Bilingual Licensing Agent Re:Sound is looking to recruit a Bilingual Licensing Agent to help its Licensing department with outreach efforts for a growing number of tariffs. Re:Sound tariffs set out when and how businesses are required to obtain licences for the public performance of recorded musical works in Canada. This position will report to the Manager, Licensing. The following is a general description of the position’s duties and responsibilities: • • •

Help department meet its annual revenue budget by achieving individual goals and targets. Initiate outbound calls to potential licensees and create invoices where applicable. Respond to inbound inquiries and provide information to potential licensees on performance rights, the value of music, Re:Sound tariffs , legal requirements and responsibilities. Assist customers in identifying the applicable tariff rates, fee schedules and calculate the licence fee owing. Document activities in a Customer Relationship Management system in accordance with department policies and procedures. Other duties as required.

Qualifications/Experience/Attributes: • • • • • • • • • • •

Post-secondary degree or college diploma. 3 years of sales/business development or accounts receivable experience. 2 years telephone customer service experience. Conflict resolution skills. Proficiency in dealing with legal interpretation and explaining concepts of a legal nature. Excellent communication skills (written and oral). Self-motivated, creative and innovative. Computer proficiency with Internet searches and MS Office (particularly Word and Outlook). Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of the Canadian music and/or copyright industries. Must be bilingual (French /English)
