Abstract of the day’s topics: “On-line skills with New English File” Overview: This session will look at the new On‐line Skills component of New English File. We will also focus on the NEF digital  books and the new Advanced I‐Tools. (Christopher Gritton, OUP)

“Preparing students for the Cambridge ESOL exams” Overview: This session, aimed at those teachers with no or only limited experience of preparing students for Cambridge ESOL examinations, will initially provide a brief overview of the exams, highlighting connections with the British School levels, syllabus and material. Teachers will then find out what steps they can take in order to ensure that their students have the best possible chance of success in their chosen exam. (Robert Anderson, BS Salario)

”The British School Group Steps to English for Teenage Learners” Overview: An open forum in which to discuss the problems faced when teaching teens and suggestions for how to resolve them. Sharing ideas for supplementary materials beyond the text book in order to stimulate and maintain interest.”  (Melanie Davis, BS Montesacro)

“The Cambridge oral exams - helping students to speak confidently” Overview: Tips and practical advice on how to prepare students for the Cambridge oral exams, encouraging them  to speak confidently and show the examiner the English that they know. (Bronya Louise Kotze, BS Somma Vesuviana)  

“Making the most of the Junior coursebooks and e-labs” Overview : In this session there will be an overview of the material for Junior courses, including extensive new supplementary resources for the students and greatly

improved course guides for the teacher. Teachers with experience of using the coursebook in its experimental year will be able to see the new components and share advice with those teachers using it for the first time this year. (Kay Bacci, BS Salario) ”Sharing successful strategies in using the BSSE for Children” Overview: The talk will focus on the strategies we used and experiences we had using the NEW British School Books for Children adapted from Richmond Publishers (Star Players). Teachers who have used the book can share their successes on how they made it work for their students and teachers who are new to the books will get some first hand info of what really works! (Nick Emery & Simona Marturano, BS Monteverde) “INDUCTION SESSION FOR NEW TEACHERS” Working as part of a team at the British School Group Organisation. Signposting the road for teachers: standards and procedures, forms,  tools and recommended best practices with a brief overview of the British School Learning Path, didactic material and support for students  and teachers.
