Event of the Berlin Wall This event was held in alliance with "Students for Liberty" as part of the Anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. This activity was intended to reflect the importance that have the value of liberty in any society. Thus, young people were encouraged to make a false wall in which they wrote their thoughts and perceptions of what is totalitarianism in the Venezuelan today society. This activity was done in four (4) different universities in the Capital Sector:
Central University of Venezuela
Andrés Bello Catholic University
Monte Avila University
Metropolitan University
Course about Ayn Rand at the Andres Bello Catholic University The course about Ayn Rand at UCAB, is a cathedra that consist in the sociology of the company, dictated by Prof. Victor Maldonado. This cathedra is based on the book by Ayn Rand called "Atlas Shrugged", which presents the conflict of two main antagonists or two opposing attitudes towards life: the axis "reason-individualism-capitalism", versus the axis "mysticism-altruism-collectivism."
Thus, this course aims to establish the fundamental differences between these two forms of life, and how this affect or delay the progress of a country. In Venezuela, this is a particularly important issue, because "collectivism" is an axis that is invading our society, provoking severe social, economic and political. In this cathedra, the students are on task to obtain, read and discuss the book of Rand, so we bring 200 copies annual from the "Cristo Sagrado" Editorial of Argentina.
