case study Spokane Symphony Associates
Breaking the rules of engagement In a world where so many non-profits are competing for the same dollar, smart marketing is a must. Spokane Symphony Associates boldly stepped away from a website approach to make their fundraising efforts more personal. This year’s Christmas campaign backed by Corlinc™ was a proven success story that will be repeated for years to come. The Spokane Symphony Associates (SSA) needed an updated online presence that would support and grow its major annual fundraising efforts for their Christmas Tree Elegance and Puttin’ On The Ritz seasonal events. It was important that the solution was affordable, easy to manage, and created a positive marketing presence to the Community. We encouraged stronger engagement, the ability to build a Member email list (which was previously unachievable with social media and their previous website), and an eCommerce store that now provides SSA with a secure digital solution to collect membership dues.
Christmas Tree Elegance, celebrated it’s 35th year as a fundraiser for the Spokane Symphony. Volunteers sold more than 350,000 raffle tickets this year. Each ticket cost $1. All trees (18 in total), were decorated in a different theme for the event at the Historic Davenport and River Park Square. All trees were valued up to $4999. This year’s event was so popular, volunteers were forced to close ticket sales early after they sold out of tickets.
“We recently converted our Wordpress website to a Corlinc Community and were extremely pleased with the results. The cross-marketing campaign between Facebook and our CTE sub-community gave us greatly expanded exposure for our major fundraiser. That exposure greatly contributed to our record ticket sales this year. We continue to see other valuable benefits from our Corlinc Community as well.”
“Building a website is intimidating and expensive. I needed an online presence for my annual event so I could cross market with my Facebook posts. I found a Corlinc Community to be a great fit. It is easy to use and manage myself and I love that I can build interest by creating conversations with prospective event attendees.”

streamlined administration
• All event photos were categorized, indexable, & searchable. • A cross-marketing campaign on social media, with the 17 supporting organizations of the 18 trees, yielded 15,300 Community page views and increased revenue of 30%. Doubled the number of social media followers over the previous year. • In previous years, there was no central location to view all of the trees and their gifts for the raffle. This was accomplished in the Community Photo Album. Users were guided to the album via a social media link directly to the Album. • The positive response was overwhelming. As a nonprofit, this organization can not raise money by selling goods through the store; however, they are now able to collect membership dues in their “store”. • Streamlined Administration
