The Boston College media r elations office is pleased to work with members of the media to meet their needs covering our hockey program.

Credentials

All requests for working pr ess credentials for 2011-12 Boston College home hockey games should be made at least two days prior to the game in question. All credentials should be picked up at the pr ess will call table outside the first-floor elevator on the south side (Beacon Street side) of Conte Forum.

All interviews with Boston College hockey players or coaches must be arranged thr ough the media relations office. It is suggested that 48 hours notice be given for an inter view request. The Media Relations Office will arrange an interview time that is mutually convenient for the player and media r epresentative. Players are not to be called in their dormitory rooms, nor should they be contacted via cell phone, facebook or email. Rather, players will return telephone calls to members of the media. Players will not be asked to miss classroom time for interviews.

Press Facilities

Boston College’s hockey pr ess box is located above the spectators’ seating ar ea on the south side of Kelley Rink. The pr ess box can be accessed by taking the elevator on the building’s south side to the fourth level. Writers and game operations personnel will be assigned seats in the two open areas of the fourth-floor press box. Television crews, radio crews and home and visiting coaches will be assigned booths adjacent to the writers’ work space.

Press Hospitality

Food and refreshments are served approximately two hours prior to faceof f in the Conte Forum Media Suite. Beverages are served on the fourth floor press box.

The Conte Forum media suite is located on the building’s ground floor. To access the media suite, enter the visitor’ s skating lobby on the ground floor of the south side and pr oceed approximately 150 feet down the hallway located directly in the front right.

Internet Access

Wireless Internet access is available throughout Conte Forum. To gain access to the secur e network, connect to a wir ed network jack or the wireless network called “BostonCollege.” Open a Web browser and type http://www .bc.edu. Follow the network activation steps and you will be asked to restart your machine.

Photographers

Photographers also will be issued cr edentials through the Media Relations Of fice, and will be allowed to shoot fr om a staging ar ea on the concourse level (south side) of Conte Forum. Shooting from the penalty-box ar ea is r estricted to Boston College-affiliated personnel. Special r equests may be made to media relations personnel.

Radio Broadcasts

Radio booths are available for the visiting commercial stations on the fourth floor of the press box. Telephone lines have been pr e-installed in each booth. Stations wishing to br oadcast a game should contact the BC media r elations office at 617-552-3004 at least two weeks prior to the contest. The fee is $100 per (analog) line. Stations wishing to use ISDN lines should notify the Media Relations Of fice, and also should contact Paul Flynn in the Boston College Network Services Office at (617) 552-8920.

TV Broadcasts

A television broadcast booth is located at center ice on the four th floor of the pr ess box. This location has been pr e-wired with multiple triaxial cable drops. Any network production unit televising a game fr om Conte Forum/Kelley Rink must use this pre-installed cable.

Post-Game Interviews

The Boston College locker room is closed to all members of the media. Head coach Jerry Y ork and requested players will be available for interviews following a brief cooling-off period. After home games, York will address the media representatives in the media workr oom, located on the first floor (nor th side) of Conte Forum. Media wishing to interview players should notify appropriate members of the BC media r elations staff just prior to or at the conclusion of the game. Every ef fort will be made to bring requested players to the interview area. Visiting teams will also conduct their post-game interviews in the media workroom.

Radio

A live radio broadcast of each game is available free of char ge over the Internet at www.bceagles.com. Boston College radio broadcasts will be handled by play-by-play announcer Jon Rish and expert analyst Ken Hodge. Rish, a 1994 graduate of Boston College, begins his 15th year calling the Eagles. He began his tenure with the Eagles as the color analyst during the 1997-98 season befor e switching to play-by-play duties during the 1998-99 season. He also works for WEEI 850 AM.

Hodge, a BC star in the mid-1980s, begins his 12th year as the color analyst. He still holds the BC record for assists by a fr eshman (44) and ranks among the top 25 on the car eer scoring list. After leaving the Heights, he enjoyed a four-year career in the National Hockey League, including two years with the Boston Bruins.

Television

The New England Sports Network (NESN) will be the primary broadcast home of Hockey East. Versus and CBS College Spor ts also are scheduled to televise select games.
