Welcome to Piney Grove! Welcome to the worship of God at Piney Grove Baptist Church. We hope that you will experience the presence of the Risen Lord in this place. If you are a guest, we hope the following information will prove helpful to you: Communication Cards are located in the pew rack in front of you. We would love for our guests to fill out a card and drop it in the offering plate during the service. The information that you share will assist us as we welcome you to our church. Sermons from the previous week’s service are available online through the church website. If you would like a manuscript copy of the pastor’s sermon, contact Scottie Isaacs in the church office and he’ll be glad to send you a copy. Bible Study for all ages is offered on a regular basis at 9:45 AM on Sundays. Our Special Friends Class seeks to serve persons with special needs. We would be happy to help you find the class that is right for you. In addition to Sunday School, our pastor leads a large group Bible Study on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM in the Sanctuary. At the same time, we offer “G.R.O.V.E. KIDZ,” a program for our children that incorporates the study of the Bible and missions, recreation, crafts, snacks, and music. A New Member’s Class is offered periodically. It is a chance to meet with the pastor for three Sundays during the Sunday School hour to discuss the way Piney Grove operates, learn about Baptist distinctives, and to answer any questions you might have. Please see Rev. Reece if you are interested in attending. An Invitation to make a public decision of your commitment to follow Christ or your commitment to unite with the membership of our church family is given at the end of each Sunday morning service. Prior to making this decision any of our ministers will be happy to meet with you to help you as you make your decision. If you are a guest with us, we are so glad that you have come our way. We want to do whatever we can to help you find a church home that is right for you.

PINEY GROVE BAPTIST CHURCH Service of Worship and Baptism Fifth Sunday after Epiphany February 9, 2014
11:00 A.M.
Preparing Our Hearts for Worship “Faith enables us to move out of the essential hopelessness of our world and to step into the ‘glorious liberty’ that God is bringing to the whole creation through Jesus. It is a different path, a whole new way of life that sees the possibility of new life in every death, sees the light shining in the deepest darkness, and sees hope in the midst of despair.” Alan Brehm Prelude Chiming of the Hour

ASH GROVE
The Master hath come, and He calls us to follow The track of the footprints He leaves on our way; Far over the mountain and through the deep hollow, The path leads us on to the mansions of day: The Master hath called us, the children who fear Him, Who march ‘neath Christ’s banner, His own little band; We love Him and seek Him, we long to be near Him, And rest in the light of His beautiful land. The Master hath called us; the road may be dreary, And dangers and sorrows are strewn on the track; But God’s Holy Spirit shall comfort the weary; We follow the Savior and cannot turn back;

Sermon
More love, more power, More of You in my life. More love, more power, More of You in my life. I will worship You with all of my heart. I will worship You with all of my mind. I will worship You with all of my strength, For You are my Lord. Repeat
Come, friends, without delay; Taught by the Bible, led by the Spirit, We’ll walk the heav’nly way.
The Master hath called us, in life’s early morning, With spirits as fresh as the dew on the sod: We turn from the world, with its smiles and its scorning, To cast in our lot with the people of God: The Master hath called us, His sons and His daughters, We plead for His blessing and trust in His love; And through the green pastures, beside the still waters, He’ll lead us at last to His kingdom above.

“More Love, More Power”
Invocation and Welcome
The Master hath called us: though doubt and temptation May compass our journey, we cheerfully sing: “Press onward, look upward,” thro’ much tribulation; The children of Zion must follow their King.
OLD HUNDREDTH
Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heav’nly host; Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen. The Holy Ordinance of Baptism †Song of Response “How Deep the Father’s Love for Us”
Townend
How deep the Father’s love for us, how vast beyond all measure; That He should give His only Son to make a wretch His treasure. How great the pain of searing loss; the Father turns His face away As wounds which mar the Chosen One bring many sons to glory. Behold the Man upon a cross, my sin upon His shoulders; Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice call out among the scoffers. It was my sin that held Him there until it was accomplished. His dying breath has brought me life; I know that it is finished. I will not boast in anything: no gifts, no power, no wisdom; But I will boast in Jesus Christ; His death and resurrection. Why should I gain from His reward? I cannot give an answer. But this I know with all my heart: His wounds have paid by ransom. †Benediction
