Tips for Sound Annual Business Financing

With the New Year comes an opportunity to Business Resources Newsletter review goals, budgets and reconsider old B U S I N E S S  RESOURCES NEW strategies.  Here are some reminders for 2017:

SLETTER

Don't procrastinate. Whether it's designing a marketing budget or seeking resources for capital investments, procrastination costs money. The longer you wait, the less you will accomplish. Understand your cash flow. Make sure you're setting aside cash.  Period. Cash reserves is a must.  Invest in financial management software. Software like Quickbooks that helps you manage your finances is a capital improvement that may be eligible for a microloan and/or could be free for first year businesses. Relying on Excel or spiral notebooks is not best practices and can impede your growth and reputation. Diversify. You should have cash flow for protection, capital to reinvest back into your business and available revenue to invest in stocks for long term growth. Don't put all of your eggs in one basket. Find ways to make money with your money. Time is valuable & expensive. Business owners working 80 hours a week are not profitable. Forecast the cost of your time. What's the cost of scheduling employees over making a sale/ securing a client? Business owners' time should be included in the annual budget plan.
