Saturday, March 5, 2016 Orange County Convention American Society for Surgery of the Hand & American Association for Hand Surgery Center, West Building Room W304A “Disasters of the Masters” 7:30 am – 5:15 pm Accreditation 8.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ Description Complications occur for all surgeons. At times these complications are daunting and require knowledge on how to handle these effectively. The complications may require specific salvage techniques, the understanding of when to intervene when complications occur, and the communication and ethics required to treat patients compassionately when complications occur. Are these complications or errors in execution? What is the difference? What are the pitfalls in what appears to be straightforward treatment resulting in disasters? The answers to these questions will be the subject of the symposium. Learning Objectives Review common upper extremity procedures with emphasis on common and unusual complications requiring intervention and management. L.
