Administration Volunteer A volunteer is needed to help with basic administration duties here at the Volunteer Centre.
We are flexible, so we can work around when you are free. You’ll be responsible for making phone calls, database entry and filing etc.. If you want some experience working in an office, get in touch.

Befrienders Have you got a couple of hours a week to have a chat with a lonely person? We need caring people to come forward to visit isolated people, especially in the Dordon area. You will visit the person on a regular basis. You’ll have a cuppa with them and get to know them. You will get support and training from the Volunteer Centre North Warwickshire through their Help at Hand project.

Events Volunteer Dynamic individuals are needed to help deliver an exciting programme of heritage events. The Tame Valley Wetlands is holding willow sculpturing, bush craft and tai chi sessions at North Warwickshire’s country parks, Middleton Lakes and Tamworth Castle. You will need to be outgoing and enthusiastic, with an interest in your natural and cultural heritage. Some knowledge of wildlife and conservation is a plus, but not necessary. You will just need to be full of initiative, be reliable and be comfortable working with members of the public.

Fundraiser British Blind Sport wants to raise as much money as it can, but will need the help of volunteers! Working with the Fundraising Manager you will research how the charity can bring in more cash as well as raise its profile to potential funders. There will also be the chance to get involved in the organisation of events, particularly the upcoming 40th anniversary gala dinner.
The charity is looking for someone with good organisational and computer skills, who is flexible and can work as part of a team. Back Up
Groundstaff A local football club in North Warwickshire needs more people to help it continue to offer football to four to eighteen year olds. Hurley Kings FC is looking for people to join their ground staff team. You will be responsible for cutting the grass, using ride on equipment. You will also be trained in pitch line marking, so the lines of the football pitch area can be maintained. There will also be general tidying to do. It will only take up to four hours of your time a week, but you will be benefiting a lot of people.

Head Cashier An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone interested in administration, money and customer service. The New Central Credit Union is inviting a volunteer to join them on a Thursday or Friday morning to learn more about what they do and to boost their skills. In a friendly, relaxed office in Atherstone you will be handling money, taking phone calls, assisting with paper work, filing and sorting out emails. Money Mentor A financial advice giving service in North Warwickshire is now looking for people to help other people with their money. Also known as a Financial Capability Worker you will be helping local people improve their finances, by helping them with budgeting, spending and borrowing decisions. Based at the Citizens Advice Bureau in Atherstone, you will be given full training and support. Volunteers usually commit to one to two days a week 9 – 4.30pm for at least twelve months.

Kitchen Volunteer Hurley Football Club is also looking for someone to help out in their kitchen. You will mainly be serving hot and cold drinks, but there could be some very basic food preparation. You’ll also be taking payment from customers, tidying and cleaning up. Back Up
North Warwickshire Community Hubs A number of volunteering opportunities have come up in the community hubs in North Warwickshire. Community hubs offer free computer use and a free phone to ten useful organisations. Arley Hub – Need people to open the hub, help people use the video conferencing facilities and log on to the Internet. They are looking for volunteers who are free on a Monday or Thursday morning. Dordon Hub – People are wanted to run a computer club once a week. You will help set it up and promote it to local people. You will need a basic knowledge of how to use a laptop and internet. The hub is currently open on Friday morning, but would like to open more on other days if volunteers come forward. Water Orton Hub - is looking for someone to help develop the hub. You will have a creative mind and have ideas of how to promote the hub to get more people using it. You will also be working with local organisations to encourage them to use the hub for information sessions and to promote their services to people in Water Orton. All of North Warwickshire’s Community Hubs offer free computer use and encourage more people to use the Internet. They all promote the UK Online www.learnmyway.com courses which guide people through a series of modules to help them learn how to log on, set up an email, shop and bank online. Volunteers are always needed in the hubs to run computer clubs and mentor other people to effectively use the worldwide web. Back Up
Outdoor Volunteer
Got nothing to do on a Friday – why not help out at Kingsbury Water Park. They have an outdoor working group who meet every Friday to maintain the country park. Every week is different! You might be making a bird box to clearing a path or mending a fence. Interested meet at the Visitor centre on Friday at 9am wearing suitable, warm clothes for working in all weathers. Refreshments will be provided. A flexible volunteering opportunity where you can stay as long as you want and you don’t have to commit to every Friday. A great way to meet new people!

Receptionists A residential home in Atherstone is looking for people to sit on their brand new reception desk. Bracebridge Court launched its new look buildings in the summer and would like a volunteer to meet and greet people as they come into the home, as well as answer the phones. Opportunities are available weekly, either mornings or afternoons. Back Up
Retail Charity Shop Volunteer A charity shop in Atherstone needs more help. The Myton Hospice is looking for people to join the team to help them sort, steam and prepare stock for the shop floor. There will also be opportunities serving customers and operating the till. If you would like some retail work experience, this is the opportunity for you.

Rhyme Time Volunteer Are you a wiz at singing nursery rhymes? A North Warwickshire library is looking for volunteers on a Friday to help run their fun sessions for children.
You’ll be leading the singing and telling stories to young children at Water Orton Library. The opportunity is flexible, so you can get involved every week or on a rota basis. Back Up
Towpath Task Force Get involved and make a difference to your local canal or river. Fortnightly, on Thursday mornings there is a work group who meet up on the canals around Atherstone and Nuneaton. Tasks include painting, planting, weeding, litter clearance and general maintenance. Back Up
Trustees The North Warwickshire Citizens Advice Bureau is also looking for new people to sit on their board of trustees. Trustees play an active and vital role in the success of a bureau, so it is important, that new people interested in this role can attend four board meetings a year, usually held in the evenings. The Board has overall responsibility for the management of the bureau and works closely with the Manager. They are looking for volunteers who feel that their work and life experiences would have a positive impact on the board and the work of the Bureau. Board members need to be able to work effectively as a team, have good communication skills, and be able to think creatively and strategically. Back Up
Wildlife Hero Warwickshire Wildlife Trust wants to raise its profile and needs your help. People who are passionate about their natural environment need to come forward to help with events, activities and fundraising. You can get involved by helping to organise a stall at a local fete, by distributing promotional leaflets and posters, selling merchandise or by holding a bucket collection at your local supermarket.
There are lots of things to do and the trust is open to new ideas that will help them get more support.
