Two bridges are being replaced at TWP RD 232 west of Balsam Ave in West Bragg Creek from August 8 through to mid-October 2012 (71951 & 72847 on the map). Traffic will be reduced to a one-lane detour bridge and controlled by traffic signals. Expect delays. For more information visit the Road Updates Centre at www.rockyview.ca.

Assessment personnel have personal photo identification as well as marked vehicles (Rocky View County logo on vehicle doors). Physical inspections to gather field data are under way to assist in the updating of assessment values for 2012. All staff are trained assessment professionals. If you have purchased a property larger than 10 acres in Rocky View in the last year and are applying for “farm status”, a questionnaire is required to be filed with the County. The forms are to be received by the County by November 9, 2012. Copies of this form can be requested from Assessment Services. The filing of this form, in itself, does not qualify the parcel for farm status. Legislative requirements must also be satisfied in order to receive this classification. If you have any questions or inquiries please call Assessment Services at 403.230.1401. Thank you for assistance and cooperation in working with the Assessors.

Rocky View County is implementing a general assessment for the 2013 Taxation Year. Provincial legislation requires that all municipalities prepare annual General Assessments on the market value system. Market value assessments are used for most property types but primarily for residential and non-residential assessment categories. Inspections are required for completion of this task by County Assessment personnel.
