SUSTAINABLE PAINT Graphenstone range of coatings meets high quality standards, being the perfect solution for facades decoration and embellishment, walls and ceilings. Graphenstone is the most sustainable and ecological coating for both indoor and outdoor projects. It is made from a hydrated lime base or calcium hydroxide Ca(OH)2, traditionally obtained with artisanal techniques which results in exceptional quality. Graphenstone products provide significant benefits for the environment: reduces CO2 in the air; recycling unused raw materials, promotes energy savings in buildings, and leaves no carbon footprint during manufacturing and application. Construction practices focused on building ecosustainability and health improvement of inhabitants are encouraged with Graphenstone. Our materials sanitize the environment creating healthier indoor conditions, free of bacteria and molds, and provide high energy and environmental standards in buildings. Graphenstone is a great natural anti-bacterial and antifungicidal agent, in addition to actively promote ventilation and indoor pollutants disollution, which prevents microbial growth of molds and bacteria.

Solavinea Solar Pergola SOLAVINEA – The Solar Pergola – follows the principle that energy is never lost in nature. Conventional shading devices have one purpose which is to block sunlight. SOLAVINEA goes further by not only providing shade, but also collecting sunlight to turn into reusable energy from its rotatable solar panels. SOLAVINEA can be used to power your home, store in batteries for later use, or even be fed to an energy grid. The inventor Jürgen Grimmeisen and his team have developed a pergola using a built-in photovoltaic system that meets the utmost requirements with regards to technology, functionality and aesthetics. The photovoltaic modules are made from monocrystalline, and therefore are dark unobtrusive solar cells, which are laminated using a special form of glass. This facilitates the highest possible degree of efficiency, as well as a very aesthetically pleasing look. SOLAVINEA turns your terrace into a living room. Its slender and timeless design – provided by Schweizer Design Consulting, an internationally renowned design agency – integrates

in almost any given environment. SOLAVINEA is highly customizable with different sizes and colors to adapt perfectly to every house or terrace. The advanced technology of SOLAVINEA combines temperature, light, and rain sensors to optimally align the lamellae to provide the highest degree of shade and energy efficiency. SOLAVINEA can be operated by a remote control or a smartphone app. SOLAVINEA can detect any bad weather events, and will close the lamellae to channel rain water to an invisible gutter system. SOLAVINEA keeps snow and ice out during winter to store as much heat as possible underneath the high-tech aluminum structure. Finally, you can customize your SOLAVINEA system with infrared heaters, ambient lights or a weather proof sound system. SOLAVINEA fits the highest security standard by using 60 V max, and the operation is secured by a built-in isolating switch. Planning and installation services are complementary.

Soil Chain™ system Soil Chain™ system is an invention which combines global practices of Mechanical Stabilize Earth (MSE), Geo-technical, Environmental and Bio-engineering, which allows various kind of permanent civil structures to be construct without using any conventional hard material or substance that could cause chemical reaction. It is a truly ecological engineering which capable to construct civil structure with shear strength for supporting lateral earth pressure, load surcharge, earth retaining and erosion protection, on both earth embankment or even areas where land and water meets. Happened that, Soil Chain™ is also a root friendly system which allows various kinds of vegetation and root ball to be healthy growth, which the design ideology was to generate carbon sinking effects to reduce

carbon footprint, while producing cooler and sustainable environment. On a separate note, the application further maintains bio-diversity, protects wildlife habitats, while it construction process further helps to reduce pollution, while eliminating greenhouse gases emission and wastage of nature resources which caused by those conventional construction materials and it methods. It is an ambitious invention which further designed to mitigating climate conditions, so to being able to continuously improving human's living, while producing both environmental and society benefits. Our objectives was to create future permanent eco-structures to be able to return back to the mother nature… Earth!

Fassendkonstruktion aus CFK Profilen Low weight but high mechanical strength – this characterises carbon fibre reinforced plastic. Not least because of this is this material used in the aviation and aerospace industry, increasingly in automotive applications and in modern wind energy plants. This feature also lends itself to façade construction. Apart from its high static values, carbon fibre reinforced plastic also convinces by its aesthetics. This enables façade constructions with an extremely slim and delicate appearance, combined with a subtle optic provided by the carbon, which already enjoys immense popularity in many sectors. But it is not only the appearance of this façade construction of the future that convinces; benefit and functionality also have several positive aspects. A highly thermally insulated glass façade can thus be individually realised in terms of size and static requirements. In addition, the construction can be combined with the conventional RAICO façade systems made of steel, aluminium or wood. Here special emphasis is placed on the re-using aspect. Compared with conventional façade constructions, the structural profiles are not especially produced solely for this purpose, but rather the "waste

product" of wind energy plants is utilised, which would otherwise have no further use. Using the CFRP bars from the wind energy rotors as structural façade profiles starts off a new life cycle profile and hence a second utilisation option. Further processing of the CFRP bars also proves to be extremely environmentally friendly, as the structural profiles from the bars are cut by water jet. By additional conditioning using environmentally compatible lacquer systems, this material can be customised and made in furniture quality. The crosssections of the carbon fibre blades can be adapted to the requirements of any façade using the existing cross-sections and flexible production. Cut-outs within the profiles are also possible without any problems. The quality requirements on this material are extremely high, as it is subject to extremely high static requirements in its original use. This façade construction is unique on the market so far and would form the basis for the submission of a design sample with regard to its extraordinary appearance.

Haussicht ‘Haussicht’ – A Vision of Living In terms of healthy living, Baufritz believes in exacting internal standards and a construction method that's consistently sustainable, down to the smallest detail. Since the early 80s we’ve been striving to make buildings that leave as little footprint on our environment as possible. We therefore see sustainability as our responsibility, and not as an arising trend. Our ‘Haussicht’ building combines our 30 years of experience in sustainable construction with new architecture by Swiss designer Alfredo Häberli. The design of the house: Curved roof shapes are designed to sweep and arc, as inspired by shipbuilding as an ancient way to build with wood. These are organic shapes, echoing nature. Alfredo Häberli planned the building “from the inside out”. In the process, he turned the usual arrangement of “living downstairs, sleeping upstairs” on its head. In 'Haussicht', bedrooms for parents and children are on the ground floor while they cook, eat and live on the first floor. The ground floor is built with an architectural ‘spine’ that acts as wall, door and furniture combined. It divides the space in two, with public and private areas, using built-in storage that can be used on both sides. In the area nearest the entrance you will find the functional spaces; the hall, utility room, office and play area, all with lavish cabinet space; fold-down tables also included. Häberli calls this concept “activating elements of the building”. Two doors lead through the building’s backbone into clearly delineated bedrooms, one for parents and one for children. The wood and marble surfaces radiate the highest quality, while the dedicated built-in Relax area in the master bedroom brings added benefits; a bathtub, seating and stove opposite the double bed! On the first floor are clues to the building’s name. This home is called ‘Haussicht’ because it plays on the German words for house and view, Haus and Aussicht. A generous 90m² cooking and dining area is almost fully glazed on three sides, from which you can step out onto the extensive sweep of terrace which surrounds the interior. Next to the main house is a smaller ‘Stöckli’: This is a Swiss word for the house farmers move to when they retire and pass the farm on to their children. The timber build appears to float on its rounded concrete pedestal and is connected to the main house via an open-air bridge. This unit was created as an accessible home for multigenerational living, with an open lift and living spaces that flow seamlessly into one another. The Stöckli could be used as a comfortable multipurpose annex for older children, as an office and in many other ways. “Why would you plan this house with a designer and not as usual, with an architect?” Because we wanted to create a new approach to building architecture. This was a very interesting and challenging process, from which both sides benefited. The use of sustainable materials The wall construction is 37cm thick, highly sustainable and almost entirely made of wood as a renewable raw material. Where it was not possible to use timber, we used other environmentally friendly materials. All these materials can be subsumed into the ‘closed loop’ of nature. Due to this fact, for example, dismantling a building allows us to reuse entire components, or recycle the materials. Using wood as a raw material locks CO2 into the building for the long term. This build stores around 140 tonnes of CO2. The insulation is made from wood shavings, which are a waste product; once treated with whey and sodium carbonate, they are a totally sustainable insulating material. This can also form part of a closed product loop.

We have patented our insulation throughout Europe and have used it successfully in our buildings for decades. All materials we use undergo strict, detailed preliminary testing by building biologists, and material testing, where health safety is ultimately confirmed through room air analyses. The furniture, lamps, textiles and other home accessories which the Swiss designer brought into the building were also tested. We learned from this process: We originally planned to use standard commercial latex for the large 'Media-Koje' [media bunks] seating unit in the living room. This material failed our tests, so we used zero-emission natural latex instead. As in this case, the designer’s partners and suppliers conducted the relevant tests on materials they used and on their manufacturing process. Yet the choice of materials was not the only aspect we scrutinised: We also looked at the energy used to procure and realise the building. Therefore, for example, we optimised the prefabrication at our Erkheim production site using computer controls, and used electricity generated by our own photovoltaic plant and other environmentally friendly sources. Energy consumption while the building is occupied The key to this building’s heating and energy concept is its effectiveness! To make it effective, energy consumption was kept to a minimum, smart connections were made between various electronic bus systems in the home automation, active cooling systems were built in, and the heat pump’s performance was optimised. The entire concept centres on an ‘eTank’ – an underground seasonal storage system, not of electricity, but of warmth as a source for the heat pump. To make the heat pump as effective as possible, the heat source should deliver as high a temperature as possible (this is known as a ‘high source temperature’). That’s exactly what the eTank does, which feeds the heat pump. This seasonal underground storage system measures 12 by 30 metres and is 1.5 metres tall; it uses some 600 cubic metres of soil for storage. The soil absorbs heat from three energy sources in summer: A special photovoltaic system (PV) collector, the building’s cooling ceilings, and the earth itself. ‘Thermally activated PV modules’ (PVT) draw off the heat they generate into the underground storage system; as a subsidiary effect, the PV modules also generate more solar electricity as they are kept cooler. The building’s cooling ceilings are much more effective than underfloor cooling, and also draw off heat from the building in summer into the storage: They can bring the heat storage system temperature up to 25°. If the temperature of the storage system falls below 10°C in winter, heat from the Earth will flow in. Additional innovations and patents: Polyurethane foam-free installation of all windows and doors A protective cover built into all wall and ceiling elements protects against electrosmog (+ cables are shielded + steel demagnetised) Healthy, flicker-free LED lighting in use, as jointly developed by Baufritz Many design innovations (including the media bunks, banisters, door and window handles, lift, wooden wash basin, supports and façade) Silicate-free interior paint developed in-house External wood varnished a natural silver colour Sound insulation panels ‘HOIZ’ wood shaving insulation Certifications: Swiss Minergie-AEco label (assesses sustainable construction + energy efficiency) KfW-Effizienzhaus 55

VARIFIX®&Schnellmontagesystem PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: VARIFIX® is a quick-mounting system by Würth for building service installations (sanitary, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical and fire protection). It can be used for new construction and modernisation in the industrial, commercial and residential area. The system consists of 196 individual components which are suitable for different application areas: Rails, brackets, assembly parts, fittings and pipe clamps. DEVELOPMENT APPROACH: The useful life cycle of a real estate property is on average 20 years. For instance, every 15 - 25 years, an investment is made for the modernisation of the building technology. Up to now, building service installations have been demolished at the end of their useful life cycle and disposed of as building rubble. Valuable and in part, still functional materials and individual parts are recycled in a second rate manner or land irretrievably on the landfill. It is already clear today, however, that construction and raw materials are becoming increasingly scarce. Global issues such as population growth and urbanisation are contributing to this. In this context, it has been shown that a consistently sustainable further development of the VARIFIX® system has the greatest ecological leverage effect in the field of CO2 SAVINGS. What is required is a product innovation, which is designed and manufactured in such a way that the quality of the components is preserved. This is how buildings are transformed into raw material depots, which release their resources after the end of the useful life and become the basis for new construction products. PRODUCT VISION: VARIFIX® aids the building owner in converting his building with minimal effort, thereby securing building materials for the future, preserving material values and minimising environmental impacts. DESIGN CONCEPT: The VARIFIX® products follow purely construction-technical requirements in their form and design from the aspect of system flexibility. Because building service systems are out of sight 90% of the time, the outer aesthetics is more in the background. The components are primarily made of steel and offer a visually clean solution without sharp edges due to plastic covering caps. Noise insulation of rubber is available for each rail size. VARIFIX®’s key feature is its high variability of the individual components among each other, combined with fast assembly capability, lasting load capacity and the best possible safety during use (Tested fire resistance in accordance with DIN EN 1363-1). The added value of the system results from the complex circular design, based on the Cradle to Cradle® design concept which was developed in accordance with the concept of the German scientist Prof. Dr. Michael Braungart together with the US architect William McDonough. The focus is on material health, recyclability, renewable energies, CO2 management, water management and social justice aspects. The Cradle to Cradle® concept aims to create products in ever-recurring cycles. A differentiation is made between biological and technical cycles. Since VARIFIX® products are consumer goods; they are assigned to the technical cycle which enables material flow management. There the components, materials, raw materials and recyclables circulate endlessly. The VARIFIX® system is designed in such a way that, after use, it is dismantled and sorted in a manner where materials are separated and reprocessed for new use. All ingredients are chemically safe and can be circulated. The quality of the material is preserved; a loss of quality through downcycling is avoided. There is no longer any waste in the conventional sense - only reusable construction and raw materials. The core of the circuit is a take-back system which will apply to all VARIFIX® components in the future. Depending on the amount of material, take-back logistics is distinguished in two ways: For large-scale projects, special takeback containers are being developed for direct collection by the

Würth construction site logistics. Small quantities from artisan workplaces should be available on site in the Würth branches. Reusable VARIFIX® components go to reprocessing where special environment-friendly processes are developed. Defective and system-distant parts are sorted out and fed according to the type of material into external raw material circuits. Separate labelling and additional sales incentives for reprocessed VARIFIX® components are intended to motivate sales and demand. SUSTAINABLE BENEFITS: Material: • Tested for contaminants (human & ecotoxicological profile) • Traceability of ingredients in the supply chain • Receipt of material quality • Value preservation • Planned for material banking Recycling capacity/material cycle: • Residue-free removal • Take-back system • Sorting according to material • Up to 70% more raw material preservation • 30% return rate in external material cycles • Use of existing CO2 from external material cycles Energy & CO2: • Saving of new production & transportation • Use of renewable energies in production & logistics • Approx. 70% less energy consumption • Estimated approx. 24,400 t CO2 savings per year through take-back system Water management: • No additional water consumption • Cleaning procedures without water Social responsibility: • Social standards according to Global Compact: Human rights, ILO labour standards, environmental protection, corruption prevention • Social hotspot analyses for all countries of origin • Production with tightly defined social standards • Initiation of an innovative social project • Active role model for the construction industry IMPORTANCE IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY: A Cradle to Cradle® certification is currently the most difficult product and quality testing which undertakes a comprehensive analysis of material health apart from an environmental and social assessment. The exact definition of the materials in the entire supply chain is the basis for the certification. The certificate issued by the independent C2C Product Innovation Institute in Oakland, California. Currently over 460 Cradle to Cradle® certifications have been awarded for products including about 170 building materials. VARIFIX® is the world's first Cradle to Cradle® certified mounting rail system. In several European countries like Luxembourg or the Netherlands, an effort is made to construct all public buildings according to the Cradle to Cradle® standard. As a Cradle to Cradle® certified construction product, VARIFIX® architects and clients provide safety and motivation in the green building field - in particular in the construction of sustainable buildings to LEED®, BREEAM® and DGNB criteria. VARIFIX® therefore assumes an exemplary role in the construction sector, which is substantiated by the implementation in the new construction of the CARMEN WÜRTH FORUM as a training model with exhibitions and specialist workshops from 2017 onwards. Troldtekt Contrast Troldtekt wood line is an exclusive acoustic ceiling consisting of cradle to cradle certified Troldtekt acoustic panels (wood wool panels) with a unique and patented “click on” installation system for wooden strips. Troldtekt wood line combines refined aesthetics and excellent acoustics in a single product: The wood strips add an air of elegance to the ceiling thanks to their natural warmth and light, yet precise look. Installing the wood strips on the underside of the familiar Troldtekt texture still ensures superior acoustics, and the two materials harmonise to create a beautiful and simple contrast effect in the ceiling. The strips create a continuous and ‘seamless’ finish across the entire ceiling surface. This is made possible by the method of installation, which ensures a high degree of precision: The underlying Troldtekt acoustic panels are pre-prepared with milled grooves, which ensures that the accompanying mounting clips are always precisely and correctly spaced. The clips are fitted individually in the grooves, and the wood strips then simply click into place without the use of any tools. This is an extremely simple and time-saving way of ensuring the accurate and effortless fitting of the wood strips. With Troldtekt Wood Line, it is possible to ‘scale’ the look of the ceiling, as the spacing of the wood strips and thus the overall visual effect can be varied and tailored to the height of the ceiling or a desire for a specific architectural style. The wood strips can be installed with either five, eight or 11 strips for every 600 mm.

Furthermore, it is also possible to choose strips in different wood types, thereby adding an extra touch of exclusivity or catering for particular preferences. Troldtekt Wood Line panels are available in natural wood or in painted white, grey or black, and the options regarding the spacing and materiality of the strips as well as the colours of the Troldtekt panels ensure the architectural freedom to create the desired coherence and dynamics between the ceiling and other elements and surfaces in the room. The new Troldtekt wood lines acoustic panels are part of the Troldtekt acoustic panels series and thus have the same technical properties: reaction to fire B-s1,d0, provide good acoustics: absorption aw up to 1.0, are moisture resistant, durable, retain stable shape, are allergy-friendly and contain no allergens or harmful substances. The panels are CE-marked and are certified by the Danish Indoor Climate Labelling (best categories), M1 (low emission), Allergy UK (Allergy Friendly Product Award) as well as Der Blaue Engel (Emissionsarm). The Troldtekt acoustic panels are FSC® or PEFCM as well as Cradle to Cradle Silver certified and can be returned to nature as compost (biological cycle). Like the Troldtekt wood line panels the wood strips are fire proof, B-s1,d0, as well and the wood strips are currently being Cradle to Cradle certified.

Generate Ventilator Power-generate ventilator not only circulate the air to help improve the indoor air quality, but also provide electric lighting. It bases on the air convection principle, it rotates by outside parallel flows to convert the indoor air into vertical air which will be vented outside. It works like an exhaust fan installed at the roof. Besides, it can store the electricity generate by the rotation of the fan blades to provide lighting. There is an air circulation problem on the blockhouse of Africa. With the windy weather in Africa, it can take advantage of the natural wind to improve indoor air quality as well as the poor indoor lighting.

NORMA Group Nachhaltigkeitsbericht 2015 The NORMA Group has used the 2015 CR report entitled “Our Responsibility” to provide detailed information about the company’s corporate responsibility strategy. It presents activities and results within the five corporate responsibility areas known as “Responsible Management”, “Business Solutions”, “Employees”, “Environment” and “Society”. Key figures make the status of the company’s non-financial performance transparent. The requirements of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) were taken into consideration when selecting the key figures and areas of focus. Printed on natural paper, the CR report has an exceptional feel. In terms of looks, the cover page is based on the NORMA Group’s 2015 annual report. A double page at the beginning of each section presents fascinating figures and interesting information on the NORMA Group. The colour scheme of the globe on the cover page can also be found in the various sections, particularly in headings, graphics, pictograms and the icons specially developed for the CR report, which symbolize the areas of activity for the NORMA Group’s 2018 CR roadmap. The NORMA Group sees corporate responsibility as part of its core business, because the business activities directly contribute to a more sustainable society. There is a direct link between the company’s products (which are designed to improve efficiency, among other things) and the combating of the negative effects of global megatrends such as resource depletion and climate change.

The joining technology specialist wants to reconcile the impact of its business activities with the requirements of society. Corporate responsibility should be embraced by everyone within the group. Accordingly, the management has launched a long-term CR strategy for all locations and employees. It forms the basis of ensuring that NORMA also acts with transparency. This means that its position as global technological and market leader in highly advanced joining technology can simultaneously be secured in the long term. Back in 2013 the group established a CR roadmap that declares specific aims for each sphere of activity in order to strategically align and further develop the CR measures. Each of the specialist areas is responsible for turning these CR aims into measures and implementing them throughout the group. Furthermore, in 2015 the group invited people to engage in roundtable talks for the first time. Company representatives and external stakeholders discussed measures and aims in areas of activity related to corporate responsibility. The findings were incorporated in the 2018 CR roadmap. As a result, the NORMA Group has not only developed an operational framework for the coming years with concrete target values by which the company wishes to measure itself, but also taken the next logical step towards an integral and operationalized CR strategy.

TEKS PAKS 1 MYTH Grannie is 93 years old. When I unpacked a present from her last Christmas, she exclaimed indignantly, "You tear it like a toddler!" She opened her gifts quietly, gently loosened loops and knots, and removed the glued parts of the paper, as well as the sticky tape. Then the paper was smoothened and folded properly. "War time generation," I thought, and tore open my next package. In the end, all but Grannie, were sitting amidst a huge waste pile. It also should be meontioned that father, mother and children had rushed half an hour before to clumsily wrap their last presents. Painful paper cuts included. The next morning garbage cans in the neighbourhood were flowing over with mountains of paper in it, often plastic-coated. I thought about Grannie and the self-evidentness with which she had kept the gift paper. ... Would not it be great to have a reusable, easy-to-fold and easily-closeable gift wrapping ? One that is so beautiful and lasting that you would like to keep it and reuse it. So, on December 25th 2016, Uroma had planted the idea of developing TEKS PAKS. Thanks, Grannie! 2 PRODUCT TEKS PAKS Is the contemporary way to pack gifts. TEKS PAKS Works like gift paper with a ribbon, but it consists cotton fabric with integrated lacing mechanism. TEKS PAKS Can be washed and reused many times. 3 MISSION TEKS PAKS Makes disposable packaging for gifts redundant. TEKS PAKS Creates a global pool of reusable packaging that circulates with each gift. TEKS PAKS Combines quality, functionality, sustainability and aesthetics. 4 VALUES QUALITY -High quality cotton fabrics and ribbons - Regional production - 3 years warranty Only high quality fabrics are being used. The tape is attached securely to the neatly lined fabric with a double seam. The uncompromising quality of workmanship and materials ensures the reusability for years to come. FUNCTIONALITY - 5 sizes from XS to XL - Washable at 30 degrees - Handy, centrally fixed gift ribbon A new product must offer the consumer solutions for the problems of the old product in order to successfully replace it. Textiles are not only tear-resistant, but also easier to handle. The optimized cut and the refined band overcome the problems with the congestion in the crease area and with sticky tape and gift ribbon, that never are close when they are needed. SUSTAINABILITY - Avoid packaging waste - Use of Fair Trade and Eco textiles - Local and / or social production In an average household each year between 8 and 20 presents are packaged. Wrapping paper and ribbons often consist of highplastic composites. Just in Germany 41 million households are producing a lot of household waste that is difficult to separate. We can avoid this with TEKS PAKS. Recycling TEKS PAKS can be reused many times. Similar to the development of the jute

and cotton bags as a plastic bag replacement, a global pool with recyclable gift packs is to be created. Upcycling The PENTHOUSE collection also uses rich second-hand textiles. AESTHETICS - 3 Collections: STUDIO, LOFT and PENTHOUSE Classical designs and artist editions - Online Configurator for individual creations Aesthetics is one of the main drivers that will make the pool grow organically and that will ensure that consumers will continue to use the packaging. The company has a vast experience in content and design. In addition to appealing presets, customers can create their own design combinations via and online configurator. TEKS PAKS can also be embroidered individually. 5 MARKETING PRODUCT LINES Three product lines differing in features and price: Studio Solid cotton, 1- or 2 colors, simple basic patterns, cotton band 8mm Price: 10-40 € Loft Fine cotton, 3- to 4-color, more complex patterns and simple structures, cotton ribbon or cord 20mm 2mm Price: 20-120 € Penthouse Fine cotton or silk, 4-color + spot color, elaborate patterns and structures, artist and label editions, cotton ribbon or cord 50mm 5mm Price: 40-400 € PRICING POLICY The initially high price is corrected with increasing market penetration and higher production volumes. Due to the high starting price lower volumes are achieved, but at the same time relatively high gross margins per piece are being realized. DIRECT SALES Direct sales through the TEKS PAKS website Individually and in multipacks RETAIL TRADE Selected retailers Commercial containers with 100, 250, 500, and 1,000 units Optional POS stands POOL SPONSORSHIP In order to quickly create the critical mass of packaging materials in circulation, the purchase price has to be as low as possible despite relatively high material and production costs. Therefore, companies can financially support the pool and, in return, present their logo on the inside of the STUDIO and LOFT collections. The PENTHOUSE series is sold without advertising banners, but contributes a proportion of the proceeds to the pool to subsidize the two more favorable collections. The expected contribution amounts to 2 € per piece. PROMOTION Our team has excellent contacts and years of experience in online and print PR as well as event and social media promotion. Target segments: lifestyle, design, eco- and packaging industry media 6 VISION TEKS PAKS is not just about sales and profit optimization, but rather the establishment of a global solution that replaces an obsolete product. It is expected that in the medium term a social and political rethink will occur thus enabling a similar development as it already happened with shopping bags. THIS IS HOW WE LIVE TOMORROW!

Air Detector pure form merge with household environment Mini Light is the perfect bed-side companion to comfort little ones as they drift off to sleep. place him on a bureau or bed-side table where children can see his cute face and soft light in the dark. Simply press on its head to launch his colorcycling night lights. Press his head again to fix on your little on's favorite color. A third press and it's "light out". Mini Light is easy for children to use, cordless, cool to touch, and features multi-colo LEDs and auto-shut-off. I was attracted by the idea hanging on the wall so that it can save a lot of space and also be decoratively. The opening hole can lower the visual weight but also be the place where the air goes in. I am looking for the form that is simple to fit into most of the modern home interior, but also with enough details that people knows it is an high tech air purifier.

Fairphone Fairphone is a social enterprise that produces a smartphone to inspire change in the electronics industry. The product, the Fairphone 2, is deeply interwoven with the work that Fairphone does and the story it has to tell. In 2010 Fairphone was founded as a campaign to raise awareness about problems in the electronics supply chain - in 2013 the first Fairphone was crowdfunded and in 2015 we released the current model - the Fairphone 2. This is the first phone we designed ourselves. The Fairphone 2 is the first modular phone, which is designed to be opened and repaired and it functions as a storytelling device. The modular build and Fairphone's work on supply chains solve a crucial problem for consumers and for the environment. Electronics need a lot of resources to be produced and are difficult to recycle. These resources are often sourced and manufactured into electronic products under hash working conditions. With ever shorter life cycles of electronic products this accelerates the release of electronic waste on the one hand and on the other increases the demand for resource intensive manufacture of new electronic products. Further, many people are estranged from this process and the problems that globalised manufacturing can cause. From conflict minerals to working conditions in factories - global supply chains of electronics are complicated and filled with problems. It is hard for consumers to take responsibility for these issues if they are not adequately informed about the challenges. To break with this cycle Fairphone produces a smartphone that can be opened easily by every user and repaired easily - the screen of the Fairphone 2 can be removed without tools and all other modules such as battery, camera, speaker etc. can be exchanged with a screwdriver. This enables users to keep the phone for an extended lifespan of 3-5 years on average. Many consumers realise that there is an environmental as well as personal benefit to keeping their device for a longer time. It saves valuable resources, produces less waste and emissions but also saves money. Being able to repair your phone instead of buying a new one is a benefit. Due to the modular design of the Fairphone 2 users can keep their phone for longer and save 30% of Co2 emissions and valuable resources needed to produce smartphones. Fairphone further continues to raise awareness about problems in electronics supply chains. Fairphone was founded as an awareness raising campaign in 2010 and decided to produce a smartphone as they serve as great storytelling devices. We regularly

publish information on how we are improving our own supply chain, by improving the working conditions in the factories, by sourcing fairer materials and setting up recycling programs. This campaign element of Fairphone is important for it to become effective - In the end it, increasing the lifespan of a product depends on how users engage with it. Lastly, Fairphone constantly improves it's supply chain and integrates this research and the improvements into raising more awareness. Fairphone is now able to source all conflict minerals (tin, tungsten, tantalum, gold) from conflict free sources and is the first smartphone to integrate Fairtrade gold into it's supply chain. While Fairphone sources conflict free minerals we still source them from conflict regions, from certified mines, in order to support local economies. This also translates into a great value proposition. On the one hand keeping your phone for longer provides a benefit for the consumer. It is cost effective in the long run and many users get attached to their devices. Therefore many users do not want to buy a new phone every year and hold on to older devices. Having a device that is designed to last is so far unique and Fairphone sells the only and first modular phone worldwide. On the other hand people are attracted to the campaigning element of Fairphone. One of the central ways in which Fairphone is making a difference in the industry is by showing that there is a market for more sustainable products. Our community actively supports this and many people buy the Fairphone in order to make a difference and support the change that we are driving in the industry. Fairphone does not compete on the level of sustainability. Bringing sustainability and fairness into the electronics industry are things we don't compete on but want to spread. However Fairphone sells Fairphones as its main source of income - here Fairphone has a competitive advantage through it's unique story. Manufacturers have problems to distinguish themselves on the technological level. Fairphone's story is unique and resonates with a growing group of consumers that care about sustainability and are willing to invest in it.

Range Hood This range hood features several novel functions such as one-touch button for stir fry, thorough clean with steam and auto-detection of impeller surface dirtiness. While the air flow is designed to achieve 18m³/min for regular circumstances, that number can increase to 22m³/min with a one-touch button when stir fry mode is used, meeting the habits of consumers in all regions. The steam at 110 performs deep cleaning on impeller surfaces, thus eliminating the needs for users to clean difficult-to-reach internal and intricate areas. In particular, this range hood boasts a dirtiness autodetection function; the detection is accomplished through a sensor installed on the volute front side of impeller, and displays real-time dirtiness level on the user interface. When the dirtiness level is displayed at 5 notches, the user is alerted to perform a steam cleaning on impeller surfaces, although there are various steam cleaning procedures corresponding to all levels of dirtiness that can be selected at any time.

Tim Bell chili sauce In recent years, with the improvement of people's living standard, people's demand for safe and healthy food is increasing day by day. Tempeh as natural fermented soy products, rich in quality protein, content comparable to beef, and the absorption rate of up to 94%. Europe and the United States and other western countries known as the best substitute for meat, is called "the meat of japan". It is easy to digest, it is one of the best sources of protein for children, old people, animal protein allergy and infirm. Eat shellfish sauce can get equivalent to more meat than meat protein, but healthier, safer, is a very good food. This project solves the scale and industrial production constraints such as tempeh development bottleneck and add shellfish sauce, add chili sauce for shellfish into the family of ordinary people to create the conditions. Tim Pui sauce for the diabetic patient and the "three high" population provides an ideal therapeutic solution. Add sauce with healthy ingredients Bei Bei and Zhengui day pepper as raw materials, in line with Chinese population needs in recent years, China sauce gradually popular in Europe and the United States, tempeh, unique nutritional value of amazing, known as "meat substitutes", is a vegetarian favorite food. Solve the problem of insufficient protein intake of vegetarians. A few days ago, it originated in Java, Indonesia today. Javanese writing can be traced back to the beginning, to the stone remains, the early literature few days Pui information; the world's first mentioned tempeh in 1851, but estimated that in sixteenth Century there were days of shellfish. Dr. amijoyo Sastro pointed out that prior to this, Chinese has used wild fungus Bacillus subtilis producing fermented black bean may be early, the businessman to spawn in Indonesia, and change in species adapt to local tastes; root berries used in modern fermentation, in order to adapt to the local climate. The earliest studies and publications were from the Dutch; Indonesia was a colony of Holland, so it was not surprising that the first study was about the dutch. In 1895, H.C Prinnsen Geerligs Holland microbiologist chemist's early attempts to identify tempeh strains, in his classic paper "Chinese soybean food", he pointed out: in Java, another species used to produce more digestible food legume seeds. In 1923 the successful separation of vitamin B1, Jansen writing papers, called "animal anti beriberi vitamin demand and the existence of" in the food that day shellfish protein have good quality, can be used as a supplement of rice protein. Although he thought fermentation could reduce VB1, but further study on 1932 Holland.G.van microbiologist A Veen showed that, tempeh is an excellent source of VB2 and VB1, modified Jansen's research results. In 1933, the Van Veen team successfully isolated two substances, toxic and toxic, and in the morning of 1950, he proved that one of the two substances was also a potent antibiotic. The earliest reference to the English language is the 1931 day of the "East India plant", introduced the production process of shellfish; and

then in the "Malay Peninsula in the dictionary of economic crops" in 1935, there are six pages of the text of the day. In Europe, the earliest commercial production in 1946 between -1959; by the end of the year, in Europe, there are 18 factories in the day of the. The first day on Bei text appeared in 1946, from 60s onwards, Cornell University PhD in Steinkraus under the auspices of the United States Department of agriculture, and the Northern Research Center in C.W. Hesseltine, under the auspices of a large number of days of Beckham start. The United States is the earliest commercial production began in 1961, conducted by Indonesian immigrants; 1969 -1972, antioxidant Packet of the University of Kentucky Chen research group of tempeh were studied; research results of a lot of other microorganisms, biochemical, physical and nutrition emerge in an endless stream. In Tennessee, TheFarm, is a long haired Hippie "spirit of the farm". In 1972, Lyon, a member of the farm, and a doctor of Biochemistry, Alexander, began to build a shell for his companions. In 1975, the first white house in the United States was established. This is supposed to be the mainstream of society recognized shellfish food signs. Media storm contributed to the consumption of shellfish. 1977 "organic garden" magazine listed TheFarm as tempeh suppliers, then with the "Mother Earth News", "what", "time" magazine and other periodicals published vegetarian related articles, cooking methods to popularize. After the 80s and 90s, in the mainstream American cooking books, the shell is a popular ingredient, shellfish has become a healthy diet and food seekers and vegetarian food. From 1979 to 1984, the United States has increased from 13 to. In recent years, the research of tempeh flourish, showed the following characteristics: 1, tempeh materials from soybean to buckwheat and other plants; 2, tempeh production process from traditional process to the development of modern technology; 3, tempeh fermentation by natural weather season to all-weather; 4, tempeh the application to the development of industrial raw materials, fresh shellfish and shellfish diversified day day at room temperature. In Japan, the earliest days of the text in the 1928, from the beginning of the year of 1983, with the widespread popularity of soybean milk, Japanese companies began to produce a large number of shellfish. By 1984, Japan Marusan-Ai Tianbei tempeh factory week production reached nearly 7000 kilograms; Holland Tempeh Production Inc. reached 6000 kg; California Quong Hop/Pacific Tempeh reached more than 3 thousand kg. In recent years, the international interest in the shellfish to the day of the isoflavones, anti-cancer activity, antithrombotic function research. After fermentation, it forms the intermediate product of protein hydrolysis, polypeptide

Speick Organic 3.0 Körperpflege Our approach is holistic sustainability: A minimalist, environmentally-friendly concept, initially for a shower gel and body lotion, that features products and packaging that are up to 100% recyclable (organically and technically) – to protect our natural resources. Since May 2016, we have firmly established our Speick Organic 3.0 shower gel in our various distribution channels such as drugstores, organic supermarkets, specialist shops and over a wide swath of foreign countries with a market for our products. Following extremely high market acceptance from our retailers, we launched Speick Organic 3.0 body lotion in February 2017 based on the same principle. In October 2016, our new kind of packaging was already a runner up for the international Sustainable Packaging Award at the Sustainable Beauty Awards in Paris. In February 2017, our brand new body lotion won the Best New Product Award for Cosmetics in the coveted Body Care category at the BioFach/Vivaness, the world's leading trade fair for natural cosmetics, in Nuremberg. The fundamentally new packaging has a verifiable small ecological footprint. The bottle we use for both entirely renewable Speick Organic 3.0 products – including the cap and the label – is made entirely from green polyethylene (organic PE). The sugarcane, which provides the basis for the organic PE, comes from Brazil. It is grown and harvested under supervision there under ProForest's guidelines for sustainable resource and social management. The sugarcane is processed into ethanol and subsequently into organic PE on site in Brazil. The sugarcane press residue is used directly to produce green electricity, which in turn is used for the production of PE. According to manufacturer information, each tonne of organic PE that is manufactured absorbs 2.5 tonnes of CO2 using the natural resource sugarcane. Both products are characterised by the following criteria, which have a significant influence on consumer behaviour: 1. 100% palm oil free. 2. 100% of product and packaging made from renewable raw materials. 3. Minimalist, environmentally-friendly concept with the highest quality. 4. Recyclable structure. 5. To protect our natural resources. 6. A simple formula that is not overloaded. We focus on the essentials. The small amount of raw materials minimises the allergenic potential. 7. With vortex-energised water to invigorate the product. 8. With the harmonising extract of the certified organic, wild harvested Speick plant. 9. Especially gentle on the skin. 10. Gluten and lactose free. 11. Suitable for vegans. 12. Readily biodegradable. 13. Shower gel only: Approved natural cosmetics (COSMOS): 100% free from synthetic fragrances and colourings, silicones, parabens and mineral oils. 99% of the total ingredients are from natural origin. 14. Body lotion only: Approved natural cosmetics (COSMOS): 100% free from synthetic fragrances, colourings and preservatives, silicones, parabens and mineral oils. 15.

Dermatologically tested and allergy tested. The main goal of the distinctive design on the front was to call attention to the holistic sustainability of the products. In this case form follows function. As a result, the Speick brand substantiates and continues to expand the high level of trust in our products, which began in 1928 and has been growing ever since. The public perceives the Speick brand as a beacon for holistic sustainability thanks to the various accolades awarded every year since 2011, including the DNP (Most Sustainable Brand) in 2013 and the CSR Award of the German Federal Government in 2014. This was our motivation for developing future products, like Speick Organic 3.0. Both products are classic everyday consumer products or "everyday heroes" that better meet the existing needs by far thanks to their integral approach in terms of holistic sustainability. In addition to their uniform ergonomic packaging and the overall concept of sustainability, our mission was to develop exemplary products that the consumer could also use every day. Both the shower gel and the body lotion smell delightful and are easy to apply. In future, we plan on expanding the currently small range – a real challenge for Development and Product Management. We use social media, e.g. Facebook and Instagram, as well as our own corporate blog, blog.speick.de, to communicate actively with our consumers – also regarding issues of sustainability. In the process, we leave no question unanswered, and we do not censor. This applies to all other communication channels as well. We view the overall concept of cosmetics with a minimalist, natural, certified formula, which includes packaging made from renewable raw materials, and an effective body care product that also smells good as an investment in the future and, therefore, as a real innovation for holistic sustainability. For us, a key component of the overall concept is also that we produce at a single location (our company headquarters in Leinfelden-Echterdingen near Stuttgart), and operate completely autonomously in all areas – from an idea through to development and production to shipping throughout the world. In doing so, we comply with the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work – which, for us, is a matter of course. Within the Utopia Changemaker Manifesto (2013 and the 2014 progress report), we openly committed ourselves to the Global Compact criteria. Approx. 90% of our output is distributed within Germany. The items our wholesale customers don't collect via forwarding agencies are sent using DPD Total Zero. Finally, both Speick Organic 3.0 products have the best end-of-life stage by today's criteria with respect to recyclability, plans for secondary use and closed loop systems...

The GOTS standard attests that a textile product is made of natural fibers, originated from organic agriculture, and that all processes have been conducted according to strict production rules. Raw materials Organic Cotton - Choosing organic fabrics has a major positive impact on your health and the health of our planet.Cotton accounts for about a half of the world's fiber needs but it carries a considerable environmental cost because conventional cotton is grown using pesticides, insecticides, herbicides and Genetically Modified Organisms and requires requires intensive water irrigation. These toxins are harmful for farmers and workers, us as consumers, and entire wildlife eco-systems. Conventionally grown cotton uses more insecticides than any other crop in the world. It is estimated that each year cotton producers use as much as 25 percent of the world’s insecticides and more than 10% of the world’s pesticides; an incredible amount for just one crop. These chemicals can be deadly. Such pesticides poison farmers all over the world. Factory workers too have to breathe in their fumes during the manufacturing process. According to the World Health Organization up to 20,000 deaths each year are caused by pesticide poisoning in developing countries. These chemicals seep into run-off water after heavy rains, poisoning lakes, rivers and waterways. Pesticide residue has been increasingly discovered in foods, farm animals and even breast milk. Not only are these carcinogens responsible for thousands of cases cancer in adults, they are particularly harmful to young children who can develop debilitating neurodevelopmental effects. Organic cotton instead is grown in a way that uses methods and materials that lessen the impact on our environment. A big effort in the organic movement is to use growing systems that

replenish and maintain soil fertility and build biologically diverse agriculture. Organic cotton uses far less water too. Organic cotton is grown without the use of pesticides or other toxic chemicals and it is not exposed to chemicals after the growth process. These methods include crop rotation, cover crops, organic fertilizers, beneficial insects, and human labor for weed control. Finally, the quality of organically grown cotton is even better than conventionally grown cotton because it is less processed and not treated with harsh chemicals that can wear down fibers. Organic cotton is free of allergens and nasty chemicals contained in chemically grown and processed products. It does not cause any allergy or irritation when it comes into contact with sensitive skin (like baby skin). Organic linen - Flax is the strongest vegetable fiber known, next to hemp in strength and durability. Flax thrives in poor soil and requires little or no irrigation. It is very easy to grow, but harvesting and extracting the fiber and making yarn for weaving is still best done manually, unlike cotton where machines replaced most manual labor. The flax plants are pulled by hand, for the longest fibers running all along the stem from bottom to top. For organic linen retting, the next step and crucial for being able to separate the fiber from the stalk, has to be done by leaving the flax on the fields for rotting the stalk by repeated dew and sunshine; or by steam inside. Both is much slower than chemical processes for conventional linen. After that, it is all beating, breaking, combing - no chemicals involved at all. Flax is hypoallergenic and antiinflammatory. Organic linen is grown and processed without chemical herbicides and pesticides, protecting the farmers, the factory workers, the end consumer, and the eco-system from those neurotoxins and cancer-causing substances. Sisal - It is a stiff fibre which comes from a plant called Agave Sisalana. Sisal farming is more natural than most types of farming. Sisal is a labour intensive crop and it offers employment to rural communities in areas which are often not suitable for other crops. Almost no fertilisers are used in sisal production, they are resilient to disease and most of the weeding is done by hand. Sisal is a renewable resource par excellence and can form part of the overall solution to climate change. Measured over its life-cycle, sisal absorbs more carbon dioxide than it produces. During processing, it generates mainly organic wastes and leaf residues that can be used to generate bioenergy, produce animal feed, fertiliser and ecological housing materialand, at the end of its life cycle, sisal is 100 percent biodegradable. Moreover sisal plants reduce soil erosion through its extensive root system and contributes positively to watershed management. Insect Respect Gütezeichen The Biodiversity is threatened and the society asks for sustainable products and services. But when it comes to the use of biocides, an insuperable problem seems to rise: Who can you use biocide products in the house and at the same time advocate insects? The quality seal Insect Respect wants to close this gap. The story of Insect Respect begins with a special task. Dr. HansDietrich Reckhaus, CEO of the company Reckhaus, ordered an idea for the market entry of a new fly trap at the Studio For Special Tasks of Frank and Patrik Riklin. The lateral thinking concept artists from St. Gallen (Switzerland) recommended the contrary: They asked him, if he had ever thought about the value of insects. This turned the entrepreneur’s world view upside down and lead to an exceptional and striking art action: “Saving flies in Deppendorf” (www.fliegenretten.de). In the foreground of this stood the lovingly, by the means of art increased awareness for the insect world. In the background, the action caused a deep rethinking of Dr. Hans-Dietrich Reckhaus. In cooperation with biologists and for the first time worldwide, he calculated in detail who biocides influence the insect population. From this derived a scientific model that shows how to compensate this impact with compensation areas. Products with the Insect Respect Label are control neutral, because the insect loss is compensated with the creation of insect friendly biotope on flat roofs. Labeled products set insecticides and water endangering substances asides. The scientific model builds the basis for Insect Respect ®, the world’s first quality mark insect control products with ecological compensation areas. Retail markets and biocide producers can label their products with the quality seal and thus compensate the impact of their offer. Participating market players tell Insect Respect, which products and which amounts they want to bring to the market. Insect Respect calculates the needed compensation measures and realizes them. The compensation model of Insect Respect can be understood as revolutionary innovation in the sector. The model has been filed as a patent in Germany, most European countries, as well as USA and China. The concept of a counter movement is new: The compensation can not only be applied on a single fly trap, but on all (insecticide free) insect control products. Insect Respect is a sustainable business model, that earns money with environmental services. Insect Respect as worldwide unique quality mark stands for a holistic rethinking in the biocide sector, far in excess of the compensation idea: Consumers shall reduce their biocide use, apply more ecological products and – only if a control is necessary at all – compensate it. The Insect Respect Label is only awarded to insecticide free products, where the insect loss has been compensated by the creation of insect friendly, greened roof tops in urban areas. In 2012, Insect Respect created the world’s first insect compensation area in Bielefeld, Germany. In 2015, the first compensation area was created in Gais (Switzerland). The biotopes increase the local insect biodiversity, amongst others with different substrate types and layer thicknesses. In order to make people use less biocides (reduction objective), a change of awareness is needed in the society. Insect Respect actively contributes to this rethinking process. With numerous awareness raising measures like the art action “saving flies”, the animation video “Little

Giants” about the value of insects, with the book “Why every Fly counts” from Dr. Hans-Dietrich Reckhaus (initiator of Insect Respect), with presentations, keynotes, events, exhibitions with Augmented Reality elements, insect species identification as well as more than 100 fact sheets and information about environmentally friendly prevention actions. Numerous media reports about Insect Respect as well as the art work “Fly Erika” stimulate the public discussion about the value of insects. The first retail partners are convinced of the Insect Respect concept. In 2017, products with the quality seal can be purchased at a big German retail market chain. Insect Respect guarantees, that the compensation area for the product has been created already before the purchase. Consumers that use control neutral products with the Insect Respect quality seal support with their purchase the greening of more areas and thus the regional biodiversity and life quality. Every labeled package shows in a transparent way the compensation area for the product, with picture and address. More than 400 media reports, numerous awards as well as the positive feedback of a growing number of supporters (amongst others Dr. Hans Herren, Alternative Nobelprize) boost the initiative. The middleand longterm goal of Insect Respect is the transformation of the whole biocide sector. The social sustainability is guaranteed by the compensation areas. They are built only in urban areas where they contribute to the life quality. The formation of the areas is executed in cooperation with social institutions, whenever possible, e.g. with permanently unemployed persons. Summarized main objectives: 1) Awareness raising in the public for the social, ecological and economic value of insects 2) Reduction of biocide use 3) Responsibility of the biocide sector for ecological impacts Summarized measures: - insect saving art action with awareness raising in a village (www.fliegenretten.de) - awareness raising with the animation video “Little giants” - Education about insects with over 100 fact sheets - insect determination - unique scientific model for the compensation of biocides (patented) - creation of the quality seal “Insect Respect for control products with ecological compensation - guarantee for compensation in advance to the product purchase - guarantee for transparence of the compensation - creation of the first insect compensation areas of the world - scientific study “Insect hits by cars” - keynotes about the value of insects at conferences, in universities - book publication “Insect Respect” documentation - book publication “Why every fly counts” about the value and endangerment of insects - Insect Respect exhibition (to be visited in the natural history museum, Bielefeld, Germany [namu]) - “Day of insects” – conference for networking and cooperation building of the players for the topic (30.3.2017) - Cooperation with organizations such as the natural history museum Bielefeld - article series “Insect of the month” in the newspaper “Westfalenblatt” 2017 (with namu) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqrxwMAugTg

Magnus Mewe Barrique Limited Stuhl The designer Magnus Mewes creates furniture from barrique barrels. The shapely stools, chairs and tables have a history: for the famous barrique barrels, which are intended for the maturation of great wines, the oldest oaks, often 200 years old, are felled. They are then filled four times with red wine. 204 years later, Mewes' unique barrique furniture finally sees the light of day. On his wife Carolin Bergdolt's vineyard, Mewes helped to store disused barrique barrels. There came the idea for the first barrique chair: the barrel staves had the ideal ergonomic form for seating surfaces and chair arms. Meanwhile, there are over 20 sorts of furniture, from children's chairs and tables to chopping blocks. The classic barrique chair is the“Barrique Limited”, 100% made from used barriques (225 litre barrels). The chair is built like a barrel. The coincidentally ergonomic form is an optimal seating and back surface, giving the comfort of a molded wooden shell. The sides are made from recycled barrel bases – a natural red wine colouring can be seen here, from shades of brown to deep red. Mewes works with sustainable materials, manufactured with the highest craftsman's skills. Only selected barrique barrels are

used, which after several years of use no longer.

Enso The production of furniture creates a lot of waste wood, which is typically thrown away or burned for heating. To work against this behavior, I created Enso in 2016. As a joinery technique for wood, Enso allows you to join small pieces with a diameter of 30x30mm together, to create reusable wood. The joint is strong enough to be used in supporting elements in furniture. For example in my product family "04". With the help of Enso I´m able to build a bench out of two chairs, or a chair out of a bench for my product family. Enso can be used in every hardwood and can be scaled with a few clicks. The joinery technique is available as an open source file, that is free to use for everyone for non commercial purposes.

Drumback Design The project aimed at designing an office chair which sets standards in terms of ergonomics, sustainability and design, and yet offers very good value for money. Designer Martin Ballendat has created a variety of detail solutions which come together nicely. Drumback’s design is very unique, yet likeable, thanks to the choice of colours and materials. With the first user presentations, the chair turned out to be a real eye-catcher. The controls are designed in a very user-friendly way: They are integrated into the chair and marked with self-explanatory icons. The adjustable backrest height is operated via two clamps which all test persons could find and handle easily, without any need of a manual or explanation. Innovation Unlike other innovations that are in swing in the industry today, Drumback has nothing to do with the “Internet of Things”. On the contrary, Viasit deliberately foregoes all innovation that would require the installation of electrical consumers. The most important innovation with Drumback is its backrest. So far, there are two standards for task chair backrests: Either they are upholstered, consisting of the actual backrest, a foam carrier component and a pad of foam which is attached to it and a layer of fabric to cover it all up. With Mesh back chairs, which are the second type, the backrest consists of a solid and sturdy frame, over which a mesh fabric is stretched. With the Drumback, the backrest consists of a backplate like in an upholstered chair, but which is slighty concave. Over this, a mesh fabric is

stretched – very much like a drum, hence the name of the product. As every genius solution, this sounds very simple, but was quite a challenge in product design. The technology provides a number of advantages: Sustainability Thanks to the construction of the backrest, Viasit can save two components during the production process, namely the foam carrier component and the foam pad. These components don’t need to be transported, glued, or recycled. In a similar chair model, the foam pad weighs about 560 grams. If you consider that, in Germany alone, 720,000 upholstered task chairs are produced per year, this new technology represents a savings potential of approx.. 400 tons of foam per year, without sacrificing any seating comfort or ergonomic quality. The foam carrier component weighs about 490 grams in a similar upholstered chair model, which means a savings potential of another 350 tons of material, which doesn’t need to be produced, transported, or recycled. The Drumback has also advantages, if you compare it to a mesh back chair. For a mesh back to be sufficiently durable, the frame needs to be constructed with composite materials which are much harder to recycle than pure polypropylene. With the Drumback, it is no problem to use pure polypropylene, and therefore, the material can be genuinely recycled (“cradle to cradle”) to become backrests for future chairs.

mevo by fußstetter From a design point of view mevo is inspired by the workbench, taking this concept one step further by putting the kitchen island on castors, effectively creating a mobile and highly versatile piece of furniture. The initial impulse came from Holger Stromberg, best known as former Chef of the German national football team, which was followed by seven years of research and development by Marcus Fußstetter and his small team. Only in 2015, following countless drawings and prototypes, Marcus Fußstetter gave the thumbs up for mevo’s public launch which included a first brochure and website. Since the launch Marcus Fußstetter continued his search for new and sustainable materials, he reorganised mevo’s assembly by optimizing the regional network of suppliers and worked on comprehensive communications concepts. Even though it’s probably impossible to invent a kitchen that’s revolutionising the way we look at kitchens, with mevo our understanding of what a kitchen should be is evolving. Unlike traditional fitted kitchens mevo isn’t restricted by the existing kitchen walls. On the contrary, mevo’s dimensions have been optimized and standardized to make it fit through any door. It may be placed against a wall – but can also be used free-standing in the middle of the room and on top is extremely versatile by design. On the one hand, being equipped with castors, moving with mevo couldn’t be simpler (“roll it in, plug in the cable and you are all set“) avoiding the wasteful disposal of a still fully functioning kitchen untit that we have all witnessed. On the other hand, all mevo surfaces can be swopped out quite easily. You would like your kitchen in a new colour or would prefer a different material? With mevo that’s not only possible, that’s part of its philosophy. In this context Fußstetter offers an exchange programme, taking back old surface panels and either sending them back to the customer, having applied a new surface coating, or replacing them with panels made from a new, different material. The old panels will be sent to the workshop for treatment and will be offered to a new generation of mevo customers. The following use case is an example to illustrate: • During university, customer N moves into his first small flat. Having very little available space, he needs a fully functioning kitchen unit that doesn’t take up too much room. With 1.5 sqm in size mevo offers a sink, work surface as well as cooking zone. In addition, its three high storage drawers with optional internal drawers, offer sufficient storage space for all cooking equipment. N decided to have his mevo in black, dressed in SwissCDF. As mevo follows the Gastro Norm (GN) standard, all pans and pots designed to this standard will optimally use the available space. mevo is delivered safely inside a sturdy custommade box that can be reused many times. The courier will either deliver the box back to Fußstetter for re-use or it may remain at the customer, especially if the new mevo owner already knows that he’ll be moving again quite soon. • After finishing his studies N moves to a different city to start his first job. Having rolled mevo out of the moving van and into the new flat and having connected the cable, it can be used just as before. • Very soon N’s career’s taking off and he is moving into a larger apartment which comes with a pre-installed white fitted sink unit. Because of that N decides that it’s now time to use mevo as (mobile) kitchen island for cooking only. Because of the cooktop extractor van it is possible to use mevo wherever desired without being restricted by the location of an extractor hub. By removing the sink, N simply needs to replace the work top at the same time significantly increasing the available work zone. The old work top is being sent back to Fußstetter and, being cut to size with a new coating applied, may be reused. To make mevo fit to the existing kitchen unit visually as well, N decides to exchange the existing black exterior surfaces for white ones. Because SwissCDF may be visually changed by coating its surface, it is possible to upgrade the existing panels. Via the innovative click-suspension the exterior surfaces can be removed and attached again by N himself. Serving as a party kitchen mevo is also often rolled into N’s living room. Being an enthusiastic cook N often hosts friends and with mevo is able to stay with his guests while finishing the dishes – while his guests love the opportunity to pinch a taster right from the pan. • A few years later N enters the next major phase of his life moving into his own house together with his wife. Once again mevo will accompany its owner and will again get remodeled to perfectly fit is new environment. The family now ops for alder. As mevo’s dimensions are standardized the process is incredibly easy. Simply unclip the old panels and replace these with the new ones – done. Through its versatility mevo is able to adjust to its owners needs during each new phase of his life making mevo a true companion for life. Each mevo stays true to the following design rules: mobile, with visible castors as well as mitred edges making it possible to hang all hand-made accessories outside on the body to avoid a

cluttering of the work top. mevo aims to appeal to four senses: Visually wonderful with a great haptic and equipped with an extractor fan that is quiet and eliminates almost all cooking smells. Now you only have to perfect your cooking to create the perfect taste! mevo is assembled in Fußstetter’s workshop in Wasserburg am Inn. Choosing possible suppliers Fußstetter places significant emphasis on the supplier being in regional proximity to Wasserburg as well as the sustainability of their materials and management overall. Each mevo consists of the following key materials: • Stainless steel frame: Gronbach, based in Wasserburg/Inn as well, ISO5001 (energy management) and ISO9001 (quality management) certified • Corpus: Made of SwissCDF, a compact high density fibreboard made by Kronoswiss. SwissCDF is environmentally friendly as it • is made from Swiss wood that originates from sustainably managed forrests • uses 90 % renewable energies during its production • completely integrates into cascade use of the wood cycle and is biodegradable • saves CO2 and protects the environment Certificates: Garantiert Schweizer Holz, FSC® C014686, PEFC/15-31-0069 • External surfaces: Also made from SwissCDF and available in a large range of decors/colours. Depending on customer preferences mevo can also be covered with other materials including natural stone, Corian as well as quartz and ceramics. • Kitchen fronts: Made from three layered hardwood panels by ALFA, a company known to only use wood from sustainably managed forests. Certificates: http://www.alfa-massiv.com/en/about-us/certificates • Electronic appliances (extractor fan, cooking zone): BORA (35km distance from Wasserburg), having their products designed with sustainability in mind from the very start: https://www.bora.com/en/company/#responsibility (responsibility)

Modulare Sitzbank-Systeme NOVA C What is so different and unique to the "NOVA C" bench seats by GREEN Furniture? It is the unmistakable combination of functionality and attractive design. The SWEDISH company GREEN Furniture produces modular seating solutions (seats and benches) for public & private interiors, which are up to 40% spacesaving compared to classic seating solutions. The reason: convex & concave shapes plus the "seamless" seat functionality can make the available space more efficient. Natural, renewable products (oak, beech & birch) are used, which are brought into the specific seat shape using a Nordic craftsmanship technique. This creates comfort and a warm atmosphere. The products are very easy to maintain, strong and have a service life of more than 20 years. The entire GREEN Furniture Concept is sustained and leaves a lasting impression - permanently at a high level. This proves, among other things, the successful furnishing of the modern and historical central station in Stockholm, which is 24 hours nonstop in operation and still looks as newly furnished after 4 years. In addition to the high design value, the seamless system can also be used in a modular manner so that the entire seating area can be flexibly configured and redesigned at any time within 4 minutes - in the case of events, promotions or other needs. The under sustainable

conditions in Sweden produced benches are certified by the Nordic Ecolabel: The "GREEN" in GREEN Furniture stands - among others- for ecologically responsible production which also benefits the seat user: A) The products are made of Swedish wood and have only been treated with hard wax (which, by their special specification, also generates the B1 fire classification of the products). The benches are not painted, are not subject to chemical treatment and are "VOC free". B) In addition, for the quantity of wood consumed in the bench, the corresponding number of new trees will be planted in GREEN Furniture's own plantations in Sweden. This closes a natural raw material cycle, which does not leave a negative footprint and which we indeed call sustainable. One sits literally on the natural wood, which grows elsewhere for this seat. The GREEN Furniture Concept challenges the classic, traditional design - with its Scandinavian concept of modern, sustainable thinking with regard to design, functionality and longevity. zirb. - Bringt Natur in den Raum Most of us wish for more time in nature. Nevertheless on average we spent most of our time in closed rooms. Insufficient humility, eSmog, fine dust and air pollution load combined with unpleasant smells makes the decrease the well-being and the ability to withstand stress (Moser, M.; 2003). Nature is our primal habitat. We breathe easily when we are outdoors (Berghold, H.; 2012) and come to peace when we are surrounded by nature. This is why we are dedicated to bringing nature into the room. The stone pine ventilators creates the olfactric experience and air condition of a real stone pine forest. By combining nature and technology in functional designelements, rooms not only are equiped visually but by the scent adds a new sensual dimension. The stonepine ventilator is offered in three different sizes. The smallest one, called zirb.Puff is suitable for a nightstand or desk and costs € 299. The most convenient product for rooms up to 30 square metres, at home or in the office is called zirb.Air and can be purchased for € 399. The effective solution for rooms up to 100 square metres is called zirb.Mountain Air and sells for € 899. A refill for the zirb.Curls for each size costs in ascending order €23,99, 26,99€ and €29,99. To enhance the performance of the scent and make the refilling process (especially for B2B customers) more

convenient the zirb.Öl, a self evaporating pure stone pine oil, has recently been patented. This object of utility can be purchased for € 35,99. What makes zirb. so special? The whole wooden body is made without any chemicals, lacques or varnishes. It is practically still a tree! The ventilator is the world's most silent computer ventilator with only 6 dBA and thus silent to human beings. Furthermore, it comes with an 18-year guarantee when used 24/7 and runs on 12 Volts (less then a phone charger). The water bowl moistens the rising air and increases the effect of zirb. The zirb.Curls are the heart of our invention. Handcarved from the corewood of the stone pine, rich in essential oils and easily refillable, they expose more than 1.5m2 (approx. 16 square feet) of wooden surface. They can easily be refilled and reordered and will soon be available also in combination with other scents such as rose and spring flowers. The packaging as such does not exist. Your zirb. comes in a 0-waste concept where not even a molecule should end up in the trash.
