Course Description: The discipline of accounting and the work of accountants are introduced in two courses. Elements of financial accounting are covered in the first course as they relate to the preparation and use of accounting reports for business entities, emphasizing accounting as a provider of financial information for external reporting purposes (ACC 201).The language of business is accounting and students will learn how business information is captured, developed and communicated to the intended users. Elements of managerial accounting are covered in the second course as they relate to the internal use of accounting information in making business decisions and controlling business operations (ACC 202).
