Architectural Drafting Using AutoCAD Adding Multileader Styles Template Development Objectives You will complete the following task during this stage of template development: Define multileader styles. The next stage of template development involves adding multileader styles to use for dimensioning drawings. The templates you create in this book focus on specific architectural drafting practices and use exact multileader styles, set according to drafting industry standards. Guidelines for creating annotative and non-annotative multileader styles are provided. These styles represent basic multileader styles used for general drafting requirements. A template often contains additional multileader styles set up for specific purposes.

Architectural Drafting—US Customary Template Multileader Styles Follow these steps to add multileader styles to the US Customary unit architectural drafting template. The specified multileader styles are set according to appropriate drafting standards and can be used for general dimensioning of many drawing projects. You will have to create additional multileader styles for specific applications. 1. Access the Select File dialog box to open the Architectural-US template file. Remember, you are opening the existing template file using the OPEN tool, not creating a drawing based on a template file using the NEW tool. 2. Create a new non-annotative multileader style according to the following settings: • Name: Architectural US • Leader type: Spline • Color: ByBlock • Linetype: ByBlock • Lineweight: ByBlock • Arrowhead size: 1/8″ • Break size: 1/8″ • Maximum leader points: 2 • Do not define segment angles • Specify scale: 1 • Multileader type: Mtext • No default text • Text style: Stylus BT • Text angle: Keep horizontal • Text color: ByBlock • Text height: 1/8″ • Do not always left justify Copyright by Goodheart-Willcox Co., Inc.
