Technologies to Preserve Your Fondest Memories in Stunning Beauty.
The HD 700 Series uses the progressive method to record twice as much image data as the interlace method. Whereas interlacing requires two images to produce a complete picture, the progressive method records a single image as a complete picture. Plus, the 50 Progressive Recording of the HD 700 Series produces 50 images per second. This extremely dense image information creates intricate detail and silky smooth motion. Even when subjects move quickly, afterimages are minimized to create more natural images. The progressive method is most effective when shooting detailed designs where moiré patterns tend to occur, or when capturing scenes during sports events where the subjects are intensely moving around. Also, the recorded images are displayed clearly even when they are made into still images, so it is possible to preserve stunning photos when clipping them from videos.

3MOS Sensor
The HD 700 Series employs the 3MOS Sensor, with its three-sensor configuration. This provides a resolution of 7.59 million effective motion image pixels (2.53 million x 3). The 3MOS Sensor splits the light information captured by the lens into the three primary colors red, green and blue - and processes each color with its own individual sensor. This reduces light loss compared to the 1MOS sensor, and renders colors, details and gradation all with intricate detail and natural beauty. This superb color reproduction maximizes the inherent quality of Full-HD progressive images. New technology to raise lightgathering efficiency has also improved sensor sensitivity and cut noise in half*. This gives 3MOS Sensor you bright images with minimal noise even in B MOS l o w - l i g h t s i t u a t i o n s . Panasonic HD camcorders use Leica Dicomar lenses, which are renowned for their ability to render sharp images and excellent shading. They also suppress ghosting, flare, and distortion at the image edges. Even in strong sunlight, these superb lenses maintain high contrast and resolution. A bright new F1.5-F2.8 lens with a 46mm filter diameter has been created for the HD 700 Series. Efficient light collection allows the new lens to capture bright, clear images even in dim lighting or at high shutter speeds. POWER O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer)
The popular O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) function that detects hand-shake while shooting and corrects the optical axis to minimize blurring has evolved into the new POWER O.I.S. It features more powerful hand-shake detection and a greatly improved corrective capability. When shooting, hand-shake often comes on gradually due to factors like breathing rhythms or the surrounding wind. While this kind of low-frequency hand-shake went undetected with conventional O.I.S., POWER O.I.S. has a variety of new functions that detect even the slightest shake. It suppresses hand-shake with approximately five times* the corrective capability. And POWER O.I.S. also works for zooming, which is highly susceptible to hand-shake, and for both high and low angle shooting, where hand-shake often creeps in. It's an optical system so there's no image degradation, which means that you capture all the natural beauty that the lens has to offer. *Compared to previous O.I.S. systems.

Intelligent Resolution Technology
The Intelligent Resolution Technology incorporated in the new Crystal Engine PRO uses edge detection technology to confirm the edges of objects within the image, then emphasizes the edges for optimal clarity. For example, it brings crisp definition to patterns and the outlines of objects like flowers. Conversely, it reduces noise and enhances the natural smoothness of parts without edges, like the sky. The increased sharpness is especially effective for images with delicate details. This highly advanced technology maximizes the beauty of Full-HD images.

The new Enhanced Optical 78x Zoom has been added to the compact body of the easy-to-carry camcorder. By taking maximum advantage of the effective CCD area, the camera makes it easy to capture a wide range of dynamic images, from sweeping landscapes with the 33mm wide-angle scope to close-ups of distant subjects with the 78x zoom, without having to worry about image degradation. However, with long-distance zoom shots, even a tiny bit of hand-shake has a huge effect on picture quality. That's where Advanced O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) comes in. It shifts a corrective lens as you shoot to help eliminate the effects of hand-shake, so you get clear, sharp shots even at high zoom levels. It's an essential feature for getting the most out of this incredible zoom lens.

Doubles the recording time.
Long Recording mode doubles the recording time of usual MPEG2 recording modes. It uses the new high-compression technology of the H.264/AVC format to compress data to a level that doubles the recording time while maintaining the same image quality as the MPEG-2 format. It's ideal for recording onto small-capacity SD cards. It also increases PC compatibility, and makes it easier to upload videos onto video sharing sites like YouTube.

The technology of the previous Wind Cut function has evolved to form the Wind Noise Canceller. The new function automatically detects and suppresses only wind noise, to give you natural sounds with lifelike ambience. Also, unlike the previous Wind Cut function, which switched to monaural recording, the Wind Noise Canceller enables stereo recording. This maintains natural sounds when shooting outdoors. 15

Simply touch a subject within the LCD frame. This function will then lock on and start tracking your subject. When the subject smiles, it'll automatically snap the shutter.
1. Arrange the data that is split onto two types of media on an SD card. If the SD card has sufficient capacity, it's possible to arrange all of the split data as a single continuous scene on the SD card. *HD camcorder only. 2. Use a DVD burner to create a disc. If the SD card is not big enough to hold all of the split data, use a DVD burner to create a disc with all the moving pictures as a single continuous scene.

The time lapse function uses longer frame intervals than standard shooting. You can use this function to capture shortened or condensed footage of events that actually take place over a much longer time period. For example, time lapse recording is ideal for shooting a flower in the process of blooming, or a long, slow sunset. Many fake or imitation batteries have been found among those sold at unusually low prices and those which customers cannot check for themselves before purchasing. • Please confirm the latest information about batteries on the following website. http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/e_cam/index.html (This website is in English only.) *2 • An SD card utilizes a portion of the storage space for formatting and other purposes. •1 GB = 1 billion bytes.
