An Instantaneous Ambiguity Resolution Technique for Medium-Range GPS Kinematic Positioning Shaowei Han and Chris Rizos The University of New South Wales
BIOGRAPHY Shaowei Han is a Lecturer in the School of Geomatic Engineering, The University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia. He received a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Geodesy in 1986 and 1989, respectively, from the Wuhan Technical University of Surveying and Mapping (WTUSM), China and Ph.D. in 1997 from UNSW. He started his research on GPS in 1986 and has been involved in projects concerned with GPS static and kinematic positioning, orbit determination and deformation analysis, vehicle tracking, etc. He is an academic member of the Satellite Navigation and Positioning Group within the Geodesy Research Laboratory, with a focus on ambiguity resolution and error mitigation methods for real-time carrier phasebased GPS kinematic positioning, GPS attitude determination and the integration of GPS and INS. Chris Rizos is an Associate Professor in the School of Geomatic Engineering, The University of New South Wales (UNSW). Chris is a graduate of UNSW, obtaining a B.Surv. in 1975 and a Ph.D. in 1980. He joined the academic staff of the School in 1987. He is presently leader of the Satellite Navigation and Positioning Group within the Geodesy Laboratory, which has as its focus the development of algorithms for data processing which are appropriate for a variety of static and kinematic applications of GPS. In particular the research activities relate to on-the-fly ambiguity resolution and kinematic positioning, realtime systems and quality control, and innovative GPS applications such as continuous array monitoring systems.
