Asia Society Career Opportunity Location: Manhattan and Brooklyn Position: Video Producer, Communications (Grade 6) Code 1614 Asia Society is looking for a talented video professional to manage all video production related to the organization’s New York programming and global initiatives. Reporting directly to the Chief Content Officer, and working closely with the Director of Communications and Senior Content Manger, the Video Producer’s main responsibilities include editing video footage from Asia Society’s New York events, and producing promotional, editorial and creative videos related to Asia Society programming and initiatives, which cover a wide variety of subject matter: art, performing arts, policy, education, current affairs, and more. The Video Producer is also responsible for overseeing the archiving and branding of all Asia Society video, and working with other Asia Society locations and various freelancers to ensure consistency in quality and style. The ideal candidate would have experience working in a fast-‐paced corporate or online newsroom environment and the ability to simultaneously juggle many different tasks and projects. We are looking for a creative thinker, with an eye for detail, who is excited about working closely with a diverse group of passionate colleagues. Candidates must be enthusiastic about Asia and what Asia Society does, and arrive with creative ideas about how to best represent the institution and reach new audiences through video. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree and related experience. • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Premiere, Photoshop and Illustrator. Proficiency in Final Cut Pro 7 and Final Cut Pro X a plus. • Experience producing promotional, event, documentary and narrative style videos. • Excellent editorial judgment and the ability to pitch creative ideas daily. • Confidence in making quick editorial decisions and the ability to thrive in a fast-‐paced environment. • Ability to manage multiple projects at once, and hit deadlines. • A track record of distributing video to a wide web audience. • A proven self-‐motivated, self-‐sufficient, self-‐starter.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with a wide variety of people. Highly organized and detail-‐oriented. Familiarity with analytics and other performance metrics. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Drive. Familiarity with content management systems (Drupal, WordPress, etc.). Strong writing and editing skills a plus, especially writing for the web. Proficiency in an Asian language a plus.
