Invitation Indian Academy Degree College - Autonomous, Bangalore is pleased to invite you for a two day national conference on “Nanomaterials And Nanoelectronic Devices For Energy Applications” scheduled to be held on 28th and 29th July, 2017 in Bengaluru. The conference is being jointly organized by Department of Physics and Electronics, Indian Academy Degree College - Autonomous (IADC-A), and Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT). Indian Academy Degree College - Autonomous is the flagship higher educational institution of Indian Academy Group of Institutions established by Dr T Somasekhar who returned after a successful research and academic career in US universities to establish world class educational institutions in India. Since its inception in 1994, the College has steadily excelled in its endeavour to espouse quality and autonomy of higher education in sciences and other disciplines. In this process, it has been accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ grade in two consecutive cycles with a CGPA of 3.27, and also was enlisted under 2(f) & 12(B) of UGC Act, 1956. The quality of its management is certified by TUV Rhineland with ISO 9001:2008. Finally, the status of ‘autonomous college under Bangalore University’ is bestowed upon it by the government from the academic year 2016-17. The Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT), established by the great vision of the late professor Dr DP Khandelwal is a volountary orgnisation promoting the quality of physics teaching and the competencies of physics teachers. It has over 6500 life members from 1500 organisations of India and abroad, who include physics teachers, professors, researchers, administrators and even science enthusiasts. The Association has established centres for experimental physics at various locations in the country, and also conducts conventions and competitions for teachers and students. It has been uninterruptedly publishing a monthly journal since 1984. The two-day national conference, organized jointly by IADC-A and IAPT RC-12A, aims to bring academia and researchers together on a common platform to bridge the knowledge gaps and to facilitate research collaborations. The conference is being held in the premises of Indian Academy Degree College – Autonomous, located on the easily commutable Outer Ring Road of Bengaluru, with a view to provide an academic ambience, professional audiences and a productive environment. We are expecting a galaxy of eminent experts from the world of Nanosciences to enlighten the enthusiastic participants with insights drawn from the latest frontiers of the discipline.

The Theme: "Nanomaterials and Nanoelectronic Devices for Energy Applications” One of the major challenges for the present and the future science community is to meet the energy demands of the globe. This increasing demand has opened up broad horizons for the scientists to explore the Nanomaterials with their wonderful properties. The Nano devices are expected to play a key role in gifting the future with clean, sustainable and highly efficient energy storage devices. This conference focuses to explore the novelty of Nano materials &Nano devices used in energy harvesting, conversion, storage and utilization. We welcome research and review papers related to experimental, theoretical or simulation works that are significant to the theme. It is expected to receive papers for presentation by teachers of UG and PG courses and research scholars in various colleges, universities and research institutions across the country. The main objective of the conference is to foster collaboration between academic and research fraternity. The Advisory Board for the conference comprises Professors from Indian Institute of Science (IISC), Bengaluru and Bangalore University, Bengaluru.

Subthemes of the Conference include ? Electronic Circuits for Efficient Energy Usage. ? Super Capacitors. ? Nanomaterials for High Performance LEDs. ? Optoelectronic Nanomaterials for Smart Displays. ? High performance Solar Cells based on Hybrid Nanostructures. ? Optical, Elctronic and Magnetic Nanomaterials. ? Nanomaterials for Energy and Environment. ? Applications of Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology.
