Batik Feathers 58” square © 2016 Donna Lynn Thomas Make each of these rich batik Feathered Star blocks from a different set of prints. Begin with a beautiful multi-color batik for your border and pull colors from it for your blocks. For each block choose a dark and medium batik in one color family, cream background batik, and a red-orange batik. As a class option, I will have $12 precut kits available for sale in class that contain the pieces for one block. The class pre-cutting is done for you in the kits. The fabrics used are batiks similar to those in the sample quilt. There is no requirement to pre-order or prepay for the kits. I will come with a large number of kits in a variety of colors from which you can choose. You can choose and pay for them before class, after class or during lunch via cash, check, or credit card. The kit gives you the opportunity to try the technique without committing to yet another quilt/UFO. If you do wish to continue on to make the quilt, you will simple need to make more blocks in different colors in a variety of your own or purchased fabrics. This is easy to do as each block is made from completely different sets of prints.
