Brian Kubic Sentenced to One Year Probation for Animal Cruelty Brian Kubic was sentenced to one year of probation and ordered to have no contact with animals Wednesday as part of cases filed against the owners of Jurassic Pets in Thornton. Kubic (DOB 09-11-1993) had pleaded guilty to one count of misdemeanor animal cruelty. Assistant District Attorney Jess Redman asked that Kubic be barred from working with animals as a condition of probation, noting that the family continues to work with animals and at the pet store. “I don’t think that is appropriate,” Redman said. Adams County Judge Brian Bowen sentenced Kubic to one year of probation and imposed a $500 fine plus court costs. As a condition of probation, Bowen ordered that Kubic is not to work with animals unless he receives training or education in that kind of work. Charges were filed against Kubic, Lynn Denise Kubic (DOB 05/21/1961) and Kenneth Mark Kubic (DOB 06/14/54) in March 2015 following an investigation by Thornton Police Department after complaints were received about gross neglect of animals at Jurassic Pets at 10380 Washington Street in Thornton.
Lynn Kubic, owner of Jurassic Pets in Thornton, pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of misdemeanor animal cruelty and will be sentenced at 8:30 a.m. July 27 in Division 2 of Adams County Court. Kenneth Kubic was convicted of 18 counts of animal cruelty after his trial in May and will be sentenced at 9 a.m. on August 10.
