Article Databases The NHTI Library subscribes to comprehensive article databases: EBSCOHost, JSTOR and ProQuest. All are accessible via the library homepage through the Databases link. If you are looking for a particular title, check the publications list in each database. All databases may be searched by topic keywords. EBSCOHost provides online access to articles, e-books, and reference books. Create your personal MyEBSCOhost account to save and organize your research with folders, save preferences, and to save and retrieve search history. JSTOR contains more than a thousand academic journals and over 1 million images, letters, and other primary sources. Its main focus is arts and humanities. Register for a MyJSTOR account in order to save, email, and export citations. ProQuest gives access to journal, magazine, newspaper articles, and e-books. Its primary subject focus is news, science, and business. The “My Research” feature lets you save documents you find useful and view details from your searches during your ProQuest session. You can then print a bibliography and email or export several documents at once. 3

Specialized Databases Applied Science and Technology Source is the premier full-text resource for coverage of the research and development spectrum of the applied sciences and computing disciplines, including engineering, acoustics and aeronautics. ARTstor Digital Library is a nonprofit resource that provides more than one million digital images in the arts, architecture, humanities, and sciences with an accessible suite of software tools for teaching and research. Accounts must be created on campus. GreenFILE offers well-researched information covering all aspects of human impact to the environment. Its collection of scholarly, government and general-interest titles includes content on global warming, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, and recycling.

Great Buildings Collection www.greatbuildings.com Contains images and computer models of over 1,000 buildings from around the world. Also provides access to 3D models, bibliographies, and information about architects. International Code Council www.iccsafe.org Organization dedicated to developing a single set of construction codes. Includes information on codes, standards, and certification. U.S. Green Building Council New Hampshire Chapter www.usgbcnh.org Contains information about green building in New Hampshire including news, resources, and upcoming events. Provides photographs of recent LEED projects in the state.

Online Career Resources Learning Express access is through the NHTI Library Databases page. It offers online tutorials in all NHTI skill-areas and includes assessment, skill-building, and test preparation materials. Learning Express provides professional hand scoring of writing and provides targeted direction for further study. It also has study guides for GED, AP, SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, MCAT, TOEFL, ASVAB, civil service, and a full range of professional licensing exams. It is available 24/7 from anywhere, but the free registration required for access must be setup on the NHTI campus.
