Price Tag Jessie J (feat. B.o.B.) Seems like everybody's got a price I wonder how they sleep at night When the tale comes first And the truth comes second Just stop, for a minute and Smile Why is everybody so serious Acting so damn mysterious You got your shades on your eyes And your heels so high That you can't even have a good time Everybody look to their left (yeah) Everybody look to their right (ha) Can you feel that (yeah) Well pay them with love tonight It's not about the money, money, money We don't need your money, money, money We just wanna make the world dance Forget about the price tag Ain't about the (ha) ChaChing Cha-Ching Ain't about the (yeah) BaBling Ba-Bling Wanna make the world dance Forget about the price tag We need to take it back in time When music made us all unite And it wasn't low blows and video hoes

Am I the only one getting' tired Why is everybody so obsessed Money can't buy us happiness Can we all slow down and enjoy right now Guarantee we'll be feelin' all right

es, it's all happening in Colombo - cricket luv'ly cricket! Everything else is sidelined. For the next few weeks, it will be all cricket, with lots of 'experts' giving their views, etc., on the games being played. And why not they need to have their say as well! In fact, a whole lot of musicians and radio stations have all come up with their official cricket songs to support Sri Lanka as they do battle at the ICC Cricket World Cup tournament. Support is always welcomed but, unfortunately, not all the tracks released have reached the required standard where the music and lyrics are concerned. In some instances, the music has been copied from international hit songs. Perhaps, they all want to be a part of the action - so anything goes, I suppose! This is very similar to what happened when Murali made the history books as a bowler. Lots of tribute songs were churned out by local artistes, but a good many of them were putrid and didn't do justice to Murali's achievements. These are some of the better songs, connected with the World Cup, which are now being heard and seen locally: Land Of The Lions

There are three versions to this song - English, Sinhala and trilingual. The English version was done by Sohan (of Sohan & The XPeriments fame). The songs are in

Singha Nadaya Rawde

This particular World Cup Cricket song is performed by Chandani Hettiarachchi, along with Jacqualine, Marlon and Thilina. I guess we all need to wish our cricketers the best of luck for the tougher games to come - against Pakistan this Saturday (February 26th), the battle with Australia on Saturday, March 5th, and also New Zealand, on Friday, March 18th. I hope, at the end of it all, we would all be able to sing (or shout out loud): Cricket luv'ly Cricket, it happened in swinging Colombo; Pakistan and Australia tried their best, but we were better than the best. We gave the crowd plenty of fun; and triumphed over the rest!

Lion Nation

A collaboration song Iraj featuring Jayasri. "Lion Nation" is a mixture of house, trance, with reggae oriented English vocal hookline, written by Rohitha, and sung by Jayasri, with Iraj´s Sinhala vocals.

Grandma Lozaine! W

hat! Lozaine Paul a grandma? No, it can't be true. Or is it? Well, the answer is…yes, it's happening. Lozaine was one of our top female vocalists before she left to settle down Australia. She was very popular with the crowd and was associated with several top local bands. Chatting with her last week, she indicated to me that she is going to be a grandma soon, and that came to me as a very big surprise! I haven't seen her in ages, but I've always pictured her as a very young girl, with no strings attached.

And all I…yes, all I need are keys and garage And guess what, in 30 seconds I'm leaving to Mars Yes, we leaving across these undefeatable odds It's like this, man, you can't put a price on life We do this for the love so we fight and sacrifice every night So we ain't goin' stumble and fall never Waiting to see, a sign of defeat, uh, uh So we goin' to keep everyone moving their feet So bring back the beat and everybody sing It's not about

Performed by Alston Koch, the song was recorded in Australia, while the visuals were done in Colombo. Adda Lanuwa Demma Kodiya Ceylon Ekata

Yeah, yeah, well, keep the price tag And take the cash back Just give me six streams and a half stack And you can keep the cars Leave me the garage

Yeah, yeah, oo-oooh Forget about the price tag *Sent by: Kylie (Pretty Girl) of Colombo

Lahiru Chathushka and Rajiv himself. The lyrics of this song highlight the history of our cricket, our culture and the ethics of the game.

But Lozaine has got a big daughter, who said "I do" just recently, and the proud and happy mom gleefully said she's going to be a grandma before long. Lozaine had her own band, called Rendezvous, and did the Melbourne scene for almost six years. However, that's all over now and Lozaine is looking at a solo career. "I'm now free to do my own thing and also perform with several other bands, as a guest artiste." Lozaine was to travel to Colombo for the World Cup cricket but has now postponed her trip for December (2011).

Seen 'n' Heard HEARD…he likes to blow his own trumpet, on behalf of his daughter. She is nowhere near the kind of singer she is purported to be less than average, in fact! Whatever recordings she has done to date are putrid - sounding very much like a cat on a hot tin roof ! However, he keeps telling folks, not familiar with our scene, that she is a household name in this part of the world. Surprisingly, no one has ever heard of her!

Justin Bieber brags about kissing Rihanna J

ustin Bieber bragged about stealing kisses from Rihanna and Cheryl Cole as he went to accept his BRIT Award last week (February 15th, 2011). The Canadian teen heartthrob won the International Breakthrough Act trophy, and admitted he sneaked kisses from the glamorous female singers as he went up to collect it. He tweeted: "I got nervous up there and couldn't remember anything. Lol. I did get to kiss cherylcole and rihanna on my way to the stage. #swag lol (sic)." Rihanna had earlier performed a sexy medley of her tracks 'Only Girl In The World', 'S&M' and 'What's My Name' during the show, while Cheryl presented the International Female Award to her. 'Runaway Love' star Justin, 16, also dedicated his award to his minder during his acceptance speech, even getting him to join him on stage to share the trophy. Justin said: "I don't really know what to say. I want to thank my fans - all you guys are amazing. I want to thank the label over

here, and Michael. Over here, you get an international rep who travels with you all the time, so Mike, come up here, I want to share this with you. You're awesome." He also hugged singer, Avril Lavigne, as he left the stage, saying: "And a fellow Canadian right here! Thank you so much everybody." Justin also told the show host, James Corden, he was enjoying listening to 'Price Tag' singer Jessie J, who was given the Critic's Choice Award on the night.
