Autodesk Revit Architecture 2014 Fundamentals for Contractors COURSE SYLLABUS DESCRIPTION: To take full advantage of Building Information Modeling (BIM), the Autodesk Revit Architecture 2014 Fundamentals for Contractors training guide has been designed to teach the concepts and principles of creating 3D parametric models. From design development, and into construction documents, Revit Architecture streamlines the design process with a central 3D model. Changes made in one view update across all views and on the printable sheets. This course is designed to teach you the Autodesk Revit functionality as you would work within this design process. OBJECTIVES: The objective of the course is to familiarize and enable students to create full 3D architectural project models and working drawings. Specifically, this course will familiarize students with the necessary basic tools that the majority of students need to work with in the Autodesk Revit Architecture software to create, document, and print the parametric model. The student s will learn the software’s user interface and the basic architectural components that make the Autodesk Revit Architecture software a powerful and flexible modeling tool for contractors. PREREQUISITES: It is highly recommended to take Autodesk Revit 2014 System Fundamentals AND Autodesk Revit 2014 Project Fundamentals courses prior to taking this course. COURSE LENGTH:

6 hours

COURSE TOPICS: The course will cover the following topics: • Navigate the Autodesk Revit Architecture workspace and interface • Basic drawing and editing tools • Creating levels and grids as datum elements for the model • Creating a 3D building model with walls, windows, and doors • Adding floors and roofs to the building model • Creating stairs and railings • Creating ceilings • Adding component features, such as lighting fixtures and casework • Setting up sheets for plotting with text, dimensions, and schedules • Creating details REQUIRED SOFTWARE: • Autodesk Revit Architecture 2014 or Autodesk Revit from the Autodesk Building Design Suite 2014
