Job Description Non-tenure track, 12-month faculty position (renewable annually) at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Clinical Sciences. Qualifications • DVM or equivalent veterinary professional degree. • Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC) is required. • An advanced graduate degree or equivalent research experience is desirable. • Experience instructing veterinary students, interns, and residents in Critical Care and Emergency Medicine is desirable. • Experience in design or management of an intermittent hemodialysis and/or continuous renal replacement therapy program is desirable. Specific Responsibilities Teaching • Clinical: Provide active instruction to Professional Veterinary Medical Students (PVM), interns and residents in the Critical Care Unit and Emergency/Urgent Care Services. These units provide the Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital with a 24-hour a day, 7-day a week, 365 day per year emergency room and intensive care unit. This position will also require supervision of an intermediate care ward. • Didactic: Provide lecture and laboratory instruction in small animal critical care/emergency medicine to veterinary students, residents and graduate students. • Graduate Training: Participate in the advising, mentoring, and instruction of graduate students, residents and interns within a program involving the area of the successful candidate’s research interests and expertise. Research • Develop an independent and/or collaborative research program in the discipline of Critical Care/Emergency Medicine • Develop and obtain internal and external funding to support an active research program Service and Outreach • Clinical Service: Provide 50% overall effort per year of direct clinical activity in the Critical Care Unit and Emergency/Urgent Care Services • Outreach: Develop and participate in professional continuing education for veterinarians. • Administrative: Participate in Departmental, College, and University administrative committees as well as active participation in the organization and implementation of the goals for the section.

Salary will be commensurate with the qualifications of the applicant.
