Preface: 2nd International Conference on Natural Language and Speech Processing (ICNLSP 2018) The second International Conference on Natural Language and Speech Processing (ICNLSP 2018) took place in Algiers, Algeria, between the 25th and 26th of April 2018. ICNLSP 2018 was held in the National Library, situated in the heart of the capital, near one of the most unique and beautiful gardens in Algeria, the Botanical Garden Hamma, created in 1832. The first edition of ICNLSP was held between the 18th and 19th of October 2015, at Emir Hotel in Algiers, Algeria. ICNLSP 2018 is an opportunity and a forum for researchers and students to exchange ideas and discuss research and trends in the field of Natural Language Processing and Speech Processing. This volume contains the papers presented at ICNLSP 2018. There were 88 submissions, and each submission was reviewed by 3 program committee members. The committee decided to accept 33 papers. The program also includes two invited talks: Gérard Chollet, emeritus researcher from Intelligent Voice (UK), presented a keynote entitled Privacy Preserving Speech Processing. The second keynote was given by Djamel Bouchaffra, professor at CDTA (Algeria) and his talk was about Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Challenges. The participants who attended ICNLSP 2018 came from many countries: Algeria, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Hong Kong, Czech Republic, Egypt, France and Turkey. My acknowledgements go to the Scientific and Technical Research Center for Arabic, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Directorate General for Scientific Research and Technological Development and the National Library for the sponsorship of the conference. I would like to express my deep appreciation to the local organizing committee and to the program committee members and reviewers for their valuable reviews.
