Core Program: Jan 2-Feb 17 Earn 8-12 IAH, ISS AND SSC Credits in this MSU six week program in Australia and New Zealand. Stay longer if desired—touring Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands. Optional directed study or independent travel after Feb 17 All University Majors. This MSU Program provides a comprehensive view of contemporary Australia and New Zealand including their people, political and justice systems and a wide range of public policies. The program focuses on comparing the public policies of Australia/New Zealand and examining the history and cultural differences between the countries and the United States. Get to know senior MSU faculty who can write you letters of recommendation. You can earn 8-12 MSU credits in ISS, IAH, SSC, PLS and CJ - a great value at a relatively low cost. Perfect timing (January &February—avoid Michigan winter; it is summer down there!)  Includes over 20 field trips to natural areas, marine parks, parliaments, supreme courts, prisons, police academies, museums and the outback as well as lectures by MSU faculty and Australian experts. Compare Australia and New Zealand.  Numerous guest speakers, who are experts in their field include for example, The Australian Secretary of Defense and State and the Chief Justice of the Australian “Supreme Court.”  Located in Sydney, Canberra (nation’s capital) and Jervis Bay, one of the most pristine ecological parks in the world that is nested within the Booderee rainforest on the South Pacific. And in Wellington, New Zealand--a great jumping off point after the program for the world famous New Zealand south island.  University partners: the University of New South Wales and Australian National University. In all locations we have access to libraries, the internet, sports facilities.  Open to majors in all disciplines for students with at least a 2.5 GPA.

 Choose from ISS 315, IAH 231, SSC 496 and PLS/CJ courses if needed.
