Representative capabilities: •

INCDIE ICPE-CA, ROMANIA – Management of the national and international research projects; – Great experience in developing and implementing of some technical solution aimed on energy generation from renewable sources, including biogas; – Microbiological analysis, monitoring of fermentative biochemical processes in aerobic and anaerobic conditions, microscopically examination of living cells, bacterial counting etc.

BIOMA, P.R.CHINA – Biomass to biogas solutions; – Providing of the reliable solutions for the environmental pollution problems caused by organic wastes; – Anaerobic microbiology, biogas fermentation processes and facilities; – Training programs for renewable energy and biogas generation.

Both partners have carried out prior fundamental research to increase energy efficiency and biogas yield for laboratory scale and small to medium capacity facilities.

Project objectives: 1. Researches on anaerobic microorganisms  Enhancement of methane content and biogas yield in large anaerobic digesters;  Effective treatment of organic waste by anaerobic digestion under high hydrostatic pressures;  Assessment of the pressure influence on microorganisms in anaerobic digesters; Analysis of growing and metabolic activity for hydrolytic, acidogenic and methanogenic microbial species living in anaerobic digesters;  Selecting and enrichment of some biogas producing microorganisms in order to get a high quality biogas;  Assessment of inoculums biomass for the selected microorganisms; 2. Researches on valuable algae growth  Assessment of the most valuable algae species to be grown for recovery of valuable compounds and CO2 valorification;  Selecting of the best algae specie and growth experiments carried out under specific environment conditions.

Main project activities:  Investigation of hydrolytic, acidogenic and methanogenic microorganisms in anaerobic digesters for various hydrostatic pressure values in the proposed range of 0 – 6 bar;  Selecting and growing of some specific microorganisms species which could produce high quality biogas under high pressure environment conditions;  Testing of the selected species to be used as inoculums in large size anaerobic digesters;  Qualitative and quantitative assessment of the biogas that is generated in reactor under high hydrostatic pressure;  Experimental testing for several algae species, identification of their best growth environmental conditions and nutrients needs;  Dissemination of the project research results to the potential investors for large biogas units.

Research methodology •

Specific project activities by Romanian and Chinese parts, in order to provide a complex and general view and knowledge on the processes that occur in anaerobic digesters which operate under high pressure conditions.

Training courses for farmers and business sector which will be held both in Romania and China under the coordination of the Chinese partner.

Specific tasks: •

INCDIE ICPE-CA – Performing of anaerobic digestion experiments using laboratory scale biogas units operating under different pressures; – Assessment of methanogenic potential for various types of biomass for selecting the best feedstock for a high quality biogas; Chemical analysis of feedstock biomass; – Qualitative and quantitative analysis of biogas generated from the experimental systems; – Investigation of microorganisms living in high pressures anaerobic conditions; – Dissemination of the project results;

BIOMA – Selecting and enrichment of some methanogens species which are able to produce a high quality biogas under mesophilic to low termophilic conditions (20-650C) and various hydrostatic pressures; – Assessment of inoculums quality to be used in starting the anaerobic biochemical processes; – Selecting and growth experiments for algae under specific environment and nutrient conditions; – Promotion activities for developing of small, medium and large size biogas units in Romania;
