At Allianz Engineering, working in partnership with some of our approved suppliers, we have put together bespoke services that can help you with your legal requirements and obligations. Fire Risk Assessment (FRA)
Fire Extinguisher Maintenance
The main legislation relating to Fire Risk Assessments is the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations, as amended in 1999. In 2006 the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order was introduced aiming to assist with the regulatory requirements of the FRA.
In accordance with BS5306-3:2009 fire extinguishers should have a full annual service. Our approved partners would complete this annual service and maintenance, providing all spares and refilling fully or partly discharged extinguishers. A full visual inspection of all extinguishers will be performed to identify signs of tampering, abuse, corrosion and use and a visible sticker and certificate of attendance will be provided. Also available are replacement fire extinguishers should they be required.
The completion of a Fire Risk Assessment will enable the current level of compliance against the relevant legislation to be assessed. It will assess the risk and indicate appropriate actions to ensure acceptable levels of risk for the health & safety of employees, customers, suppliers and visitors to your premises. A report will be provided with a list of actions in a prioritised format along with assistance in implementing these actions. It will also include a review of your existing documentation and a series of visual observations and inspections. Key elements of the FRA include: • Sources of ignition • Sources of fuel • Sources of oxygen • Housekeeping and storage • Maintenance of electrical systems • Means of escape including signs and notices • Fire systems and means of detection • Fire extinguishers and other systems • Employee awareness and training • Evacuation drills • Emergency plans.
