We are contacting you as the CHAMPION or CO-CHAMPION from your institution to provide official notice of the annual business meeting of the Council to take place as follows: Annual Business Meeting Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs June 29, 2014 3:00 pm Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile Chicago, Illinois, USA Report of Nominating Committee—Directors and Officers In a previous notice and in the Spring issue of ACBSP Update, we provided a report of the Nominating Committee with opportunity for submittal of write-in candidates. The deadline for write-in candidates has passed without submittal of additional names. Therefore, the following names as proposed by the Nominating Committee for officer and director positions will be presented for approval. President Elect: Andy Saucedo, NMSU—Dona Ana Community College Secretary: Dewayne Thompson, Lee University Director At-Large, Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree: Ronald Galloway, Northwest Nazarene University Report of Bylaws Committee The ACBSP Bylaws Committee is proposing changes in the bylaws. This is official notice of these proposed changes as required by the bylaws. Prior to being presented to the membership for approval, the changes must be approved by all three governing boards during their meetings on June 26 in Chicago. Copies of the proposed changes are available for download. We will not provide copies to each person during the meeting. You will be able to view the content on a projector screen and the document will be included on the print station at the Conference. If you require a full copy, please print and bring with you to Chicago. The bylaws provide changes must be ratified by a two-thirds vote of the Council members during the business meeting on Sunday. Since these amendments concern accreditation issues they must also be approved by a two-thirds vote of the members of each Commission. This will occur during the Commission meetings on Saturday. They will be presented for approval at all three annual meetings.

All are three-year terms. Don Carlson, Skyline College Gary Mrozinski, Luzerne County Community College Ed Vineyard, Northern Oklahoma College Voting Procedures at Annual Meeting As provided in the bylaws, each full dues paying educational institution member will have a right to vote at any annual meeting. This vote will normally be cast by the CHAMPION. If a CO-CHAMPION has been designated, this person may cast a vote on behalf of the institution. At any time the CHAMPION may designate an individual other than the CO-CHAMPION to vote on behalf of the institution by providing written notice to the ACBSP headquarters (
[email protected]) in advance of the meeting or by the designated individual presenting such authorization at the meeting. In the absence of a designation and attendance by the CHAMPION and CO-CHAMPION, another individual affiliated with the institution may be designated by the presiding officer to cast votes on behalf of the institution only if approved by the qualified body so assembled. Special Issue of Celebrating 25 Years for CHAMPIONS and CO-CHAMPIONS Our April 11 issue of our conference newsletter, Celebrating 25 Years, provided reasons and incentives to our CHAMPIONS and CO-CHAMPIONS to be present in Chicago to help fulfill their roles as the ACBSP representatives on their campus. The issue was included in a dues invoice mailed to all members with an advance copy of the April 18 issue describing the many ways we will celebrate our 25th Anniversary which is page two of the download link shown above. We invite your download of this issue for your use and to encourage others on campus to support your financial request to attend the Annual Conference. Seeking Managing Editor for Transnational Journal of Business Earlier this month, the Scholar-Practitioner Publications Committee released a new advertisement for the position of Managing Editor of our new scholarly journal, the Transnational Journal of Business. We invite you to encourage persons with experience in writing and reviewing for scholarly publications to apply for the prestigious position. This could be you. It includes a small stipend and all expenses paid to the Annual Conference each year and the International Conference every third year.
