Editorial

At the end of the first year The Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology is on the eve of its 1st year. This is, at the same time, a startup for our journal and its coming issues and years, which will support journals that are rare in number in the field of oral and maxillofacial radiology. Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology is an online-only international open access peer-reviewed journal of Sifa University, Faculty of Dentistry, which publishes research papers in the field of oral and maxillofacial radiology. Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology publishes editorials, original articles, reviews, brief reports and letters. Online submission and online publication expedite the process from submission to acceptance and publishing. Furthermore this enables to get information about the journal and submission for the authors. In addition, thanks to its being online, Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiolog is recognized by colleagues more quickly. Three issues were prepared last year except the present one. There are 27 articles consisting of three editorials, six original articles, four review articles and 14 case reports were published in 78 days on average from submission. Among these published articles, panoramic radiography (OPG) was issued by 30% of the articles, where cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) was at 25%, and CT at 20%. Other techniques studied were periapical radiography, occlusal radiography, cephalometry, lateral oblique radiography, magnetic resonans imaging (MRI), ultrasonography (USG) and positron emission tomograph (PET CT). I certainly believe that we’ve had a great progress in this year. However, since there is a lot to do for Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, we’re planning to double our progress and efforts very soon. We’re very grateful to all the colleagues that have contributed to our journal. Keep following Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. Osman Sami Aglarci
