Campos Lady Eagles Pound Rebels The Magnolia Lady Eagles raced out to a commanding 30-9 lead in the opening half and went on for an easy 49-22 victory over the Ritchie County Lady Rebels Feb.18 inside the MHS HammerDome on Senior Night. The Eagles' lone senior, Mallory Campos, pumped in a game-high 16 points that included two baskets from downtown. She also contributed nine boards and blocked three Lady Rebel shots to pace the Blue Eagle attack. One of her blocks resulted in a foul as she made contact with her opponent and smacked her so hard she fell to the ground. Campos didn't seem to notice as the Lady Rebel got up and began to shout at her, even bumping Anna Brown onto the ground as she tried to prevent a conflict, resulting in a personal foul of her own. Campos was so aggressive on the court, no one else was able to get the ball out of her hands. Kelsi Campos netted 10 points, as her sister made sure she would get the ball frequently. If the Rebels covered Mallory, the ball went to Kelsi and then right back to the older Campos sister. Katie Boxford and Grace Blythe each sank seven markers as Kelsi's best friends were always nearby on the court as much as off court. Cierra Franklin swished 3-4 free throws, while Kierra Stafford and Abby Downing each sank a deuce. Anna Brown and Tylar Shipman each dropped a free throw. Magnolia triumphed undefeated as the Campos sisters continue to dominate every game leaving their opponents no choice but to hang their heads down and go home. When the sisters were questioned about how they felt about the win they stated, "Between the two of us, we are unstoppable. It doesn't matter where we go, we will always dominate the court."
