C E L E B R AT E A N D S U P P O R T SOCIAL CHANGE THIS FESTIVE SEASON

CHRISTMAS AT OUR CLUB Celebrate Christmas and New Year at The House of St Barnabas; let us take care of the details so you can relax and enjoy the festive spirit with friends, family and colleagues. ABOUT US The House of St Barnabas is a London charity pledging to break the cycle of homelessness. Both our Employment Academy and social business are based in our home at 1 Greek Street, a beautiful Grade I listed Georgian townhouse in the heart of Soho. Our not-for-profit members’ club is fully integrated with our Employment Academy, training people in hospitality whilst immersing them in an environment that encourages discussion and curiosity. Our Academy offers 360° support, providing accredited City & Guilds qualifications, work experience in our club, real job opportunities and mentoring. Most vital is the ongoing support and focus on progression that enables graduates not just to find a job, but to keep it and to thrive. Relaxed, fun and joyfully eclectic, our club is a home from home for a growing membership of social change makers. Membership fees and the suggested donation, the revenue from private hire as well as £1 in every £10 spent in our club, support our vision to make lasting work a reality for those affected by homelessness and social exclusion. More information on the ways you can get involved and support our work in changing people’s lives can be found at the back of this booklet. 020 7437 1894 | www.hosb.org.uk | [email protected] Working together we can break the cycle of homelessness

CELEBR ATING THE FESTIVE SEASON AT

THE DICKENS ROOM It is said that Charles Dickens sat beneath the ancient Mulberry tree in our hidden courtyard garden to write A Tale of Two Cities, using the House as inspiration for Dr Manette and Lucie’s own. Resplendent in the original and historic Georgian blue, this is an inviting space to host 22 of your closest friends, not too far removed from the bustle of the club.

Our dedicated Events Team would love to chat to you to help arrange your perfect event. Our beautiful and historic club rooms are available for parties and private dinners and are the perfect setting for a festive celebration. Contact the Events Team directly on 0203 011 1852 or at [email protected]

OUR SPACES

THE DRAWING ROOM It is the elegant and rare Italianate Rococo plasterwork that gives the House its Grade I listing and this is best admired in the Drawing Room. Once the setting for elegant Georgian parties, now you can host your own exclusive drinks party and wow up to 60 guests.

THE SILK ROOM Once known as the Withdrawing Room, this is traditionally where ladies would have retired to whilst the gentlemen mulled politics and brandy in the Drawing Room. Thankfully those days are long gone! This Christmas why not treat up to 14 guests to a private meal and a slice of history?

THE BAZALGETTE ROOM Once the office of Sir Joseph Bazalgette, engineer and mastermind of London’s sewage system (a less glamorous chapter of the House’s rich history), the quirky shape and disrupted Georgian symmetry of this room is the result of the paranoia which led Sir Bazalgette to build a false wall to hide his architectural plans. A perfect spot to entertain up to 30 guests for a memorable and festive evening.

THE SMALL PRINT Private dining is available for parties of 10 guests or more; parties of up to 10 are invited to enjoy a meal in our restaurant (available to our club members only). Please contact the Events Team at [email protected] for more details. Pre-orders are required for all private dining bookings a minimum of 3 days before your meal. Please read on for our Christmas menus. All prices listed are inclusive of VAT. There is a discretionary 12.5% service charge added to your bill.

LET’S MAKE JANUARY A LITTLE LESS PAINFUL …* Why not share the love and treat a friend to an early dinner? On Saturday evenings before 7pm you can buy one main meal and the second is our treat (but we can pretend it is yours!) Have you booked a table for dinner? Every Monday all guests for restaurant bookings will enjoy a glass of prosecco on us; allow those resolutions to melt away along with the cold and grey of January. Join us for breakfast and we will make you a freshly pressed juice to help you conquer the day (and detox from the night before!) *These treats are only available for our members. Fear you are missing out? Head over to our website to apply for membership www.hosb.org.uk/our-club/
