Details make the difference Sometimes it only takes small details to make a good product even better. And these matter. This proved to be the case with a project involving MANN+HUMMEL Brazil in cooperation with MANN+HUMMEL France. The challenge was to improve the cylinder head cover and intake manifold for the Renault Clio do Brasil. Through detailed technical solutions and the systematic integration of functions, the design engineers were able to further improve the existing product design and simultaneously reduce costs.
MANN+HUMMEL was also able to refine the solution for the integration of bushings in the cylinder head cover and intake manifold. Previously the bushings were pressed in afterwards in a separate process. The integration of the bushings in the molding process now removes the need for the separate process. This has led to a reduction in costs. The MANN+HUMMEL engineering team has also successfully improved the cylinder head cover. The team integrated the formerly complex oil filler neck and the blow-by
