STRATEGIC BUSINESS ADVENTURES Safari in South Africa > February 4–10, 2013 STRATEGIC BUSINESS ADVENTURES

An EXCLUSIVE invitation to awaken your soul invigorate your mind transform your perspective

STRATEGIC BUSINESS ADVENTURES Safari in South Africa > February 4–10, 2013 The business environment continues to be challenging… but much less so than what wild animals in South Africa face every day: On the savanna, every decision matters. Predators lurk in every tree, hole and grassy plain. Survival is not a vague concept, it is the focus of existence. The weak die. The strong live to see another day. The sun rises. And then, something changes. Power shifts in the hierarchy of the clan, pack or pride. To survive, each animal must understand and overcome the internal challenges, while still vigilantly guarding against all of the external threats. Sound familiar? Spending a few days on Safari is more than an adventure, it is an inspiring backdrop to intense and transformative business discussions: how, when and why each of our businesses must change to survive. How we each as individuals must hone and grow our own skills in a constantly changing environment. We invite you to join a hand-selected group of compelling personalities and visionary thinkers from the U.S. and abroad as we experience the transformative power of a Strategic Business Adventure on Safari in South Africa—February 4-10, 2013. Your Strategic Business Adventure Safari Experience will offer: > Candid dialogue > Incomparable beauty and luxury > Awe-inspiring animal interactions > Thought-provoking case studies > Intimate learning and discovery This personal invitation is nontransferable. There are only 11* seats at the table for this unparalleled experience. Reserve yours today. In the spirit of a business meeting like no other and a true life adventure, we welcome you…

They will be happy to arrange any additional personalized touring opportunities during your visit. Accommodation: Where you stay matters: the right place inspires creativity and innovation and we are proud to have hand-picked two ideal venues as the settings for our business adventure:

The Emperors’ Palace Hotel Mondior (Johannesburg)—2 nights: this 4-star hotel features 150 spacious rooms and suites furnished in contemporary African elegance and fitted with cutting-edge technology. Its’ convenient location next to O.R. Tambo International Airport makes it an easy and safe transfer, and positioned well as a departure point for our tour visits. A multitude of food and beverage options in the hotel and Emperor’s Palace casino complex will offer something for every palate.

Ulusaba—Safari Lodge—4 nights: Sir Richard Branson’s luxurious private safari lodge sits at the border of Kruger National Park, on the dry Mabrak riverbed, nestled amongst ancient Jackalberry trees in the heart of the African Bushveld. At this property, we will LIVE the spirit of adventure for 4 days, as the property is built tree house style, and the resident troop of baboons on the property creates a fantastic up-close wildlife experience. A five star gourmet kitchen, wine cellar, relaxing bar area, and attentive staff mean no need will go unattended during your stay. The property features a fully equipped gym and AromaBoma Spa, as well as a freshwater outdoor heated pool area and wifi access throughout the property. All luxurious rooms include air conditioning, ceiling fans and mosquito nets and are supplied with bottled water, spray-on insect repellent, Africology toiletries, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers. All rooms include tea and coffee-making facilities, snacks and a complimentary mini bar. All have en-suite bathrooms with separate bath and shower. Each has a terrace or balcony, some of which are private. All rooms have some wildlife viewing opportunity.

NOTE: the 11 rooms at Safari Lodge have some diversity: the base program fee includes the standard 320 square foot luxury room with ensuite bath. Attendees will have the option of purchasing a room upgrade to a larger suite ($400) or a private plunge pool ($800) based on the order in which your reservation is received. (If no one chooses to upgrade, rooms will be assigned by lottery.)

Education: Our time together will be spent in two ways: Exploration (site tours of industry businesses in Johannesburg) and Reflective Interaction. In Johannesburg and Pretoria, you will have the opportunity to tour four exceptional garden retailers who are each making progress and profits through personality in a challenged market. Each takes a different approach and there are varied learning opportunities that will be highlighted throughout the day and management/owners at each site will be on hand to answer your questions. Our host, Wayne Stewart, is the current President of the South African Nursery Association, and he will provide context and commentary throughout our day. As we move to the ‘Reflection’ portion of our program, we selected Ulusaba in part based on the inspiring and quirky owner of the private game reserve, Sir Richard Branson. His business practices and the philosophy from his latest book, Screw Business As Usual, will form the foundation of some of our group’s discussions. We will have the benefit of insight from the property’s management on the subject of hiring the right people, as well as an optional day of visits to the village to see the ‘Pride & Purpose’ philanthropic project in action. Ulusaba was the site that the Global Elders’ group (convened by Nelson Mandela) chose for their inaugural summit meeting. It is a place that inspires thinking, reflection, and change. Your stay at Ulusaba’s Safari Lodge will be a magical, all-encompassing experience: our group’s full private rental of the facility will give us the luxury of scheduling our group thinking meetings in the most inspiring settings possible. You will leave not only mentally invigorated but also inspired and a bit transformed after your experience at Ulusaba.

Travel Details: Transportation: Transoceanic travel to and from Johannesburg is not included in the pricing. All transportation once you land in Johannesburg (transfer to hotel, tour coach, flights to & from Safari Lodge) are included in your fee. The group will travel together on charter flights to/from Johannesburg and the Ulusaba Airstrip. Documentation: Admission into South Africa requires that you have a passport with two blank facing pages and valid for six months after your visit. A special visa is not required if you are a US passport holder. Immunization: A travel physical is recommended for all travelers (easily obtained from your doctor or a walk-in (Target, etc.) clinic. However, here are some guidelines: If you are traveling directly into and out of South Africa (not stopping in other African countries along the way), you are not required to have any specialized immunizations, though with any travel, you will want to make sure your routine MMR/DPT/Polio vaccines are up to date. Any additional vaccinations for the more rare Typhoid, Rabies, or Hepatitis are optional and a personal choice. You will find CDC issues travel advisories for each country. The link to the South Africa page is here: http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/south-africa.htm. For any international travel, we also recommend traveling with Immodium or (other OTC anti-diarrhea medicine) as well as obtaining a preventative prescription for Cipro or other antibiotic to have with you “just in case.” While we have not experienced any trouble, the Kruger Park area (where Ulusaba is located) is technically malaria exposed, and we personally recommend taking a prophylactic anti-malarial. Both facilities that we will be staying at also have access to medical doctors should the need arise.

OTHER QUESTIONS? It is our goal to make sure your travel experience is inspiring, educational, and hassle-free. No question is too small!
