1. Presentation AVANGRID wishes to reinforce its contribution to improving the quality of life of the people in the regions and countries in which it operates. With this aim it seeks to efficiently respond to fundamental social demands, making use of its business strengths and capabilities. In addition, AVANGRID assumes that without the backing of a qualified, motivated and diversified team it would not be possible to achieve its strategic goals. For the Group's business to succeed it is essential to recruit, select and retain the best talent in accordance with current legislation and best professional practices. Therefore, the basic principles of the Group's selection and recruitment policy include increasing the access of recent college graduates to employment through scholarship programmes and other agreements and offering candidates competitive remuneration to promote the selection and recruitment of the best professionals. To this end, AVANGRID presents its Scholarships for Master's Studies in the US, in order to contribute to excellence in the education of recent undergraduate degree recipients, by providing them with a higher qualification that will give them access to employment.

2. Scholarships AVANGRID will provide scholarships for the 2018-2019 academic year for postgraduate studies in US universities in the following subjects:        

Renewable Energy Smart distribution networks Engineering Data Science Cyber Security Legal/Compliance/Regulation Business: International Studies, Human Resources, Communications, Finance, Treasury Information Technology

Applications can be submitted from the day of publication until 8:00 am (EST) on April 2nd 2018. The scholarships are aimed at courses provided by university centres of excellence, at either a regional or international level, especially those offered by the following US universities: -

Binghamton University Cornell University Massachusetts Institute of Technology Rochester Institute of Technology University of Maine University of Oregon University of Rochester Yale University

3. Candidate requirements 

Scholarships from AVANGRID are aimed at students who are US nationals.



Applicants must be in possession of a degree from an accredited university at the time of application. If an applicant is in their final year of undergraduate study in the academic year 2017-2018, the award of the scholarship will be conditional upon their obtaining a university degree no later than July 2018 with the same or better mark than they had at the time of application.



Applicants whose studies result with a diploma, associate’s degree or certification without a corresponding undergraduate degree from an accredited university will not be considered.



Applicants must have a GPA of 3.5 or above from their undergraduate degree.



Knowledge of languages: All applicants must be able to prove an excellent command of English by presenting a certificate of recognized standard. Valid English certificates are: − − − − −

Cambridge University: First Certificate or higher. IELTS (minimum grade: 5.0). TOEFL (minimum grade: 61 in Internet based, 173 in computer based or 500 in paper based). Higher cycle aptitude certificate (old syllabus) or advanced level certificate B2 (new syllabus), completed and passed, from official language schools. Diplomas or certificates issued by university language schools, as evidence of having completed and passed level B2 (or higher) of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).



Applicants may not receive any remuneration or wages or be in receipt of any grant, financial aid or other award of a similar nature from and public or private institutions and foundations during the period for which the scholarship is awarded.



Applicants may not provide services nor maintain employment, training or other types of relationship with other public or private entities during the period for which the scholarship is awarded only pertained or permitted by applicable law. In addition, scholarship recipients will notify AVANGRID of their participation in selection processes for incorporation into other public or private entities, in order to assess their compatibility with the scholarship.

4. Documentation To apply for the scholarship the applicant must submit the completed electronic1 application form before 8:00 am (EST) on April 2nd 2018, attaching the documents specified below, which must be labelled with the document number followed by the applicant's surname(s).

Document 1. A photocopy of the national identity card, passport, or other government-issued document which provides proof of identity.



Document 2. The applicant's CV/Resume which details academic studies and any relevant work experience and/or course work.



Document 3. Undergraduate Diploma. Those candidates who are pending completion of their studies should include academic transcripts.



Document 4. Full academic transcript for the degree studies that includes the grades for the studies taken, all the subjects and grades, year by year, as well as credits passed. In the event that different lower and higher level university studies have been completed, both certifications must be presented. Students enrolled in the final year of the course must provide their academic transcript for the years and subjects completed.



Document 5. At least two original reference letters from university professors. It is recommended and preferred to have a letter of reference from an employer in previous working or internship experiences.



Document 6. Certificate proving the level for all the languages specified in the application form.



Document 7. Contract or work history describing the candidate's professional experience, where appropriate.



Document 8. Accreditation certificate for the awards and grants specified on the application form. Only awards and grants received since the start of university studies will be considered.

In the case of passing the pre-selection process, AVANGRID will require the presentation of original or certified documents and any other documents it deems necessary. The maximum size allowed per document is 3 MB.

5. Selection process Pre-selection The selection process will include an initial pre-selection of candidates, taking into account Review of the candidate’s submitted documentation as well as University recommendations.

Interview In the case of passing the pre-selection process, the AVANGRID selection committee may, at its discretion, arrange an interview with the candidate, in order to assess their competence, training, studies, experiences and motivation.

6. Nomination of candidates The selection committee will propose a list of selected candidates. AVANGRID Management Committee will take the final decision on the candidates to be awarded the scholarships. The candidates who will be

awarded the scholarships will be notified by email and by mail. The final list of candidates and a list of applicants will be published on AVANGRID’s website (www.avangrid.com) in July 2018. The list of candidates approved by AVANGRID will be final and not open to appeal. AVANGRID will not provide any information on the applicants that have been rejected. The final nomination of candidates is subject to the following conditions being met:  

Receipt of a signed Letter of Acceptance dated not more than five days after the publication date of the final list of beneficiaries, sent to the address included in the award documentation. Submission by final-year students of the official certification showing that they have obtained the corresponding degree. If an applicant does not complete the studies, they will lose their opportunity for a scholarship.

7. Financial provision and taxes The scholarship will cover the following2:  

Annual tuition at the university or college in the US. Annual program allowance of $25,200 during the academic year to cover costs for accommodations and transportation (where applicable)

The scholarship will have a maximum duration of one academic year from the beginning of the program studies. Scholarship recipients must comply with all tax obligations that apply to them as the beneficiary of a scholarship. The Company will not provide tax advice or guidance.

8. Scholarship management The scholarship recipient must meet the following obligations: 

It is a requirement of AVANGRID that the candidate is able to back up the information required for the selection process, whether photocopies or electronic files, with original or certified documents. Furthermore, AVANGRID may ask for the certification of any data mentioned in the candidate's CV.



Complete the foreseen studies as requested. Candidates who receive a scholarship are required to begin the program of study in August/September of the 2018-2019 academic year and finish it within the timeframe estimated in degree program.



If the scholarship was awarded for a degree program that requires work experience, the scholarship recipient will be eligible to apply for opportunities within AVANGRID. AVANGRID will put forth their best effort to provide a learning opportunity for scholars. Scholarship recipients will be able to apply for opportunities they are interested in on our separate employment channel platform which can be found at: www.avangrid.com/careers. scholarship was awarded includes obligatory paid work experience with an entity other than AVANGRID, the scholarship recipient must inform AVANGRID as far in advance as possible. 

The intent of this program is to allow scholars to focus on their studies. Therefore, if a scholarship winner accepts a job with pay, the stipend will be put on hold and scholar would only accept the money that he/she receives from the paid employment opportunity.



In addition, scholarship recipients must send AVANGRID any information required in relation to the monitoring and development of the master's degree and submit evaluations and results for the studies carried out within the time limits granted. The scholarship recipient must inform AVANGRID of their residential address during their studies, immediately after their arrival. Furthermore, they must inform AVANGRID of any change of address or email over the period of time that the grant is awarded.



If any work resulting from the studies is published, the author must state his/her status as a scholarship recipient of an AVANGRID Scholarship.



If the scholarship recipient does not fulfil the obligations defined in the Call or other contractual agreements, the Company reserves the right to rescind remaining payments and/or request repayment of funds as allowed by law. Examples of this include, but are not limited to: the recipient dropping out of the approved program, recipient violations in state and federal law, or other actions which would violate the terms and conditions as agreed upon by the Company and the University; as allowed by law.

9. Other terms and conditions 

The scholarship holder shall be invited join the AVANGRID's selection and recruitment program through our separate employment channel platform which can be found at: www.avangrid.com/careers. To join the platform the scholarship holder shall independently accept the corresponding access conditions and privacy policy.



AVANGRID will offer an internal company mentor who will assist the scholarship recipient in their academic, educational and professional development.



The scholarship recipient must observe strict reserve and confidentiality regarding all information that they receive from AVANGRID as a result of this scholarship. This obligation of confidentiality extends for the duration of the scholarship.



The company reserves the right to revoke the Scholarship Call or Award based on business, economic or other factors where permitted by law.

10. Personal data We provide the following information in relation to the processing of the personal data that you provide through your scholarship application and all other information contained therein, as well as in relation to the processing of personal data if your application is successful. ENTITIES RESPONSIBLE OF DATA PROCESSING The entities responsible of data processing are Avangrid Management Company, who is organizing the scholarship you are applying for, and Iberdrola S.A, who is entrusted with the Iberdrola Group's internal administrative management. PURPOSE Candidates’ personal data is processed in order to analyze their suitability for a scholarship during a scholarship selection process and to carry out the selection process. If the candidate is granted a scholarship, all personal data collected through the application for the scholarship and the documentation attached to the application, the images collected of the scholarship award ceremony, any follow-up information, the data collected on the survey provided at the end of the studies, the results of the studies made, the information collected from the university in question and the results of the evaluation of the candidates will be processed for the following purposes in addition to those specified above:    

For selecting and recruiting candidates. To ensure that the candidate meets the requirements throughout the term of the scholarship. To make the corresponding payments to the scholarship holder. For the name and image to be posted on the AVANGRID and Iberdrola Group websites, where they will be made available to the public, in order to make the identity of the beneficiaries of the AVANGRID scholarships known.

Only the personal data that, having been submitted voluntarily by the candidate, is deemed necessary for the aforesaid purposes shall be subject to processing. Appropriate technical and organizational measures shall be applied to guarantee an appropriate level of protection based on the level of risk, taking into account the current state of the art, the costs of implementation and the nature, scope, context and processing purposes, as well as the risks of probability and seriousness for the rights and freedoms of individuals. Personal data will only be processed for the above purposes, not being further processed for purposes incompatible with those described. In the event that the information is to be used for purposes other than the above, all relevant information will be provided to the interested parties prior to the new processing.

Applicants' personal information shall be processed for the duration of the scholarship call and for six months after the awarding of the scholarship. After this period, all personal data will be deleted, except where its use has been authorized for other purposes, in which case the information may be used until said authorization is revoked. The scholarship holder's information may be processed throughout the term of the scholarship. Once this term has concluded, data will be blocked and maintained as needed during any applicable limitation period. When such term expires, personal data will be deleted or anonymized, except for the data required to control access to any new application processes. LEGITIMATION The legal basis for the processing of the personal data is are the terms of the scholarship application process and, in the case of the scholarship holder, the performance of the contract that results from the execution of the letter of acceptance and your consent, when such consent is required for the processing of personal data for other purposes, as well as the legitimate interest of Iberdrola, S.A. in the Group's internal administrative management. RECIPIENTS Personal data of candidates or scholarship holders may be shared with the universities in question and with affiliates of the entities responsible for data processing. It may also be shared if we reasonably believe we are required to do so by law, regulation or other government authority, to comply with any court order, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request, or to protect the rights and property of us or the public. We may also cooperate with law enforcement and regulatory agencies in any official investigation and we may disclose information to the relevant agency in doing so. RIGHTS In connection with Iberdrola, S.A., you have the right to access your personal data, as well as to request the rectification of inaccurate data or its deletion, where the information in question is no longer required for the purposes for which it was initially collected, in addition to exercising the right of opposition to or limitation to the processing and portability of the personal data. In the event that you are not satisfied with the exercise of your rights, you may submit a complaint before the Spanish Data Protection Authority.
