Saint Vincent de Paul Society Advocate Collection This Weekend 28/29 March This weekend, the Saint Vincent de Paul Society are holding their annual Advocate Collection outside all churches. This will be an outdoor collection. The proceeds will go to the Sunshine Fund which provides summer holidays for children who otherwise would not experience a good holiday. Please support generously. Brian O’Keeffe RIP - Newcastle Brian O’Keeffe, formerly of Main Street, Newcastle died in England recently. He will be specially remembered at Mass in Newcastle this weekend, on Saturday 28th March at 7.00pm. Brian’s mortal remains were cremated, and his ashes will be in St. Finian’s Church on the evening of March 28th. Coffee Morning in aid of Pieta House Lucan A coffee morning in aid of Pieta House in Lucan will be held in ‘The Boutique’ Rathcoole Shopping Centre on Thursday 2nd April from 10am onwards. Pieta House assists young people who may be at risk of depression, self-harm and suicide.

Divine Mercy Novena: Good Friday—Divine Mercy Sunday The Divine Mercy Novena begins on Good Friday and finishes on Divine Mercy Sunday (April 12th). To participate in the Divine Mercy Novena, pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet on the 9 days from Good Friday to Divine Mercy Sunday. You can pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet on a rosary beads as follows: A. Optional Opening Prayers You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls, and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us. B. O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You! (Repeat B three times) C. Recite the Our Father, the Hail Mary & the Apostle's Creed D. On the large bead of each decade recite the Eternal Father: ‘Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.’ On the Ten Small Beads of Each Decade recite: ‘For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.’ Repeat D for the remaining four decades E. Recite this prayer three times: ‘Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.’ F. Optional Closing Prayer Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion — inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself.
