A Hundred Minus One Day A Piece of New Writing by Idgie Beau -Press Releasewww.anothersoup.co.uk ahundredminusoneday.com

Jen has lived independently for a long time, but having been diagnosed with an incurable illness, she has had to move home to be looked after by her dad. Upon arriving, she has to, quite literally, face up to her past in the form of her long-forgotten friend, Daphne, who unexpectedly turns up, and begins to cause all sorts of trouble, something Jen has become unfamiliar with. A Hundred Minus One Day is a touching comedy, with a deep heart. "If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you." - A. A. Milne Having received rave reviews and standing ovations at Durham Drama Festival 2013 (DDF 2013), Another Soup Productions returns to the Edinburgh Fringe for the first time since 2011 (Sleeping Beauty, **** Broadway Baby) and brings you Idgie Beau's A Hundred Minus One Day. Described as “one of the finest female partnerships seen on a DST stage this year”, Durham Theatre Review, Jen and Daphne's story of ever-lasting friendship is brought to life in a way that is “understated and intimately beautiful”, The Bubble. Part fantasy, part comedy, part tragedy, A Hundred Minus One Day makes you wish you had a friend like Daphne. It is a trip down memory lane but with a few unfamiliar twists - after all, leaving your childhood behind is a difficult thing to do, especially when it refuses to leave you alone! A Hundred Minus One Day is Another Soup’s latest project, following on from the huge sell-out success of their recent two-run original musical adaptation of the Sweeney Todd tale, which took place in Durham’s Indoor Market during March and June, as a site-specific promenade experience. Playwright, Idgie Beau, as well as playing Daphne in A Hundred Minus One Day, dives into her new role, having received wide acclaim as Mrs Lovett in Sweeney Todd & the String of Pearls - “it is Idgie Beau who steals the show as Mrs Lovett […] Slipping between murderousness, lechery and comedy, hers is perhaps the most challenging role and she handles it spectacularly”, First Night.
