the Quad Cities (for example, city of davenport pools, Figge Art Museum, Putnam Museum, Davenport public libraries etc). The Y staff team will watch your children and have tons of fun and exciting activities throughout the evening; including: arts & crafts, swimming, movies and gym time. Kids Club Kid’s Club is an exciting program for children in elementary school. We offer child care in the Bettendorf and Pleasant Valley Community School Districts before and after school. Our certified, caring and highly-trained staff offer children a safe and healthy environment where they have a wonderful enriching experience that entertains while still instilling our core values and life lessons. Summer Fun Club Since there is no school how can Kids Club operate during the summer? We’re glad you asked! We offer a summer child care program for elementary school aged children that brings summer fun to a whole new level, which is why we call it Summer Fun Club. Summer Fun Club is offered to any child who has successfully completed Kindergarten through fifth grade. We offer care from 6 AM- 6 PM at Riverdale Heights Elementary School. **We are sorry to announce that as of Summer 2014, we will no longer be offering Summer Fun Club at the Downtown Davenport YMCA location. ymca swim lessons @ pV high school CONDENSED SWIM LESSONS FOR BUSY FAMILIES! The Bettendorf Family YMCA will be offering condensed YMCA Swim Lessons at Pleasant Valley High School Pool for the Summer 2014! Lessons will meet Monday thru Thursday for two weeks. Three 2 -week sessions will be offered. Children ages 3-14 will be divided into groups based on age and ability and will progress through YMCA Swim Lesson Levels. Classes are 45 minutes in length and two times are offered per session (9:15-10am & 10:15-11am). Cost is $40 per child per session for Y Members; $60 per child per session for non-Y Members. Sessions: I: June 16-26

II: June 30-July 10

Pike-Eel-Ray/Starfish are for preschoolers ages 3-5 SWIM ACADEMY Pike

Beginner – child will not put face in water and cannot float independently.  This beginner course requires no previous experience in swimming.  Children are introduced to the paddle stroke on the front, back and side. Just like the lower student to instructor ratio of 3 children to 1 instructor to provide more one-on-one attention for each child. CLASS

New Martial Arts Programs at West and Downtown The ancient martial arts have been uniting the spirit, mind and body for longer than even the YMCA. And that’s quite a long time! We’ve added a couple new programs to appeal to kids and families, as well as active adults and seniors.

Tae Kwon Do at the West YMCA Used to promote a healthy lifestyle that includes a healthy mixture of nutrition, training, and rest. Physical development also helps develop self-confidence.
