Finding Substance Abuse Resources for Your Community:

Introduction ADAI has a strong focus on dissemination and outreach and, to that end, has developed a number of online resources and databases.
I Am Looking For. . .
Apply for NN/LM Awards! Did you know each of the 8 regions of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NN/LM) offers small grants in several categories?
Despite the high value of these assets to those who use them, many people in our state don’t know they are available or, if they do, are unsure how best to utilize them to find the information they need. To help address these needs, we applied for and received a National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NN/LM) Health Information Services Award to develop an online toolkit of resources intended to improve our outreach to and education of various populations in our state.

Take our (short!) Articulate Storyline training!
Used to make our online training module for this project (as well as several other e-learning projects at ADAI), Storyline, E-Learning! magazine’s 2012’s “Best E-Learning Development Tool” and “Best Mobile Authoring Solution,” is a great program that lets you make your trainings as simple as a basic PowerPoint or as complex as a module that plays and moves almost like a film. Some of the features include: • Supports audio narration or videos; can record right in the program or import from outside sources • Custom animation and motion paths to make things move around the screen however you want them • The ability to use layers and triggers to coordinate complex movements or transitions on the screen • It’s Mobile- and tablet-friendly – and you don’t have to do anything to make that happen! • A customizable “player” where you can add links to resources, a table of contents, a glossary, and give the user full control over the learning pace (via next and previous buttons and playback controls). • Easy to make 508-compliant (for disabled persons) • Storyline is FUN to play around with, easy to learn!
