ADDRESSING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN UNDERSERVED POPULATIONS Register at: dvinunderservedpopulations.eventbrite.com

Domestic violence is common in every culture and affects every age group, and it can happen to anyone irrespective of race, age, sexual orientation, religion, or gender. It can adversely affect the emotional and psychological state of a survivor which may lead to serious mental disorders. It is often a challenge to reach to underserved victims which eventually makes it difficult to provide information about the services available relevant to their needs.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2015 1:00PM–5:00PM

ROSE ROOM

Bellevue Hospital 462 1st Avenue New York, NY 10016

The goal of this program is to address how best to address the mental health issues stemming from domestic violence in diverse populations. In addition to the presentations from subject matter experts, the program will also host a panel discussion which will provide a platform for service providers to present the range of mental health services available for the community. American Psychiatric Association’s Division of Diversity and Health Equity is proud to bring its ON TOUR program to New York City to raise awareness about domestic violence in underserved populations.
