Accreditation The Bachelor of Engineering degree program in Aerospace Engineering is fully accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB). Graduates are academically qualified to obtain a Professional Engineering Licence (P.Eng.), once all work experience requirements are met. Specialization in Management Science Aerospace offers the opportunity to combine engineering skills with a solid foundation in management sciences through an optional specialization in Management Science. Tailored to prepare graduates for careers in engineering or applied science management, this option also prepares them for management-related graduate studies or an MBA program. Ryerson Institute for Aerospace Design and Innovation Students wishing to gain industrial experience through short-term projects can apply to the Ryerson Institute for Aerospace Design and Innovation (RIADI). RIADI places students with a participating industrial corporation, usually over the summer term, to work on a specific engineering project. Over the summer, students gain valuable work experience and earn wages consistent with junior engineering employees. Industrial Internship Program Third-year students with a clear academic standing may opt to enrol in the Industrial Internship Program (IIP). If selected by one of the partner corporations, a student interns for a period of 12 – 16 months. After the completion of the industrial internship, students return to the academic program to complete their final year of study. Enrolment in the IIP extends the undergraduate program to five years. Student Design Groups Students have the option to participate in a number of design groups whose members apply their knowledge in competitions with other universities. The Ryerson Aerospace Design (RAD) group participates in the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Aero Design Competition. The objective is to design and construct a remotely-controlled model aircraft that can carry a payload. The Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute (CASI) Design Group recently won first place in the CASI FreeFlight Model Glider Competition. The Ryerson Rocketry Club designs and constructs rockets for competition in local model rocketry events.
