Mark your calendars for Thursday, July 14, 2016! Join the WAA for the Summer Conference and Picnic at the Lussier Family Heritage Center in Madison. The Program Committee has put together another amazing line-up for this event. We are offering Two Tracks of Education to have something for everyone including information for climbers, planting information, and insect and disease information. This year’s line-up includes the one and only Chris Williamson bringing to light the important insect pests of the day, what’s new with EAB, and plant health care tips to save the day. Brian Hudelson will help you take a crack at how to identify common and emerging tree diseases and what current management strategies and treatments to use. The dynamic duo of Laura Jull and Dan Traas will discuss and demonstrate proper tree planting, considerations for plant

establishment and how to get the plant rooted firmly to branch ahead in life. A concurrent track will feature Aaron Schauer and Ryan Rodefer who will discuss the basics of tree support systems and how to advance your skills and support trees and reduce a tree risk. Colin Bugg will also help us examine different approaches to accessing different parts of the tree, making decisions on how complex you need to get depending on how much time you will be spending in a certain area. Just to make sure you can catch every topic, they will be repeated during the day so you won’t have to miss anything! Between the breaks, plan to bring your hunger on and enjoy a BBQ feast. Yes extra sauce and napkins are available. We look forward to seeing you in Madison!
