To: Nature Publishing Group, a division of Macmillan Publishers Ltd, ("NPG") 1. In conslderatlon of NPG agreelng to publish the Contribution In the Journal the Author(s) hereby asslgn (where relevant by way of present assignment of future rights) to NPG all copylight and other Intellectual property or related rights ("Rights") in the Contribution throughout the world for the full term of protectlon and all renewals, revivals and extensions.

2. Although ownershlp of all Righk in the Contribution is transferred to NPG. NPG hereby grants to the Author(s) a licence of the folbwlng nonexclusive, non-transferable rights, provided that (i) the rights must not be exercised before flrst publication of the Contribution in the Journal by the NPG; and (ii) when reproducing or referring to the Contribution or extracts from it the Author@) must include an acknowledaement of NPG's OWnershiD and first pubiicatio; in the Journal [substanti~iiy in the following form: Flrst published In [Journal name, issue number, volume number, year, DOI] 0 Nature Publlshlng Group, a dlvislon of Macmillan Publishers Limited]: a)

They and any academic institution where they work at the time mav reDr0d~ce the Contribution for the pipose of course teaching

b)

To reproduce, or to allow a third party publisher to reproduce the Contributlon in whole or In Dart in anv Drinted volume (book or thesis) authored by ih'e Authors(s) s"bject to NPG's prior written approval to be granted at NPG's sole discretion; and

c)

To reuse flgures or tables created by the Author@) and contained in the Contribution in oral presentations and other works created by them.

3. The Author@) warrant and represent that: a)

The Author@) are the sole authors of and sole owners of the Rlghts in the Contribution. If the Contribution includes materials of others, the Author@) have either (I) obtained a written assignment from the owners of the copyright in all such materials to enable the Author@) to grant the rights contained herein and attached

copies of all such documents to this assignment: or (li) identified such material on the llst attached to thls asslgnment with sufficient information to enable NPG to obtain such an asslgnment or such permlssions necessary to exercise the rights granted herein; b)

All of the facts contained in the Contribution are true and accurate:

The Author who has slgned this Agreement has full right, power and authority to enter into this Agreement on behalf of all of the Author(s);

d)

Nothing in the Contribution is obscene, defamatory, violates any right of privacy or publicity, infringes any intellectual property rights (Includlng wlthout limitation copyright, database rights or trade mark rights) or any other human, personal or other rlghts of any person or entity or is otherwise unlawful; and

e)

Nothing in the Contribution infringes any duty of confidentiality which any of the Author(s) may owe to anyone else or violates any contract, express or implied, of any of the Author@), and all of the institutions in which work recorded In the Contribution was created have authorised publication of the Contribution.

4. The Author(@ hereby consent to the inclusion of electronic llnks from the ConMbutlon to third-party materlalwherever it mav be located. The Authork) hereby pmvide thelr consent and waive their rights provided for in section 80 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 to the extent such consent and waiver is a necessary condition of any exercise of the Rights by NPG.

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in amrdance with the laws of England without regard to the principles of conflicts of law. The parties hereto submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
