Meet a Knight: Nick aka Gingersnaps or err Tiaramisu Hey Ginger, you are actually known by both Gingersnaps and Tiaramisu - which do you prefer? My split personality? Wait, what? I don't really have a preference, if I cant get one I use the other to register for character creation or accounts, most people call me Ginger since that's the Mumble name I have So tell us about yourself, both in and out of the gaming world? My name is Nick, I'm 23, and live in BC Canada. I work and live at an equestrian barn in the city. In a few weeks I’ll be going down to San Diego for comic-con. In games I generally play DPS or tanking classes and tend to be an altoholic and crafting addict. When did you start playing MMOs? I started playing MMOs around 1998 when EQ was new. I started played when I was in school so it was a good way to blow off steam from school work.
Your still here, so Slammer didn’t manage to scare you away! What was your first impression of the group? A friendly group of people who don't mind poking fun at each other here and there. Do you have any favorite AKS stories? I don’t know if I have a favorite on in particular but I always enjoyed the large WvW raids (in GW2) or playing LoL with a bunch of people. If your life was a video game, which game would it be? The game my life would have to be most like is Don’t Starve. I don’t even know what to say to that! Now I’m curious. How do you spend your time outside of the gaming world? What is this outside you speak of? Mostly I catch up Anime and TV shows that I missed when I game. Any favorite Anime? Ouran High School Host Club
What other MMOs have you played? EQ, WoW, GW, Warhammer, EQ2, Rift, GW2, Planetside, and FFXIV.
What’s one thing that people might not know about you? I love Studio Ghibli and the classical music from Joe Hisaishi (he composes movie soundtracks).
Of those games which was your favorite? This is a biased answer but Everquest 1. When did you join AKS? I joined AKS during the last leg of SWTOR before a lot of people stopped playing and the GW2 fad came around.
FFXIV, Wildstar, or EQ Next: Which game are you most excited for? I haven't looked at EQ Next at all but I feel like it couldn't live up to my "back in my day" expectations. I am excited for FF, I feel like I could spend a lot of time there and enjoying the community from that game. I think I’m most excited for Wildstar. I haven't been following it too much but like RJO said the other day "it’s like WoW but made with soul".
And how did you learn about the guild? I was introduced to the guild by a friend. What made you decide to join our crazy gang? I'm always looking for people to play and chat with who will keep me entertained.

WTFs A Wildstar? WoW in space. It’s a label that’s been applied to many games but not until Wildstar has a game been pretty open about embracing it. The folks at Carbine studios who are developing Wildstar make no secret that they are developing a themepark MMO in the vein of World of Warcraft. Their goal how is to take the formulae and nail it throwing in innovations here and there. Another way they appear to be ready to differentiate themselves from the pack is having a really robust and laugh out loud funny aesthetic in their lore and world design. We’ve all seen, played and burnt out (at record speeds) in previous WoW clones but Wildstar seems to have that little bit of shine and polish that might be setting it up to succeed where so many have failed before.
With World of Warcraft slowing down and not many good themepark options they might be releasing in to a perfect storm of time and place. A release date hasn’t been

announced yet for the game but the developers are aiming for a release in 2013 which means likely late fall/early winter we will be getting our hands on the game. Through beta in to release will be participating in the game with a fully active chapter.
