Introducing our new Perfectly Picked Ciders range...
Cider now accounts for 8.5% of the total On-Trade and has continued to grow in the last 12 months up 0.8% in value MAT* with consumers looking for a more premium product and experience when they go out. With cider appealing to a broad range of age groups and occasions and with so much choice in the market now is a great time to review your range and offer your customers something new. UK cider has never seen so much choice with both traditional and modern ciders now offering
consumers a varied mix of styles and flavours with apple still the dominant style although fruit ciders have grown in popularity. We have reflected this demand for new ciders in our new range with the introduction of Cornish Orchard, Sheppys and Sandford Orchard. We have also looked further afield to bring you world ciders including Ciderboys from the US and Sxolli from South Africa. Along with bottled and draught ciders, consumers are also keen to try more traditional formats like bag in box great for festivals and can be used with or without a hand pull,
cider in cans also offers a chance to appeal to a younger market plus they are great for outdoor spaces where glass is an issue. Cider consumers are looking for new experiences so are likely to try something that’s authentic and with provenance and are willing to pay a premium for it. Our range has been created to offer a variety of styles and serves to suit any consumer or occasion. We really hope you enjoy our new Perfectly Picked Ciders range and welcome any feedback. Enjoy!

Introduction
04. Production
1. Harvest
2. Press
3. Ferment
Cider making starts with the picking of the apples in the autumn. This is either done by hand or a tree shaker. Once picked they are stored until required.
The apples are crushed to a pulp: this is then placed in a cider press to extract the juice.
The juice is then fermented using wild yeast in barrels or tanks, this process will start after two days and can take up to two weeks.

6.
4. Mature
5. Blend
6. Package
When fermentation is over, depending on the style, the cider may be matured for five to six months.
The cider is blended with new and old ciders to moderate any excessive changes; thus maintaining a consistent flavour profile year on year.
The finished cider is then packaged into bottle, can, keg or bag in box ready to be enjoyed!
