ATDC-SMART TOT Academy is organizing a 5 days training programme on Industrial Engineering in collaboration with Sri Lanka Institute of Textile and Apparel (SLITA). Date: 23rd April to 27th April 2012. ATDC is planning to have limited seats open for the INDUSTRY PARTICIPANTS at a nominal fee of Rs 30,000/- per participant. A special discount of 50% is being offered to the exporters registered with AEPC. This would cover the registration fee, training material requirements, refreshments and lunch. Certificates would be awarded by SLITA.

Sri Lanka Institute of Textile & Apparel (SLITA) was established on July 01, 2009 under the provisioning Act No.12 of 2009 by merging Clothing Industry Training Institute and Textile Training & Services Centre which had jointly served the Apparel Industry for near 25 years.



SLITA provides consultancy ,training and also technical services to the Textile & Apparel Industry .It also conducts Post Graduate and Degree programmes and provides Diploma level education,.

SLITA is an internationally renowned Training and Technical Service Provider for the Textile & Apparel Industry SLITA is providing fast track and cutting edge programmes to professionals for managing the Apparel Industry in a competitive era. The institute has entered into Memorandum of Understanding with leading Industries (MOU) such as North Carolina State University, Bunka Fashion College, Japan.

Lot of experiences in implementation of IE and productivity improvement techniques to the apparel industry.

ATDC-SMART-TOT ACADEMY Gurgaon | Thiruvananthapuram | Chhindwara The Textile & Clothing Sector being the largest employment provider after Agriculture, currently employs over 45 million people with an increase of over 12 million people over the figure of 2006. The readymade garment sector has accorded the steepest increase of adding about 6 million people in the said period and currently employs over 12 million people directly. The mainstream textile & clothing sector thus has the unparalleled potential to add to employment about 17 - 20 million people incrementally by 2022. Out of the requirement of about 10 million will be for the apparel sector alone and more than 15,000 – 20,000 trainers would be required for training the candidates. Therefore, under the Integrated Skill Development Scheme (ISDS) of the MoT, GoI, ATDC is establishing 3 Training of Trainers (TOT) Academies, the first one of which has been established in Gurgaon in the National Capital Region, the second in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala and the third one is being initiated in Chhindwara. The Training of Trainers’ Academy is an ATDC initiative undertaken to upgrade the knowledge base and skill levels of instructors and trainers and to develop an industry oriented approach in their pedagogy, teaching and instructional methodologies. The key objective of the ATDCSMART TOT Academy is to bring about overall systematic change in the apparel industry while providing better quality trainers for industry. The Academy is developing Trainer’s manuals, Conducting PAN-India Training of Trainers programmes, initiating International Knowledge Exchange programmes and holding workshops with renowned Experts from India and overseas, to benefit the ATDC’s trainers’ & instructors’ and the industry personnel.

This reflects ATDC’s objective to provide skilled manpower to industry in order to improve technical edge in manufacturing and upgrade the skills of human resource employed in the Apparel industry.
