2017-2018 HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP GEORGETOWN INSTITUTE FOR WOMEN, PEACE AND SECURITY The Hillary Rodham Clinton Research Fellowship Program will provide opportunities to a recent graduate to conduct academically rigorous, practically relevant, policy-oriented research to address key urgent knowledge gaps in the field of women, peace and security. Through the fellowship, this individual, while based at the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security in Washington, D.C., will undertake an agreed research program, working together with Institute staff, other fellows and external partners. The research is expected to involve some international travel, and generate research papers that will be published by the Institute and submitted to peer reviewed journals. The fellowship will also provide opportunities to present and disseminate the findings. By training, equipping and supporting a growing corps of young researchers, the Hillary Rodham Clinton Research Fellowship program will not only inform global leaders in the field of women, peace and security, but will help shape the agenda. To be eligible, applicants must be in their final semester of graduate school or be no more than three years past receiving their graduate degrees. Successful candidates are also expected to have: - Excellent written and oral communications skills - A strong academic record with a graduate degree in economics, law, political science, public policy, conflict resolution, international or national security, international development, international relations or a related field - A demonstrated interest in and commitment to closing gender gaps and other dimensions of inequality - Skills in qualitative and/or quantitative research methodologies are required - Experience in developing countries is preferred - Record of publishing online and/or print outlets is desirable. The annual compensation for the annual full-time fellowship is $45,000 plus benefits. This will be administered in a monthly stipend form and will not include medical, retirement or other benefits.
