included (924 men and 360 women). Median age was 68 years; NYHA functional class II/III: 61.8% and 31.2%, respectively. LVEF was 31%. HF etiology was mainly ischemic heart disease (52.7%), followed by dilated cardiomyopathy (12.2%), valvular disease (9.6%), and hypertensive cardiomyopathy (9.2%). 859 patients (66.9%) were on betablocker treatment and 21 (1.6%) on ivabradine. 579 patients died during a median follow-up of 3.36 years [P25-75 1.57-6.40].
